Development and research of elements of ceramic masonry systems for areas with increased risk of floods
Novák, Vítězslav ; Černý,, Robert (referee) ; Dobiáš,, Jiří (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
One of the most widespread causes of building deterioration is high moisture, which in extreme cases may even arrive as floods. The action of high moisture in a structure often results in damage or alteration of properties, but it can be mitigated with various protective measures, most commonly waterproofing. However, the efficacy of waterproofing depends of flawless implementation. Another effective form of protection against high moisture is the correct choice of location, but the number of suitable construction plots is rapidly decreasing or their price is too high. This is why new construction, particularly family homes, now occurs even in locations known for the increased risk of high moisture. This doctoral thesis focuses on the research and development of the most common masonry systems with structural clay tiles designed to withstand application in flood areas thanks to the special properties of the individual elements, components, and the system as a whole.
Development of masonry systems with utilization in flood areas
Fabiánková, Aneta ; Sedlmajer, Martin (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
Thesis describes the system of masonry structures in floodareas. It is based on liteature review of floods, mapping mansonry load during floods, dyinig after the passage of the flood wave solutions and water impermeability construction to prevent degradation and destruction. The main part is the design of the wall, which connectes hydrophobic individual elements of construction to provide resistence during floods. The diploma thesis includes practical verification of the functionality of a complete proposal to ensure the smallest possible water absorption caúitaly of the structure.
Study of masonry structure protection in floods areas
Heliová, Magdaléna ; Sedlmajer, Martin (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
This work is devoted to possibilities of primary and secondary protection of masonry in sphere of lower construction in flood areas. Content of the work is implementation of literary research, which is concerned with load of brickwork during floods and solving a structure so it doesn’t degrade and even destroy. The work is also dedicated in suggestion of hydrophobic preparation and construction technology, which should ensure water impermeability within floods. Goal of the work is finding the optimal method, which can reduce absorption of mason components.
Possibilities of building of hydrophobized masonty structures in flood areas
Fabiánková, Aneta ; Stančík,, Hynek (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
The work describes development of hydrophobic flooting masonry for use in floodareas. The kontent of the bachelor thesis is realizing of a literaturere view in area of mapping masonry load during floods and solution of construction to prevent degradation and destruction. Also, to designe hydrophobizing products and construction technology to ensure tightness during floods. The work includes theoretical verification of functionality of hydrophobizing products and waterproof of wallsway to ensure the least possible absorption of construcion.

Measuring the effectiveness of hydrophobizing product Nanofusion on wood – beech and oak
Machová, Dita ; Zárybnická, Lucie ; Majtás, Dušan
Verification of protective properties and usability of NF Protect Wood for the needs of preservation effectiveness. Moisture, vapour permeability, wettability, water absorption, colour stability were evaluated and a test in climatic chamber was performed.
Report of characteristics of the brick sample from the façade of the apartment building
Slížková, Zuzana
The report brings characteristics of the brick sampled from the brick façade of the apartment building in Prague 4. Porosity, saturated water content, water absorption behaviour, water soluble salts content were determined to characterize the brick and then the effectivity of the surface protective treatment applied on the brick façade was assessed.
