Gained diseases of horses' hooves
Chrbolková, Tereza ; Doležalová, Jana (advisor) ; Viktor, Viktor (referee)
Our choice of horses is based on specific kriteria. We choose horses for work or sport. We can not expect any results in ether of those sectors, without the ringht care of hooves. Because of little interest in care hoof apparatus, there are occure other health problems, which cause problems in other parts of horse's limbs. Main part of this work includes description of chosen hoof apparatus diseases. There are stated causes of growth, its treatment and prevention. There are many diseases of hoof apparatus, so I chose the ones, which are most frequently seen in practice. Without anatomical knowledge of hood it would be impossible to horseshoeing a horse or treat it, so I think, that it is necessary for horseshoer to have this knowledge for application of shoeing in practice. I look into this topic in individual chapter. I sorted large amount of information about diseases of outter and inner part of hoof. Chapters included one of the most frequently occuring horse hoof diseases. Cause of development isn't clear to this day, so it is one of the most interesting diseases. Further, I mention quality of horn and it is diseases. For example: lair, cleft and rings hoof wall. Wrong diet and excessive work are one of the most frequent factors influencing and possibly causing those diseases. Last, but not least, is unsuitable environment, where are horses kept. That is the reason why the hoof care is very important, and also stable hygiene and dietary plan for every horse idividually, depending on horse's age, work load and other factors.
The alimentary diseases of pet animals
Kohoutová, Monika ; Kodeš, Alois (advisor) ; Hučko, Boris (referee)
Thesis is focused on characteristics of disease, that arised due to bad nutrition of animals. In regards of comprehensiveness of chosen topic, the main point of attention was given on cats in unity of stated aim and methods of the thesis. The introduction is based on specifying of main terms and following the resolution of external enviroment factors such as stabling, hygiene of cat breeding and their nutrition since birth. Mainly no literature does not state the right structure of feed dose in detail, we can only work with estimated data. Our effort has been using the scientific literature to choose the generalizing opinions about optimal compounds of feed, nutrition value and feed proper or improper for domestic cats. The most important part of the thesis is diseases caused by malnutrition of cats. Basic problems connected with feed intake are reluctance, vommiting, diarrhoea, constipation and tooth caries. Next part is based on obesity that is severe metabolic defect and causes other relevant malformations. Following part is about nutrition allergies and intolerance problems. Finally, in the end of this work there are said inherent problems caused by lack of some feed components causing troubles with fur and skeleton. Health problems or disorders associated with food are first characterized and further described their causes, treatment and prevention. The treatment can be done by the breeder in some ways; in more difficult cases is necessarry to ask the Veterinarian who sets individual treatment plan.
The risks of disease in dogs associated with improper nutrition
Pečená, Jana ; Kodeš, Alois (advisor) ; Hučko, Boris (referee)
It is modern to have a pet in this time. Only in the Czech Republic have every second family one cat or dog. With increasing popularity of livestock breeding are animals often kept by people without experiences, who don´t know, what animals need. In the case of dogs exist lots of organizations, who help owners with training and playing with dogs, they allow the dog to exhibit or caring about treir appearance. But it´s only few oraginazations, who teach owners, how to feed the dogs, how many nutrients thein dog need for healthy growing, shiny hair or making some activities. Owners and breeders of dogs are under pressure of advertisements, who convince them about quality of fodders and it´s few of owners, who are interested about real quality nutrition for dogs. This work provides general summary of basic feed ingredients, their importace for functioning organism and results of improper ratios between them. Subsequently focuses the most often ways of feeding dogs, their characteristic, disadvantages and possible risks due to the lack of consistency in feeding. Hereafter are listed problems and diseases, who can develop from inaccurate balanced food or badly modify food. It´s need to understand dependence between organism and nutrients. Important is a way of feeding dogs with their risks. Appropriate and inappropriate viands must be accepted. In conclusion of this work can be said, that compilation of balanced diet is very complicated process, which can easily causes bad aftermath and which must be accepted.
