Methods of landfill gas treatment in landfills in integrated prevention system
Keprtová, Karolína ; Kolář, Jan
The article focuses on the issue of landfill gas man-agement in landfills, which are within the scope of Act No. 76/2002 Coll., on integrated prevention. Al-though landfilling as a way of disposing of municipal waste is in decline, the subsequent care of landfills will continue for another decade after their closure, and landfill gas must be captured even then. The article summarizes infor-mation on the method of landfill gas management ob-tained through the information system of integrated pre-vention as well as the rules for landfill gas management according to the valid Czech technical standards. Accord-ing to data obtained from the public database of the inte-grated prevention system, 136 relevant landfills were identified. The application of a cogeneration has the larg-est share in the way of landfill gas management. If a co-generation unit is installed at the landfill, it is in most cases operated by a company other than the landfill oper-ator. It was also found that the region with the lowest population density has the largest number of landfills with low capacity. Due to the fact that the production of landfill gas decreases over time, it is possible that there will be changes in the way landfill gas is handled at indi-vidual landfills.

Energy utilization of biomass through wet fermentation
Odehnal, Lukáš ; Linda, Jakub (referee) ; Kalivodová, Markéta (advisor)
The final thesis focuses on the energy utilization of biomass and the description and calculation of the energy balance of a specific biogas plant, Valeč near Hrotovice. The text is divided into five blocks, in the first block the sources of biomass and its subsequent energy use are discussed. The second part covers processes and technologies using wet fermentation. The third chapter describes a specific biogas plant. The fourth part calculates the balance of electricity and heat production, and the last chapter of the thesis summarizes the calculated values and compares the technology used with other possible sources.
Waste gas combustion
Krček, Robin ; Lisá, Hana (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of using waste gases as fuel. The first part is focused on the production processes, properties and composition of selected waste gases. The following part is an overview of the methods used in the treatment and removal of pollutants from the gas. Finally, technologies that generate electrical, thermal or mechanical energy by burning waste gases are summarized.
Cogeneration units for the heating industry
Kašpar, Jakub ; Milčák, Pavel (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis on the topic of Combined heat and power units for central heating systems focuses on the potential benefits of CHP units within energy mix of the Czech Republic. Furthermore, it describes basic functional principle and construction of gas CHP units. In the last part there is developed mathematical-physical-chemical model, which is able to predict the operating parameters of the CHP unit, assuming the combustion of a mixtures of natural gas and hydrogen, while the hydrogen concentration changes. The model was compiled on the basis of the technical sheet of the real motor generator MTU 20V4000 GS with an electrical output of 2,538 kW, which is designed for natural gas combustion. According to the calculations, it was found that the overall efficiency of the cogeneration unit decreases as the hydrogen concentration in fuel increases. At the same time, it is necessary to increase the power input of the fuel to maintain constant electric power.
Possibilities of reducing energy intensity and production of CO2 type objects
Ondruch, Jiří ; Kudela, Libor (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to introduce the issue of energy intensity of buildings. The thesis describes available technologies and ways to reduce energy intensity and CO2 production. In the design part, suitable measures are applied to selected typical buildings, which lead to lower consumption of the building, savings on operation costs and lower CO2 production.
District heating systems in the Czech Republic in the context of legislative changes
Hylas, Martin ; Poul, David (referee) ; Putna, Ondřej (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of the issue of district heating (DH) with regard to legislative changes in the European Union. The first part deals with the analysis of the issue and the evaluation of the state of CZT in the Czech Republic. The European Union's position on climate change, caused by increasing greenhouse gas emissions, which are significantly produced by DH sources, is also discussed. The research part ends with an analysis of possible changes in the heating industry leading to the fulfillment of legislative requirements in the future. The second part of the bachelor's thesis deals with the elaboration of a case study of the change of the fuel mix for the heat source in the existing locality with the use of the technical-economic model. The main goal is to evaluate the usability of renewable resources (biomass, waste) as primary fuels instead of natural gas. The result of the practical part is a comparison of individual variants and changes in the cost of producing 1 GJ of heat compared to the reference variant.

Cold production and trigeneration
Jordanov, Alexandr ; Toman, Filip (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is recherché dealing with cool production. The aim of this thesis is present the main cooling system, their comparison, practical realisations, describe laws, which should cooling systems accomplish and assess influence on the environment. The first two chapters are about cogeneration and trigeneration. The main part of the thesis is focused on different methods of cooling, their advantages, disadvantages and their influence on the environment. Because of refrigerants in cooling systems, which have negative impact on health and environment, is part of the thesis dealing with law. At the conclusion of the bachelor thesis is the assessment of cooling systems and their forward-looking perspective present.
Model of district heating network
Kolenčíková, Jana ; Skála, Zdeněk (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
Subject of this thesis is district heating and heating network model design. Firstly, it de-scribes basic principles of heat supply and its elements. Secondly, computational model of heating network is created based on grid map of the network. The model contains proposed pipeline system and calculation of heat and pressure losses. Lastly, price map for heat con-sumption points, in dependence on heat losses, is presented.
Control of gas microturbine equipped with waste heat recovery system
Kijanica, Michael ; Konečná, Eva (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with control of the cogeneration system which utilizes waste heat from gas microturbine. This complex cogeneration system was created in Laboratory of Energy Intensive Processes NETME Centre and its main purpose is the research in utilization of high temperature flue gas from Capstone C30 microturbine for drying laundry. In case of implementation of similar cogeneration system in industrial or commercial laundries, it is necessary to design automatic control of such system to make laundry - operations easier, minimizing energy waste and maximizing safety.
