Intercultural aspects of cooperation in an international company. Social psychological approach

The disertation work focuses on currently highly observed issue of intercultural cooperation. Following the change of social situation the topic has become both a practical issue and a subjekt of research study. It compares and analyzes crosscultural and intercultural approach and criticizes both approaches for supporting social stereotypes, especially thein negative aspects. It further emphasizes social psychological aspects of the issue, particularly social perception, social groups, hierarchical structure and organization of joint activities as systemproducing and meaningful source of mutual relationships. Supporting this by own research in ŠKODA AUTO it perceives such perspective as very efficient since it is based on practical experience and it also aims at practical problems. Adaptace barmských imigrantů na českou kulturu

The Diploma thesis deals with the Burmese immigrants who were granted asylum and a new home within the resettlement program in the Czech Republic. It is focused on the process of adaptation to Czech culture and the factors affecting this process. In the theoretical part, terms related to culture, adaptation and migration are defined. The institutions operating in the Czech Republic providing assistance and other services to immigrants are also discussed in the text. In the practical part the problem of adapting Burmese refugees to Czech culture is discussed on the basis of their own experience using the method of semi-structured interview as a part of a qualitative research.

Master´s thesis is focused on managerial competence issue in travel agency INVIA.CZ, Ltd. This company has recently expanded into new markets in Poland, Hungary and Romania. All these subsidiaries are managed from the Czech parent entity. Aim is to identify how the managers´ competence is influenced by this expansion and to propose an improvement of their managing style.
Italian - Czech cultural standards in study and work enviroment and their comparison

The main focus of this thesis is on the cultural standards between the Italians and the Czechs in study and work enviroment. The aim of this thesis is to identify Czech cultural standards from the perspective of the Italians who studied or worked in the Czech Republic. For this purpose, the method of critical incidents which is based on qualitative interviews with Italian respondents was used. The thesis examines the existence of cultural differences between the Czech and Italian study and work enviroment as well a the existence of cultural differences between Italian and Czech culture, particularly in relationship between student and professor and between employee and employer. Besides the research itself, the thesis deals also with the topic of culture, importance of intercultural communication and cultural dimensions and standards. The thesis deals also with the socio - economic analysis of the Czech Republic. At the end of the thesis there are mentioned recommendations for the Italians and the Czechs to facilitate their mutual cooperation in study and work enviroment.
Comparison of Czech-British and Slovak-British Cultural Standards at Work Environment

The diploma thesis is focused on identification and mutual comparison of Czech-British and Slovak-British cultural standards at work environment. The main goal of the thesis is to define British cultural standards from both sides, from the Czech one and the Slovak one, and then to compare, whether the information from qualitative research corresponds with theoretical assumptions. The next goal is to find out how much different is the view on this topic from the Czech and from the Slovak perspective, if it is different. At the end of the thesis will be proposed a few suggestions, how Czech and Slovak should prepare for a longer staying in the United Kingdom in order to avoid possible cultural misunderstandings.

Annotation: The work entitled Problems of intercultural communication based on differences in vocabulary Czech and German deals with the causes of differences in the two languages. It focuses primarily on the relationship of language and culture, from which the language originated. Specifies the individual links, or areas in the language, which the culture is reflected in action in. The work analyzes the relationships within the language.
Cultural standards of the USA

The purpose of this diploma thesis is to describe the features of the American culture by analyzing the cultural standards, use them for comparison with the Slovak culture and create a set of recommendations for easier adaptation of the Slovaks in the United States. The work is divided into three parts - theoretical, practical and empirical. In the theoretical section we define the concept of culture, cultural standards and cultural dimensions, and on this basis we compare the features of the American and Slovak culture. The practical part describes the characteristics of the USA - national symbols, history, geography, religion, population, economy, political system, basic features of the US market, the impact of globalization and the specifics of the US business environment. The empirical section uses a questionnaire survey to examine the American culture from the Slovak point of view. The result of this thesis is a manual created with the use of the synthesis and comparison methods.

This master thesis is focused on cultural standards of New Zealand. The main aim of this thesis is to define cultural standards of New Zealand and compare them with the theory. The first part of the diploma thesis is focused on theory of culture, cultural dimensions and standards, as well as different concepts of cultural dimensions applied on the Czech and New Zealand culture. The practical part describes the basic characteristics of the country, political and economical system, business dealings and diplomatic protocol. The last part is based on empirical research and defines cultural standards of New Zealand from the Czech perspective.
Cultural standards and their impacts on business negotiation - case study of China

This bachelor thesis is focused on the impact of cultural standards on business negotiation focusing on China. In this work were used descriptive and comparative methods of investigation. The first part deals with culture as it is, provides the demarcation of concepts as culture, cultural relativism or organizational culture. Further provides partitions of some specifics of culture and a brief description of history and its evolution. Consequently contains a detailed description of cultural dimensis theory from Geert Hofstede, which is consisted of five parts: power distance, collectivisme versus individualisme, masculinity versus femininity, uncertainty avoidance and long term orientation. In the second part is application of these dimensions on Chinese culture. Below are specific features of Chinese culture, like mianzi - face, guanxi - connections and also are described some aspects of business etiquette with particular focus on negotiations in China. Practical part demonstrates that the Chinese culture plays a significant role in trade negotiations with Chinese partners.