Diseases of the eye and ear in dogs
Plocová, Markéta ; Fiala Šebková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Chmelíková, Eva (referee)
The work deals with the description of selected diseases of the eye and ear. In order to better understand the different diseases and disorders caused by them, there is first described the anatomy and physiology of the competent organs of vision and hearing, and the location of their centers in the brain. Some breeds, due to their anatomical and genetic foundation have predisposition to certain diseases or disorders. Selected diseases of vision and hearing are described in view of anatomical and physiological eventually. Part of the description of diseases is also an overview of the clinical signs and symptoms. Some of selected diseases are genetic and can be inherited from generation to generation. For these heritable diseases are mentioned the possible candidate genes and their localization. Next I explain the congenital diseases that may occur during prenatal or postnatal development. For each disease I present the table with breeds where the disease occurs. Eye diseases mentioned in this work are largely genetic in origin, so there is described in detail the genetic basis of the disease with a potential name of the candidate gene, the mutation and its localization. I deal with the diseases of the Primary Lens Luxation (PLL), Canine Multifocal Retinopathy (CMR), Multifocal Retinal Dysplasia (MRD), Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), Dry eye syndrome and curly hair (CKCSID), Glaucoma, Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) . For these hereditary diseases, it is important for breeders to eliminate their occurrence with the consistent breeding work. The most common diseases of the ear are called otities, ie. ear infections. These infections can lead to damage and finally to the complete loss of hearing. As a separate chapter I mention hearing disorder in Dalmatians, which is associated to the coat color. Next I deal with the neurological symptoms of ear disease, complication associated with total canal ablation and bulla osteotomy, pathological changes in congenital ear disorder MPS (Mucopolysaccharidosis), disorders of the inner ear and the vestibular system. Finally, it should be noted that thanks to the latest findings of diseases, they are better described and it is achieved better recognition of diseases and their causes, but their prevention is dependent on the origin of the disease. For diseases obtained it is important for the dogs to ensure the welfare conditions, while for hereditary diseases it is necessary the negative selection in the respective breeding of the affected breed.
Obstacles in the lives for those with Von Hippel Lindau disease.
ŠEREDOVÁ, Eva
Morbus Von Hippel Lindau (VHL) is still an unkonwn term for many people. It refers to a genetic oncological desease affecting 1/39000 to 1/50000 persons. VHL is connected with a great deal of manifestation. It is a disease with a very unstable prognosis. Those diagnosed with VHL require medical care by a large number of specialists. However, an early detection may significantly improve the quality of patients´ life. The disease is manifestated by numerous negative side effects, which is the main topic of my bachelor thesis. The research deals with "Obstacles in the lives for those with Von Hippel Lindau disease." and identification of bio-psycho-social effects of the disease on the respondents and their families. Additionally, identification of negative factors that can influence the respondents´ lives. The research is based on four issues: What are the biological effects of the disease? What are the psychological effects of the disease? What are the social effects of the disease? What are the negative factors affecting the lives of respondents? The research part of the thesis results from a qualitative survey accompanied by the method of semistructured individual detailed interviews and case histories. The respondents of the survey are two women diagnosed with VHL, one of their close family members and a specialist taking care of the women the chief nurse of Ophalmology Department in Faculty Hospital in Brno. The survey was made in Jihlava and Brno. The answers recorded in pen and drafted in schemes in particular gave a comprehensive view of the most significant effects. The results showed that the disease can influence not only the biological aspect of patients diagnosed with VHL but also the social and mental one. The former mainly results from the variability of the disease. Both women account pain, dispepsia, pancreatic cysts and hemangioblastoma. Moreover, the respondent 1 reports progressive hamengioma retina resulting in the loss of eyesight and the respondent 2 serious DM and trombofilia. Naturally, these handicaps have effects on the social life of both respondents namely the loss of job. This refers to the respondent 1 due to the loss of her eyesight. Both report restraints in social activities, relationships and minimizing contacts with their friends. According to the survey results the mental effect is more or less the same for both the respondents, yet the least important. They mention mainly fears, hopelessness, determination and distrust. Other negative factors affecting the respondents´ lives are insecurity, isolation, lack of knowledge of the disease and stigma. The results showed the biological effect of the disease as the most significant followed by the social and psychological ones. The interviews proved that both laymen and professionals have inadequate knowledge about the disease which, in the Czech Republic, has very rarely been researched while foreign servers offer quite extensive studies on this issue. Especially in the US there are specialized clinics treating patients diagnosed with VHL which is, of course, a result of a large number of patients concentrated in this large territory. Thus, these factors enable patients be centred in specialized clinics. This bachelor thesis may be regarded as a comprehensive study of Von Hippel-Lindau disease. The output of the practical part is an information manual about this disease.

