Black Economic Empowerment - successful strategy or not?

Republic of South Africa underwent through very significant changes. The discriminatory laws and provisions were cancelled, there were free elections maintained. The government is trying to empower black people. Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) is governmental strategy which seeks to diminish differences between white and so called historically disadvantaged inhabitants. This master thesis provides broad survey of this strategy and analyses its current results.

The thesis deals with the 2008 Men's World Floorball Championships, held in the Czech Republic. It describes and evaluates various aspects of World Championships economics, compares organizers' targets with the actual results and highlights the most important factors of success of the event along with the biggest deficiencies in event's organization. The objective of this work is to create a document that will serve as an aid to future organizers to hold a successful international sporting event such as Men's World Floorball Championships.

Po 11. září 2001 po útocích na USA se stal terorismus součástí života západních demokratických států. Samotným problémem je však chápání a výklad pojmu terorismus. Navíc je otázkou, jaký vliv má terorismus na ekonomiku států. Co se týká České republiky, není příliš mnoho teroristických cílů na jejím území, které by mohly v takovém rozsahu přímo ohrozit nejen hospodářství České republiky, ale i hospodářství okolních zemí a možná i celé Evropské unie, jako je sektor elektroenergetiky.

Práce charakterizuje Společenství nezávislých států z hlediska geograficko-klimatických podmínek, obyvatelstva, hospodářských sektorů (zemědělství, průmysl, služby) a ekonomiky - vyspělost, dynamiku, otevřenost ekonomiky, přímé zahraniční investice, bilance běžného účtu a srovnání s ostatními světovými ekonomickými centry. Popisuje vznik SNS, jeho hlavní ústavní orgány a hodnocení perspektivy tohoto společenství do budoucna. Práce je doplněna přílohou s tabulkami, grafy a obrázky.

Development and present situation of Romania and itsposition in the EU

Thesis concentrates on economic development of Romania and particularly of its historicaly differently developing regions and on its position in the European Union. It consists of five parts: first briefly presents current Romania from geographical, demographical, socila and cultural point of view. Second and third chapter dedicates to the development of individual parts of today's Romania from integration to the Roman Empire through 'Great Unification'in December 1918 to December revolution in 1989 with fall of N. Ceausescu. Fourth chapter deals with preparing process before entering EU and high public membership support. Fifth analyzes first year of the membership and strong and weak points of Romanian economy. It also contains evaluation of dynamics of executing duties imposed by EU and of Cooperation and Verification Mechanism that controls persisting defects elimination. In conclusion summary of general development of Romania culminating by the European membership and outlining of its future perspective in the EU is made.

Postavení cestovního ruchu v ekonomice vybraných zemí Jižní Ameriky

Práce je zaměřena na postavení cestovního ruchu v ekonomice Jižní Ameriky se zaměřením na vybrané země z regionu, Brazílii a Argentinu, vývoj cestovního ruchu v těchto zamích ve 21.století a postavení v oblasti cestovního ruchu vybraných zemí v jihoamerickém a světovém kontextu. První dvě kapitoly jsou věnovány ekonomice a postavení cestovního ruchu v Jižní Americe. Třetí kapitola se týká Brazílie, poslední kapitola patří Argentině. V závěru je srovnání obou zemí.
