Národní informační a poradenské středisko pro kulturu
Statistika kultury se zabývá zjišťováním údajů o činnosti kulturních subjektů (např. návštěvnost, kapacita, vzdělávací akce, vydané publika, výpůjčky, čtenáři). V předkládané brožuře jsou zveřejněny vybrané údaje za následující obory: divadlo, galerie, muzea a památníky, hvězdárny, planetária a astronomické pozorovatelny, veřejné knihovny, památkové objekty zpřístupněné za vstupné, neperiodické publikace a periodický tisk. Údaje ekonomické povahy jsou k dispozici pouze za subjekty veřejného sektoru, kulturní subjekty v soukromém sektoru je neposkytují.

Předmětem zjišťování je činnost veřejných knihoven a vydavatelská činnost. Mezi nejvýznamnější šetřené ukazatele patří počet knihovních jednotek, registrovaných čtenářů, výpůjček, návštěvníků, zaměstnanců, ukazatele o hospodaření, počet vydávaných titulů periodických a neperiodických publikací, audio, videodokumentů a e-dokumentů, údaje o zasílání povinného výtisku a distribuci.

Czech libraries on the social network service Facebook

The goal of this thesis is to find out how the Czech libraries present themselves on the social network - Facebook. It consists of five sections and conclusion. The first section describes a current status of the internet and the social networks, possibilities of communication and feedback in these environments and defines the "new generation" of the libraries' users. The second section describes Facebook's social network in greater detail. The third part describes integration of the Czech libraries into this environment. The fourth section consists of analysis and practical piece: the survey and its conclusions. The thesis concludes with an evaluation of gathered information on presentation of the Czech libraries on the Facebook social network and survey carried out on the group of the Czech Libraries Web Administrators on this network.

Information and library services for students of art schools with a focus on dramatic and musical art in the Czech Republic

Diploma thesis " Information and library services for students of art schools with a focus on dramatic and musical art in the Czech Republic " aims to analyze the environment of libraries with a fund focused on music and theater, which serves students of art schools. This thesis also describes library and information services and the impact of copyright law to provide services in libraries with a fund containing score, audio and audiovisual media. The last section describes methodology of qualitative research and evaluates research by force field analyzing method and also analyzed findings and recommendations to address the identified facts.

This thesis deals with the analysis of the current state of libraries in elementary and secondary schools in the Vysočina region. In the first part of the text outlines the basic problems of school libraries along with the characteristics of the region. The main part of this work is analysis of the state of libraries based on the survey.Personally visited libraries are closely described. The conclusion summarizes the survey results. The barriers to the use of library services by migrants from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine

The bachelor thesis deals with barrier problems, which appear in communication between migrant, who could be Russian, Ukrainian or Belarusian, and Czech librarian. The first chapter devoted to theoretical introduction in intercultural communication; describes such terms as culture, national minority, assimilation and others. The second chapter devoted to detailed analysis of barriers (language, psychological), which can influence on communication of both sides. The third chapter focuses to foreigners (their types: migrant, refugee, asylum seeker) and on the types of residence, that migrants can obtain in the Czech Republic. There is also briefly describes the Ukrainians, Russians and Belarusians (reasons for migration, the number of migrants in the Czech Republic and so on.). The fourth chapter is practical and describes how is the situation in the Municipal Library in Prague, as well as research - including their preparation, methodology, process and results - which were analyzed by me in the two branches of this library. Both librarians and migrants took part in this research; and opinions of both groups are presented. . National Museum Library in the First Half of 20th Century by Eyes of Josef Volf

Josef Volf's diaries are for now unprocessed und unused source for research of life scientific and cultural elites in period of The First Czechoslowak Republic, for discovery the way of working of the National Museum Library and last but not least for familiarization with personality of her director. Author writes about ordinary events, everyday problems, relations with his colleagues and withal he attentively files his publishing activity. This thesis is occupied with last two parts of diary, which charts life of Josef Volf close before his death. From rows we get the knowledge about important personalities of public life and also about no longer known regional librarians, archivists or researchers. The goal is to detect as much of these names and events mentioned here as possible. The tendency is then the reconstruction of working of one cultural institution in the contemporary Czechoslowakia.

Bachelor's thesis on the theme "Geolocation services and games a their use in libraries" is focused on geolocation services and games, which can have positive impact for libraries. First chapter is dedicated to present geolocation services and games and briefly desribes their principle and function. Next chapter is focused closely on specific game, which is Geocaching. Describes its principle, history and also presents examples of caches and their individual types. Third chapter is focused on specific use of geocaching in libraries. Presents existing examples of libraries with experience in geocaching and describes more ideas about its use in libraries. Last chapter contains model design of cache placement in library.

Reading literacy of primary school children : educational programmes influence

The thesis on the theme "Reading literacy of primary school children: educational programmes influence" is focused on reading literacy, its development and influence of the educational programmes. First chapter is devoted to theoretical analysis of reading literacy. Next chapter discusses about resources and options of reading literacy development and also about the role of parents, libraries and schools in this process. Third chapter deals with the topic of alternative education and methods of teaching reading. Fourth chapter describes the research of the educational programmes influence on reading literacy. Final chapter is focused on cooperation of library and schools in the town of Kladno, analyzes the shortcomings and brings in the possibilities of development.

Communication barriers in library reference services

This thesis focuses on the problem of issues and barriers in communication channels in the specific environment of the reference services of the National Library of the Czech Republic. The thesis introduces the basic terms and expressions which are further developed and put in context with the topic. The introduction part is therefore dedicated to the topic of communication barriers and reference services. The following part is my own research listing the reference workstations and utilizing the information about the problem provided by the local employees. The information was gathered during monitored interviews, questionnaires and email communication. The final part is an evaluation of the results coming from the gathered data. There are several suggestion on possible improvements included. Keywords libraries, reference services, social comunication, barriers of communication.
