Málková, Kristýna ; Svobodová, Tereza (advisor) ; Uhlířová, Jaromíra (referee)
The issue of driving a car after stroke is getting increasingly common, especially because of the high stroke incidence concerning productive age patients. Nowadays, driving is considered a matter of course which intervenes our leisure time activities and work performance. Self-sufficiency and independency of a patient is one of the domains of occupational therapy, which is why the occupational therapist is a part of an interdisciplinary team. The theoretical part of the thesis defines terms relating to stroke and further neuropsychological deficits. It describes problematics of returning to automobile driving and legislative aspects. Possibilities of occupational therapy interventions relating to driving are proposed as well. The practical part of the thesis stands on a survey research, conducted in the Czech Republic and Belgium. The survey was aimed at occupational therapists who work with neurological patients and focuses on the issue of returning to driving and possible occupational therapy interventions. The conclusion also describes and compares practical Czech and Belgian occupational therapy with patients who have undergone a stroke. Key words: stroke, driving a car, occupational therapy, rehabilitation

Vítek, Jiří ; Horáček, Ondřej (advisor) ; Kobesová, Alena (referee)
Bibliography VÍTEK, Jiří. The effect of physiotherapy on respiratory muscle strength and functional ability in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Prague: Charles University, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, 2017. 132 p. Supervisor prim. MUDr. Ondřej Horáček, Ph.D. Abstract Objectives To determine the effects of intensive physiotherapeutic care in patients with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), with the focus on objective measurement of respiratory functions and functional status. Methods Patients with ALS (n = 21) were non-randomly assigned into two groups. First group (group R) received a 3-week in-patient rehabilitation programme in the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun. Second group, control group (group K), received a home exercise programme. Patients from both groups underwent spirometry examination and evaluation of functional skills via the Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis functional rating scale revised questionnaire (ALSFRS-R) three weeks apart. Among the spirometry parameters, forced vital capacity (FVC) and forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) were selected for further evaluation. These parameters are significantly associated with respiratory muscle strength and survival in patients with ALS. Results There were no significant differences in...

Varga, Pavel ; Vilímek, Miloslav (advisor) ; Jelen, Karel (referee)
Title: Motion analysis of lower extermity during squatting Aims: The aim of the thesis is to compare the squat without and with external load in a group of people who work under professional guidance and have experience with this movement, contrary to the people of the common population. Another objective will be the compasion this movement among men and women of the common population. In the theoretical part, the main objective is to describe the basic characteristic of the squat, describe the kinesiological and biomechanical findings and the risks of this movement on the locomotive apparatus. The experimental part will focus on the observation of the determined kinematic parameters of squats and their comparison in the mentioned set of persons. The results of the work should clarify the possible side effects of the squat. Methods: Kinematic analysis will be performed using Qualisys instrumentation. Infrared cameras accurately record and further perform a motion action through passive or active reflection markers. Data from the device will be processed in Microsoft Office Excel software and further evaluated statistically. Results: The results show that there are significant variations in the performance of the movement among groups of men actively engaged in squats under professional guidance and...

Title: Relation between occurrence of specific language impairment and motor skills in children Objectives: The aim of this thesis is detection of prevalence of risk factors for specific language impairment in children in the Czech Republic and evaluation of another possible difficulties these children may have, especially those which could be detected or influenced by physiotherapist. Physical activity as means of prevention and rehabilitation of vertebrogenic disorders
Rošická, Petra ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Hošková, Blanka (referee)
This thesis deals with vertebrogenic children's and adults' disorders. The theoretical part focuses on a statistical review of vertebrogenic disorders, their causation and possible forms of prevention. The practical part consists of two case interpretations of patients with vertebrogenic disorders. To each of them an intervention physical activity plan based on their health history and physical activity history has been prepared. The result of this thesis confirms that a well-chosen physical activity can be used as prevention and is also a basis for most rehabilitation programs for patients with vertebrogenic disorders.
