Social Networking for Questionnaire Survays

The aim of this work is to design and implement an application using an experimental library CloudKit. This application will serve as a social network for community submitters and questionnaire surveys respondents. Implemented social network is tested on a group of users who are involved in running the network. The benefit of this work is to test the Library CloudKit and its relevance for social networks.

Rehabilitation of Santini water system in the Plasy monastery

The article presents the process of restoration of the Baroque convent of the Cistercian Monastery in Plasy found on oak raft and piles. J. B. Santini designed a water system for the preservation of the foundation structure of the convent with pure spring water fed into clay basins under the monastery. This kept the oak foundation structure under water and thus ensured its preservation. In the 19th century, knowledge of the behaviour of the building was lost, all water pipes critical to the stability of the building were severed and many inappropriate interventions were made. Santini was mindful of this possibility and designed an emergency scheme that took into account the possibility of losing all water supplies. In the emergency mode, ambient water (runoff from the road and fields) is withdrawn into the foundation basins. However, this water source does not meet the requirements for conservation of the foundation structure. The structure was in emergency mode for approximately 70 years until 2021 when a suitable water supply was partially restored. This paper describes the restoration of the system, evaluates its impact on the building by comparing the indoor microclimate in the pre- and post-repair periods, and at the same time verifies the possibility of drying the indoor air in the convent by means of cold water spraying, which in the past was provided by a baroque fountain. Based on the results of the measurements, it can be concluded that the repair had a positive effect on the foundation structure of the convent and improved the indoor microclimate. A tracing test identified the mutual interconnection of parts of the water system.

The Place of the Library within the Organisational Framework of Universities in the Czech Republic and USA: A Comparison Study

The aim of this master thesis was to describe and asses the place of the library within the organizational framework of universities in the Czech Republic and USA. Aim of this thesis is to describe and evaluate the current position of library in organizational structure of colleges and universities in the Czech Republic and USA. First chapter sums up the current situation. For Czech universities in public school sector the corresponding elementary data, relevant legislative scope and position in organizational structure of public universities are emphasized and presented. For US universities the current status is presented with a particular example of five public universities. Second chapter is about current trends in evolution of university libraries in Czech Republic and USA with an emphasis on position in university or college structure. Third chapter is the essential part of the thesis. It contains report about survey performed with representatives of Czech public universities and representatives of given libraries. Last chapter presents parallel research done in USA.

The theme of this doctoral thesis is the gate for free access to the electronic information resources Art On-line at the Library of The Janacek Academy of Music and Performing Arts /JAMU/ in Brno (see http://knihovna.jamu.cz/index.html or http://dokumenty.jamu.cz/knihovna/eiz). The purposes are analysis and evaluation of the current state of the gate, survey of using information and information services, suggestion of its expansion, suggestion of its organizational and technological innovation and suggestion for completion of electronic information resources. The doctoral thesis consists of seven chapters. The opening part introduces JAMU and the Library of JAMU, the fundamental part presents the gate Art On-line. Why the French are Discontent: The Change in Perception of the Office of the President and its Influence on the Popularity

This bachelors thesis deals with the decline of popularity of the last three French presidents (Nicolas Sarkozy, François Hollande, Emmanuel Macron). Each and every single one of them witnessed the lowest levels of popularity in the history of the Fifth republic. The thesis is trying to determine whether this decline is due to some systematic changes in the perception of the office of the President of the Republic and whether the phenomena are recurring at the societal level. Instead of analysing the macroeconomical factors, it is rather focusing on the society and the systém itself, while comparing the presidents on different levels. The first part of the thesis lays down the theoretical framework of the French political system and the changes after the reform in 2002. The next chapter determines how these changes influenced the electoral behavior and describer the presidential elections. The next part shifts focus more on the Presidents itself, by describing their media strategy used in the campaigns and introduces the question of personalisation of power in France. Information education of children at public libraries in the Karlovy Vary region focused on pupils of the 2nd stage of primary schools (grades 6 - 9)

The subject matter of the B.A. thesis is information education of children at public libraries. Its analytical part, which is the main focus of the thesis, describes information education of pupils attending the 2nd stage of primary schools (grades 6 - 9) as it is currently provided at public libraries in the Karlovy Vary region. It also outlines further possible development in the area of information education. The aim of its theoretical part is no more than to supply the thesis with a viable framework and to introduce readers into the area of information education. It explains the basic concepts used in the field, such as information literacy and information education itself. The role of libraries in life-long education and learning is mention in the given context and competencies of a children librarian are discussed. The thesis also includes data about education of librarians in the Karlovy Vary region and gives an example of good practice in information education at Public library in Loket.

Between media presentation of political parties and thier election result.

This thesis deals with the relationship between media coverage of political parties and election results. Specifically, it focuses on four political parties (TOP 09, Věci veřejné, KDU- ČSL and Strana zelených) in the period of nine months before the parliamentary elections in May 2010. The two established political parties were not successful in these elections (KDU- ČSL and Strana zelených), the other two parties were. Using quantitative content analysis of media content this work examines media coverage of these four parties in nationwide television, radio and print media. The thesis compares differences between media presentations of the parties with the evolution of political preferences of the parties. As a source, monthly data acquired by two public opinion research agencies - CVVM and Median - was used. Even more important to answer the research questions was to compare the media presentation of the parties with their final election results. The thesis assumes that the form of media presentation of the parties is one of the factors that affects their voters' support. Based on the data found this thesis tries to find out trends and patterns guiding the relationship between media space which parties achieved, the development of their electoral preferences and the final election results.
