Mokhova, Natalia ; Kožená, Marcela (referee) ; Živělová, Iva (referee) ; Lace, Natalja (referee) ; Zinecker, Marek (advisor)
Náklady vlastního kapitálu, jež jsou ovlivňovány řadou interních a externích činitelů, významným faktorem ovlivňujícím rozhodovací procesy v podnikové sféře. Navrhovaná metodika řízení nákladů vlastního kapitálu je určená k použití v podnikové praxi a lze předpokládat její další rozvíjení v rámci navazujících výzkumných aktivit.

Ashamatey, Felicia Natacha
The study of sexuality education in Ghana's public schools is the main topic of the Diploma Thesis. A system of medical and educational techniques called comprehensive sexuality education helps people learn a wide range of aspects of human sexuality. The research materials were obtained during August and September 2022, when students had extended breaks. All 109 participants' responses were analysed using statistical software. The study's findings demonstrate a widespread viewpoint on the necessity of introducing more context-sensitive (81% of survey participants) received sexuality education. It places a strong emphasis on how parents and teachers shape teenagers. According to 31% of the students, the primary educational trend is toward abstinence as a means of preventing sexually transmitted illnesses. Additionally, it was shown that there is a relationship between gender and the way children are taught; women are taught about abstinence more than males, and 37% of women were unaware of any other forms of contraception save abstinence. While it is unimportant, there is no correlation between sexual awareness and religiosity. The study also reveals that the majority of respondents (98%) are assured in their decisions regarding sexuality and have strong opinions about their sexual behaviour.

Voldřichová, Magdaléna ; Rynda, Ivan (advisor) ; Špecián, Petr (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the process of preparation of the new Building Act, with regard to negotiation and balancing of public interests, specifically on the protection of nature, landscape, environment and cultural values. The thesis examines both the legislative process of adopting a law and the representation of the specified public interests in it. At the same time, the thesis reflects the outcome of the procedure, respectively whether and how the protection of the above-mentioned public interests will be treated in Act No. 283/2021 Sb. The research is conceived as an explanatory case study aiming not only to understand the phenomenon, but also to thematize the relationships of the involved stakeholders. The key sources of data for the research were written materials and expert interviews. The main finding is that the legislative procedure was legal and in accordance with procedural requirements, despite not fully standard. The legislation is also legitimate, adopted by legitimate political representation with eligible expert backing, and there are mechanisms for the protection of the selected public interests included. Key words: building act, legislation, legislative process, public interests, conflict of interests, decision-making process
Decision-making in cross-border cooperation in times of the COVID-19 pandemic
SCHNEIDER, Bettina
COVID-19 has caused unprecedented challenges to the decision-making process of cross-border cooperations. In consequence many cross-border cooperations are not able to travel abroad, leading to a fundamental shift from on-site to virtual collaboration. Existing research literature about decision-making and media use does not provide a thorough ex-planation of how the decision-making process changed and how the media is used. This study explores the change that the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has presented and the technological means project managers use to implement their decisions. For this study, eight project managers were invited to participate in an expert interview and to talk about their experiences of making a decision while working from home. This thesis con-tributes to the Media Synchronicity Theory and Lunenburg's (2010) sequential model by providing an understanding of the procedure of the decision-making process and its media use during the COVID-19 pandemic. The change of the decision-making process resulted in more effort during the now more asynchronous preparation of this process. Moreover, it was found that more documents have been created to visually support this process at any step and the importance of the preparation team has increased. Finally, it was found that due to the change of situation, the decision-making has changed as well and more media is used to support the communication. However, concerning the decision-making itself, it could be observed that although there is a wide range of media to support the decision-making (e.g., voting tools, decision-making trees, decision matrix), hardly any are used.
The enforcement of same sex marriage through the lens of multiple streams framework
Pluhař, Filip ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Hejzlarová, Eva (referee)
This thesis aims to describe and explain the process of advocating for an amendment to the Civil Code that would legalize same-sex marriage in the Czech Republic. This proposal which was introduced to the Chamber of Deputies in 2018 had never been approved. The current legislation allows gays and lesbians to enter into a registered partnership with limited rights compared to the institution of marriage. The thesis should identify the arguments and strategies used by the same-sex marriage policy entrepreneurs. Furthermore, it aims to find the reasons which led to the rejection of the proposed amendment. The perspective of Multiple streams framework is applied to the whole issue. Analysis is based mainly on the findings obtained from the interviews with policy entrepreneurs and the deputies who voted on the amendment. Transcripts of the Chamber of Deputies proceedings and media outputs were used as secondary data. The results show in which cases were the entrepreneurs successful and at which stage of the process the opposite was true. The thesis then describes possible reasons that led to the failure and attempts to justify why certain strategies and arguments were ineffective and did not convince the deputies - decision makers.
