Proposal of the digitization of analog mammography centers
Večeřa, Martin ; Zavadil, Pavel (advisor) ; Vachoušek, Jaromír (referee)
1 Abstract The aim of this bachelor thesis is to propose digitalization of an analog mammographic center, its technical realization in its entirety including implementation, to compare digital and analog mammography and to evaluate its economic costs in a private senological center accredited by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic for breast screening. The economic return is expected to be in 15 000 examinations per year. From the calculations of annual costs and revenues the expected net profit of the mammographic center is 1 497 600 CZK. After 8 years of device-service the profit is 11 980 800 Kč. The fundamental lack of digital mammography is its price which is in comparison with the analog mammography much higher. This is an obstacle to current centers. Quality and rapid diagnostics of asymptomatic women with the elimination of false negative findings speak for digitizing the mammographic screening centers. In the future we can expect an extension of digital mammographs. Keywords: digital mammography, analog mammography, digital, mammograph, breast screening, economic return, price, mammography center, senological center

Wonderland behind the looking-glass and its touch
Brdička, Vojtěch ; Jirák, Jan (advisor) ; Kraus, Jiří (referee)
This work is the structured indictment of mediality in us. It argues that media do not satisfy us, nor we are controlled by them. We are much rather satisfied and at the same time controlled by the mediality inside ourselves. Mediality phenomenon is postulated here in the spirit of Jean Baudrillard's theory, not as a mediator of the relations between people, but as their killer. The expansion of digital media doesn't bring us closer to others, but it separates others from us in time and space. The others are transmitted to us only in the form of selected mosaic of images. This alienation is the result of a desire for our own particular worlds, not the conspiracy of power. Efficiency, speed, focus on result and positive thinking are the values that define the orientation of media development. The result is not imitation, but perfection. That's why we use the media. It lures us by the promise of immortality, but in conclusion it only creates a lifeless sign from us. Every human desire is ambivalent, and the desire to create our own post-mortem images can become in its hypertrophy the fatal fulfilment of the death instinct.

The text aims to introduce television as a medium that is constantly evolving, as well as the and its audience. Based on this assumption, we will examine television from the perspective of several main media theorists. In fact, there are several basically different views on this medium and its audience. Especially older writers such as Pierre Bourdieu, Neil Postman, Jeremy Orlebar or Guy Debord, have become accustomed to television and the overall medial platform as manipulative and television audience passive. On the other hand, there are also several authors, who see media in progress, digitization and the emergence of new media as new possibilities. We are talking about Pierre Levy, Don Tapscott and Axel Bruns. Between the two opposites are still moving Stuart Hall and John Fiske. Special attention will be devoted to the issue of the gradual development of television as a medium and its audience. Television is in fact considered as one of the traditional (old) media, however, it is changing with technological developments and respond to innovation. I will try to answer the question of what television as we know it today, uses of old and...
