Stylization of Spoken Language in Literature as a Translation Problem (French - Czech)

The present thesis examines the stylization of spoken language in literature from the translation point of view, namely in translation from French into Czech. As a prerequisite for dealing with the use of spoken language in translation, the use of spoken language in contemporary Czech literature is examined. Ten works of contemporary Czech literature are analysed via corpus linguistics methods, using the corpora of written language of the Czech National Corpus, with the view of describing the principal phonological, morphological, lexical and syntactic procedures used in Czech literary texts to evoke spoken language. In the second part of the thesis, six works of French literature containing features of spoken language are analysed, together with their translations into Czech. The paper also summarises the main features of spoken Czech and spoken French.
Acquisition of French in language courses in French-Czech club in Kladno.

The main theme of the thesis is the acquisition of French language in language courses in French-Czech club in Kladno. The thesis is divided into three principal parts. In the initial one we present the institution of French-Czech club in Kladno. In addition we mention also the partnership between Kladno city and Vitry-sur-Seine in France. The main aim of the thesis are the French language courses organized by the French- Czech club in Kladno. We deal with every single course in the club, we mention the visitors of this courses and also the motivation of these students. But the thesis concern the most the caracteristics of textbooks and workbooks used in the process of teaching French in French- Czech club in Kladno. In the courses, there are two types of textbook used in the French language courses - Czech-written and French-written textbooks. Between Czech-written textbooks, we mention ON Y VA! 1. (J. Taišlová; 2007), that is based on the structural-notional compromise combined with the situational principle. Between French-written textbooks used in French language courses in French-Czech club in Kladno, we characterize the first volume of Alter Ego (C. Hugot; V.M. Kizirian; M. Waendendries; A. Phonetic Analysis of Anglicisms in French

The aim of this thesis is to examine the integration of anglicisms into French from a phonetic point of view. The theoretical part deals with the delimitation of the term 'anglicism', its place in the French lexis, a comparison of the phonological systems of both languages and the regularities in phonetic adaptation of anglicisms in the target language. The practical part includes an analysis of the pronunciation of chosen anglicisms. It records variation in lexicographical works as well as in real speech and determines the degree of variability, based on recordings of native speakers. The thesis proceeds from the assumption that anglicisms were, are and will continue to be a highly relevant issue. In spite of all the measures aimed against their integration into the French lexis, they have their place in it, often in several pronunciation variants - whether due to the different inventory of phonemes or to sociolinguistic factors. Contrastive corpus analysis of French inchoative and ingressive constructions in comparison with their Czech equivalents

The aim of this thesis is to investigate the inchoative constructions in the French and Czech languages. These constructions have never been analysed on the parallel corpus. For this reason, the author has decided to examine this theme based on the data of the parallel corpus InterCorp. The first part represents a general introduction to the theme, particularly to the aspect theory in both languages. The second part is divided in to two chapters. The first one focuses on the constructions which expresses the inchoative aspect in French, particurarly periphrastic and light verbs. The second one covers inchoative constructions in Czech. The third research part of this thesis focuses on the detailed analysis of the selected verbs. The analysis is based on the criteria resulting from the theoretical part. In conclusion, there is a summary of the research as well as the possibilities for more researches dealing with this theme.
Valency of French adverbs

(in English): French grammars define the word class adverbs as a very heterogeneous set distinguished particularly by its invariability and intransitivity. The aim of this thesis is to study the valency structure of certain French adverbs forming such a subset which to certain extent denies aforesaid definition. Therefore, the definition of adverbial valency and the characteristic of "inheritance" and "fading" of adverbial valency potential after a transformation from verbs and adjectives will be given. The outcomes of the theoretical part will then be verified by analysing the data presented in the electronic dictionary le Petit Robert completed by qualitative and quantitative analyses based on two written French corpuses: Frantext and L'Est Républicain. To describe the "inheritance" and "fading" of valency potential, the same method will be used to depict the set of the adverbs derived from the adjectives, which take prepositional phrases headed by the preposition de as their complement. This work will be based not only on the theory of general linguistics and grammar, but also on the knowledge of mathematical and corpus linguistics. Modern Olympic Games and Their Presence in French Textbooks

The thesis deals with the significance of the modern Olympic Games for the French culture and with the use of this phenomenon in teaching French as a foreign language . It provides a brief historical summary of the Olympic games, focusing in particular on the personage of Pierre de Coubertin. It attempts to depict the role of the French language at the Olympic games, taking into account the increasing influence of the English language. The position of France towards this issue and a presumable future progress are also presented, based on available books, databases and on documents published by the International Olympic Committee and by the Olympic Museum (Lausanne). Moreover, the thesis examines the presence of this phenomenon in primary and secondary school textbooks. It also analyses its occurrence in the maturita tests. The didactic potential of the Olympic phenomenon is assessed. The thesis can thus serve as the basis for further use of this topic in French lessons. Collective nouns in French

This work is studying collective nouns in French. Its aim is to present this undergroup of nouns and to examine if different places are acceptable at the position of collective animated nouns. After the evaluation of the questionnaire, this work arrives to the conclusion that nouns of places can manage this part.
French language in Indian Ocean

La Réunion, Madagascar, Mayotte, Seychelles, Comoros and Mauritius are a colony of France located in the Indian Ocean. The target of this bachelor thesis is to outline a situation linguistic and variety of French language in this territory above mentioned. This bachelor thesis is divided into five main chapters that are divided into five lesser parts. The fifth chapter is divided into three chapters include the linguistic discipline (phonetics, morphology and syntax, lexicology). All chapters are chronologically arranged and start with studying the geography, the history, the population, the linguistic situation and variety of French.
