Jews and the State of Izrael in the Theology of the American Evangelikalism
Kovaříková, Hana ; Nosek, Bedřich (advisor) ; Beneš, Jiří (referee)
My diploma thesis on the topic of Jews and the State of Israel in the theology of American evangelicalism describes the role of the people of Israel in the history of salvation as revealed and developed by evangelicals in Europe (mainly England) and then mainly in the USA following the early church, pietists and puritans. Based on this theology, God did not finish with the Jews, the church did not replace the Jews in the role of God's Chosen People, as it spread and still spreads the so-called replacement theology, but on the contrary, evangelicals understood the irreplaceable role of the Jews in God's plan of salvation. They sow the opinion that for the second coming of Jesus Christ on earth, this time in the role of judge, general and king, in contrast to His first coming, which was a sign of the redemption of humanity from sin, it is a necessary condition that the Jews, the people of Israel, are be back in The Promised Land. From the first initiative, which came from the pietists (16th century), to the founding of the State of Israel (5/14/1948), plus minus five hundred years of work have passed. Evangelicals contributed in no small measure to the creation of the State of Israel. Another significant consequence of the evangelicals' recognition that the Jews remain God's Chosen People is the...

They understood that for the second coming of Jesus Christ on earth, this time in the role of judge, military leader and king, in contrast to His first coming, which was in the sign of the redeemer of mankind from sin, it is a necessary condition that the Jews, the people of Israel, be back in the Promised country. The pietist movement dates back to the 16th century, the State of Israel was founded on May 14, 1948. That's plus or minus five years of work. I do not want to say that the creation of the State of Israel is the result of the activities of evangelicals. No way. It is God's plan to which evangelicals have contributed in no small measure. Another significant consequence of...
Human being by Ibn Rushd and Maimonides
Kopecká, Pavlína ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor) ; Rybák, David (referee)
This thesis interprets the concept of human being in the work of Maimonides and ibn Rushd, two representatives of major Arab and Jewish medieval philosophy. It combines the ancient Greek philosophical tradition, especially Aristotle, with a religious context. When Maimonides and Ibn Rushd tried to harmonize these two traditions, they had to deal with many opposite views, that stemmed from the difference between religious and ancient world. Behind this intellectual ground have they created the original thesis and approaches to grasping reality, the world and the human being in it. The issue of human being is analyzed in three levels. The first level consists of the relationship between human being and creation, which addresses the question about origin of the world the human soul and the resurrection. The second level, i.e. the man and the world, is devoted to describing a scheme of the world, human knowledge and the theory of prophecy. Ethical and political views are analyzed on the third level, which represents the position of human being in relation to the polis. Keywords Ibn Rushd, Maimonides, Aristotle, Plato, neoplatonism, philosophy, religion, The Koran, Torah, human being, world, creation, eternity, soul, resurrection, emanation, knowledge, illumination, active intellect, prophecy, politics,...
Rationale of eternity in times
Hlavešová, Ilona ; Vogel, Jiří (advisor) ; Vik, Dalibor (referee)
The thesis "The justification of eternity in times" addresses the relationship of the entity whose existence is modally necessary to the times of the entities of contingent existence, whose existence is defined by creation and termination, i.e., by the two poles of existence. The solution of this relationship is the answer to Panneberg's question about the relationship of eternity to the space-time structure of the universe. The approach to solving this problem is analyzed in the introductory chapter. Entities of contingent existence - beings - can be considered from the point of view of existence as polar entities, while the modally necessary one, which neither comes into existence nor ceases to exist, spans in its existence the poles of existence of all beings - it is therefore supra-polar in this sense. Time is needed to express the impermanence of the existence of beings. The fact that entities of contingent existence must exist in time raises the question of the relation of the modally necessary entity to time. The formal-logical expression of the relation of modally necessary entities to the times of modally contingent entities is discussed in second chapter. Sufficient conditions are given here for such an existence of a modally necessary entity which can be said to be of unbounded duration...
The Book Song of Songs as an Answer to Qohelet's Vanity
FILIPOVÁ, Anna
This thesis is concerned with, in the words of Song of Songs, finding an appropriate answer to Qohelet's vanity - vanity of a human life and things that inherently come with it, as Qohelet himself proclaims in his book. The first chapter introduces the Book of Qohelet and aims to capture the main themes of vanity and transience, while also providing the ways out from this situation, as presented by Qohelet. The second chapter introduces the reader to the Song of Songs book while also describing its content which concerns the interpretation of love between a man and a woman. The third chapter brings forward efforts of the author and the main themes and conclusions of the book are analysed. This allows - in the conclusion of this thesis - to answer the question of whether the love in the Songs of Songs is a possible answer to Qoheleth's vanity - the transience of a human life, as brought out by Qohelet in his work.
Eternity and Time in Jan Patočka's Studies of Macha's Poetry
Krlínová, Kateřina ; Ritter, Martin (advisor) ; Frei, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with concepts of temporality and eternity in Jan Patočka's text "Time, eternity and temporality in Mácha's work." It examines in detail interpretation of Macha's model of the world, which is linked with Patočka's conception of life movements. In Macha's studies, the temporality is shown as opposite to an idea of eternity. Therefore, the thesis also aims at a clarification of such a concept of eternity and try to find out in which relation it can be to the temporality. The text is grounded in the above mentioned Patočka's study, other Patočka's studies related to the conception of life movements, in poetry of K. H. Mácha and in texts dealing with interpretations of both authors. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The Struggle for the Eternal and the Infinite (S.Kierkegaard and J.Patočka)
Trlifajová, Justina ; Kouba, Pavel (advisor) ; Ritter, Martin (referee)
The thesis deals with the struggle for the Eternal and the Infinite in the works of Kierkegaard and Patočka. It starts with their respective concepts of existence. Based on them, positive and negative aspects of the relation of existence and transcendence are described. The main guiding principle of the description is the movement of the infinite resignation and the movement of the faith in Fear and Trembling, which is compared with the de-objectifying and all-founding force of the Idea in Negative platonism. It turns out that in the relation between existence and transcendence, one can discern the two basic meanings of the transcendent reality. These meanings, together with the positive and negative aspects of the relation of existence to transcendence, form the dialectic of positive and negative, in which the struggle for the Eternal nad the Infinite is set, as well as the struggle for an authentic human existence.