When the health care of the patient becomes
PALIČKOVÁ, Pavla
The theoretical part is divided into five further parts. The first part is focused on the concept of health, definition of health which was constantly changing and also characterization of four various views on the concept of health. The second part will explain the concept of disease, the burden of disease and nurse's and patient's attitudes toward the disease will be discussed. The third part contains characteristics of the patient, their role, personal qualities and their shift in how they experience of the disease and how they act. The fourth part is focused on the nurse as such. It describes the role of doctor, nurse and care worker in patient's position. The fifth and last part is dedicated to hospitalization. Here we can find relationship between a patient and a nurse in hospitalization. This goes with explaining the importance of conversation and its role during hospitalization. The last sub-chapter of this part covers adaptation to the hospital environment and concludes the theoretical part of this thesis. The aim of this work was to 1. Find out about the view of one's own experienced hospitalization. 2. Find out how nurse's personal qualities have been affected by hospitalization. 3. Find out whether the hospitalization has affected their further job performance. The research part of this thesis was carried out using the method of qualitative survey. Data were collected with the help of semi structured interview. In the beginning of the interview, each respondent was assured that her identity will remain anonymous and that all the information acquired will be used only for this bachelor thesis. The survey was carried out in the respondents' privacy. The research showed that hospitalization experience is different between nurses in the role of patient and "ordinary" patients.Nurses as patients have higher expectations for example towards nursing service or providing information on their health condition. That is given by their medical background. On the other hand, it turns out that their education prevents them from embracing the role of patient and ask more questions. We can therefore say that the nurse/patient is in a way a really demanding client for the medical staff. The research has revealed that it cannot be definitely stated that medical education has significant influence on providing information on health condition. The research has further shown that respondents had no issues with attractiveness and equipment of the department. Early waking up for taking the patients temperature was perceived as negative. The research shown that, in terms of providing assistance in self-care, the personnel was very helpful, attentive, kind and saw "no issues".Further part of the research investigation was to determine how the health nurse/patient's hospitalization affected them on a personal level. What changes affect the nurse's professional attitude towards the patient after having personal experience as a patient and how they will use the experience in their professional performance. The results show that the respondents are trying to contemplate on their hospitalization experience. The results have also shown that the respondents tend to change their attitude mostly on the basis of unprofessional attitude on the part of medical personnel. In spite of this fact, nine respondents managed not only to think about their professional weaknesses but were also able to make use of the negative hospitalization experience for further development and improvement as for their professional performance. This thesis provides an insight of a nurse in the role of patient in hospitalization focused on the behaviour of nurses and their carer's approach towards patients. As the results have shown that the most problematic part was obtaining and providing information, I propose a seminar focused on the topic of how to learn relevant communication skills.
The support of healthy lifestyle by romany women
VÍTKOVÁ, Dominika
Abstract Bachelor work theme is support of healthy lifestyle of gipsy women. Bachelor work is separated into two parts - part theoretical and experimental. In the theoretical part there is described characteristic of gipsy ethnicity, further are defined notions such as health, prevention, illness, individual parts of healthy and unhealthy of lifestyle. Last section in the theoretical part of this bachelor work is given to task of midwife. First goal of this work was to find out, whether gipsy women are obtains information about healthy lifestyle from midwifes. Second goal was focussed on whether gipsy women follow conventions of healthy lifestyle. Two experimental questions were asked: How are gipsy women informed about healthy lifestyle from midwife? And how the gipsy women keep healthy lifestyle? In practical part of this bachelor work the qualitative method was used. Data gathering was executed by the individualized talks. Basis of the talk were sets of prepared questions which helped with simplification of processing of answers. Questions were focused on healthy lifestyle. Respondents could explain their opinion on the theme. Experimental set was formed of 5 gipsy women from 18 to 55 years living on different places of the Czech Republic and 5 midwifes working in gynaecological attendances. The talks proceeded on before appointed places where the women had enough privacy to express their opinion. Before talking the respondents have had a possibility to sign Application agreement of cooperation in which was guaranteed anonymity of data. Before this agreement they were also informed about using these talks for needs of bachelor work. This request all women underwrote. Talks were recorded to the Dictaphone and consequently wrote. On base of the gathering information were formed main categories and subcategories by the help of colouring of the text. In experimental investigation of gipsy women were determined two major categories. First category - gipsy women lifestyle and within there were determined subcategories: diet, free time, drugs, stress and intimate hygiene. Second major category - knowledge of gipsy women included subcategories: prevention, sex, contraception, received information and source of education. During processing results in experimental investigation with midwives was determined one major category: Education of gipsy women that includes subcategories: diet, physical activities, drugs, intimate hygiene, sex, contraception, prevention and way of education. In results of the research are recorded answers of gipsy women to questions about healthy lifestyle as well as answers of midwives how do they teach gipsy women about it. Bachelor work pointed where gipsy women have got not enough information. Their lack of information often causes that the gipsy women are unknowingly exposed to risk behaviour that has negative influence on human organism. They are not well informed about dealing with contraception, intimate hygiene, prevention before sexually illness as well as prevention of breast carcinoma. On the other side gipsy women have sufficient information in the area of pregnancy interruption. Mostly it is because they have their own experiences with it. Results of this investigation show that gypsy women don't keep on healthy lifestyle. From the answers of midwives results on which theme of healthy lifestyle they should focused on during their education. They should force on education of healthy diet, physical activities, relaxation, sleeping. They also should inform gipsy women about prevention of large intestine cancer. The results show that there is no feedback because answers of women and midwives were different in many ways.
