Issue of Migrating from Single-Core to Multi-Core Implementation of Operating System
Matyáš, Jan ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
This thesis discuss necessary changes needed in order to run MicroC/OS-II on multicore processor, mainly Zynq 7000 All Programmable SoC which uses two ARM Cortex-A9 cores. Problems that arise during this transition are also discussed.
Gomoku Game
Basovník, Martin ; Dluhoš, Ondřej (referee) ; Kněžík, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is focused on the development of arti cial intelligence for board game Gomoku. Firstly it describes the necessary theoretical basis for the development of intelligent opponents. Secondly it considers the possibility of parallelization. Next it describes the implementation of the game Gomoku. Finally it documents testing process, publishes the results of the development, and outlines possible further extensions to the application.
Real-Time Displaying Quality Maps of Silicon Wafers
Mareček, Matěj ; Přibyl, Bronislav (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to design and implement a software system that can collect real-time data from measurements of silicon wafers. There could be tens or hundreds data sources of measurements and data from these measurements can be rendered (also in real time). This work contains a description of the process of manufacturing and testing of integrated circuits. Subsequently, there is description of system architecture design, interior architecture of real-time server and GUI of client application. In the last section, there is shown how rendering of silicon wafers was implemented on platform JavaFX 2.2 and also implementation of hybrid multi-threading server architecture.
Manager for Desk Games with Parallel Tournament Playing
Čížek, Tomáš ; Snášelová, Petra (referee) ; Rozman, Jaroslav (advisor)
The theme of this work is to design and realize an application for organizing classic board game tournaments played by computer programs. The application is based on already existing Manager of board games and extends it, so there is a possibility of parallel playing games within the tournament, among other things. At the beginning I describe existing Manger of board games. Subsequently, I focus on theory of programing parallel and portable applications. The rest of the text summarizes the design and implementation of the target application.
Optical Field Calculations in GP-GPU
Srnec, Erik ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
This work describes a relatively new technique designed to write highly parallel programs, that name is OpenCL. It is intended for both GPU and CPU and other parallel processors. Libraries used by the processor architecture, which includes a large number of small cores. These cores are not as comprehensive as conventional processors and is therefore suitable for calculations, which are many and they are simple. It is this property could, under certain conditions, accelerate the calculation of the hologram, namely the calculation of the optical field. While the calculation itself is simple, but the amount of processed data is large and therefore slow. The work also contain the basic concepts of explanation of optical and digital holography.
Applicability of GCD Technology to Antivirus Software
Švec, Michal ; Janoušek, Vladimír (referee) ; Kočí, Radek (advisor)
This master's thesis describes Grand Central Dispatch technology. It is technology for parallel computing and task processing. It also describes history and techniques of parallel computing. As an example stand simple HTTP server with 4 methods of request parallel processing. Server is connected to AVG antivirus software and check each request for viruses.
Distributed mathematical calculation on the PC
Fuksa, Tomáš ; Macho, Tomáš (referee) ; Petyovský, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the usage of graphics cards for mathematical calculations. The selection of the suitable SDK and implementation of several examples of calculations on the cards.
Application for Alignment of DNA Parts
Kašpárek, Tomáš ; Žák, Jakub (referee) ; Rozman, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with DNA sequences alignment methods with focus on execution speed of given task and its optimality. The outcome of this thesis results in multiple programs, which presents DNA alignment algorithms and their versions programmed with OpenCL libraries, which are optimized on calculation rate. Text of this thesis apprises reader with DNA alignment problematic and its importance in biology. Further, algorithms for DNA alignment and options of their speed-up using libraries like CUDA or OpenCL are presented.
Paralelized image processing library
Fuksa, Tomáš ; Macho, Tomáš (referee) ; Petyovský, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with parallel computing on modern processors - multi-core CPU and GPU. The goal is to learn about computing on this devices suitable for parallelization, define their advantages and disadvantages, test their properties in examples and select appropriate tools to implement a library for parallel image processing. This library is going to be used for the vanishing point estimation in the path finding mobile robot.
Alignment of DNA Parts
Pejř, Václav ; Burgetová, Ivana (referee) ; Rozman, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with finding the possibilities within the sphere of alignment of DNA sequences. Based on these findings, the best solution should be found with regard to the quickness of computation and quality of alignment. Following this I intend to implement and thus create a functioning program that will do the alignment. The thesis starts with introducing issues dealing with biology, DNA and genetics. The introduction is followed by a survey of algorithms that are used for alignment, their evaluation and selection of the most appropriate algorithm for the implementation. The thesis also focuses on the usage of parallel programming by means of OpenCL libraries. The alignment is being done above many sequences at the same time, so that the methods how this process can be done and how to reach the best results are being examined.
