Hrádková, Jana ; Havlíček, Jiří (referee) ; Macháček, Mikuláš (advisor)
The diploma thesis Anthology of Unspoken is a form of personal therapy, a coping mechanism in the shape of an extensive personal research presented by visually eclectic web, which maps the perception of depression and melancholy in terms of historical, artistic, and partly academic discourse. AoU takes the form of a website on the border of an archive and a research blog, which visually reminds a notebook with the use of texts in the form of notes, reader view essays, and accompanying visual material (period paintings, pop-cultural references, emoticons etc.). This diploma thesis has two main goals. Firstly, it represents a way of finding means to articulate and at least fractionally understand my own problems. Secondly, it is a way of finding answers to the following questions: Is depression really a modern matter of the 21st century? Why is it so difficult to talk about it? Where do the shame and feeling of guilt, with which it is inextricably associated with, come from? Is melancholy synonymous with depression, or do these terms differ from each other? And is depression really a disease or is it only a sign of my own failure?

The role of nurse in care of hospitalized suicidal patient.
SRBOVÁ, Klára
Current situation: Suicide is one of the main problems in the public health field. This thesis focuses on the role of a nurse in the care of suicidal patients. The theoretical framework concentrates on the origination of this particular situation, the risk factors, how to prevent suicidal behaviors, how the nurse manages this conduct and monitors the state of the patient, how to create a safe environment and how to intervene in a crisis situation. Objectives of the thesis: First, to study the different responsibilities of the nurse in the duty of care of suicidal inpatients in the psychiatric wing under maximum safety. Second, to explore the diverse security restrictions used during the treatment of this type of patients. Methodology: The research is based on a survey of eighteen questions in which all the participants had the opportunity to answer to open questions. These eighteen questions are also divided into eight categories and, at the same time, these eight are classified into different subcategories. Analysis of the collected data was processed using the pencil-paper method, the so called coding. Research group: Thirteen nurses selected from the psychiatric wing under maximum safety. Results of the thesis: From this investigation could be assumed that the role of a nurse in the care of suicidal patients is a crucial factor. The medical treatment is not enough, but it is important to include the family circle. The conditions are not always optimum. Recommendations include focusing on the development of education and awareness, also medical management so that nurses can devote time to the patient with these problems, and a technical equipment such as a surveillance system, which is not always available for every medical center. Practical use: The present final thesis could be used as a case of study for nurses and nursing students. The results could be published in scientific magazines and conferences.
