Theresienstadt Jews and the Musy action as an example of forced migration conditioned by the Holocaust

This bachelor thesis focuses on the rescue operation called Terezín-St.Gallen or "Musy- Transport", through which 1 200 prisoners were transferred from the Theresienstadt concentration camp to Switzerland in February 1945. Through the use of secondary sources, audio-visual testimonies, and archival materials, it examines the circumstances under which the rescue of these Jewish prisoners took place, and analyses the situation of the participants in the Swiss refugee camps in the context of this campaign. It also tackles the question of whether the Musy-transport was intended to be a liberation campaign or whether the people involved in organization of the operation had their own self-serving intentions.

DIPLOMA THESIS ABSTRACT Name, surname: Bc. Lenka Freislebenová Thesis supervisor: MUDr. Bc. Petra Sládková, Ph.D. Title: Specific aspect occupational therapy in patients who survived holocaust Abstract: While practicing the profession of occupational therapist, we can meet clients who survived the Holocaust in any medical or social facility. The main goal of this diploma thesis was to create a proposal for an occupational therapy program for Jewish seniors who survived the Holocaust, emphasizing the elements of reminiscence therapy. One of the sub-goals of this thesis was to write 5 recommendations, which are specific for these patients. The second sub- goal was to find out the subjective point of view of the clients, the collection of biographies carried out as part of occupational therapy using a short questionnaire individually compiled for this diploma thesis. The design of the occupational therapy program was created based on the collected biographies of 2 clients of the Hagibor Social Care Home. These biographies were then used to create individual care plans for these 2 clients. Interpretation of Diaries by Karel Poláček and Jiří Orten

The bachelor´s thesis is focused on the interpretation of diaries of two Jewish authors - Karel Poláček and Jiří Orten. It is divided into four parts. The first part presents a methodology, on which is the thesis based and talks about an issue of a diary as an autobiographical genre. It works with terms autobiography, authenticity, and constructed stylization of the author's subject. The second part describes the historical context of the period of Jewish persecution based on specialist literature. Both third and fourth parts are focused on Karel Poláček and Jiří Orten and the interpretation of their diaries. The aim of this thesis is to introduce the diary with a focus on author's subject and point out its historical and rhetorical character as well.
Returning of Ota B. Kraus to Czech Literature

The diploma thesis deals with the prose of the Czech Jewish author Otto B. Kraus. The methodological part introduces the concept of the motif and the theme which helps with the understanding of important elements of the writer's work. The thesis then focuses on the life of Otto B. Kraus and the interpretation of the titles (Země bez Boha, Můj bratr dým, Vítr z hor, Vepři ve při, Obchodník se sny a jiné galilejské povídky, Cesta pouští). The motivic and thematic analysis aims to unfold the author's relationship with Czech literature of the second part of the twentieth century.
Interpretation of WWII in Novels of Authors in Exile after February 1948 - Oblak a valčík of Ferdinand Peroutka and Dvorní šašci of Viktor Fischl

This bachelor thesis deals with the interpretation of two novels, one written by Ferdinand Peroutka, Oblak a valčík, and the other by Viktor Fischl, Dvorní šašci. The core theoretical framework of this thesis is based on the methodological basis provided by Paul Ricoeurs's books Time and Narrative and Oneself as Another, and Hayden White's Tropics of Discourse and Metahistory. The interpretation mainly focuses on the representation of characters of victims of the Second World War, and Holocaust respectively. The last chapter itself contextualises the novel and puts it into the particular context of Czech exile literature, and relates particular authorial strategies found in these novels to the sociopolitical thinking of their respective authors.
A Peace of GDR Literary History: Jurek Becker between "Jakob the Liar" and "Bronstein's Children"

The topic of this diploma thesis is the literature of the GDR from the 50s to the 70s, whose character is formed by the remnants of the Holocaust and the dominance of socialism. After the Second World War, a considerable amount of works with a Jewish theme as well as works dealing with everyday problems in the socialist milieu appears. The East German writer of Jewish origin Jurek Becker is an example of the author who has experience with both the persecution of Jews and the socialist regime, and therefore incorporates them into the main themes of his literary works. The aim of the thesis is to find out how was contemporary literature influenced by these facts, not only by examining the political and cultural context, but especially through the mentioned author and his four novels.

This thesis called "To the methodology of teaching history of Holocaust at Primary schools with didactically modified text and iconographic sources" is taking into account the relationships between the newest history findings considering the holocaust topic. It is dealing with their topic range and reflexion in the school materials for the secondary school students in the context of the Framework Education Programme. The thesis gives detailed didactic analyses of the topic including the options of the excursion education and compilation of the particular selection of the didactically modified texts and iconographic sources with methodic commentary.
