Workplace for measuring capacity and rate-capability characteristics of lithium-ion batteries
Cápal, David ; Máca, Josef (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with the issues of lithium-ion batteries, describing common types of commercial lithium-ion batteries, their advantages, disadvantages, and characteristic properties. The thesis focuses in more detail on the influence of temperature on the characteristics of lithium-ion battery. The thesis describes the design and construction of a workplace for measuring capacity and rate-capability characteristics of lithium-ion batteries at low and high temperatures. The thesis also describes the implementation of a cooling and heating module using a system based on Peltier devices.
Sodium-ion batteries: research of carbon-based negative electrode materials
Homolka, Tomáš ; Libich, Jiří
This paper is mainly focused on research of hard carbon as promising negative electrode material for sodium-ion batteries. The first part deals with batteries and their usage in general. The next section deals with sodium-ion batteries, their development and differences compared to lithium-ion, as they seem to be one of the promising post-lithium technologies with the potential of quick commercialization. The emphasis in this work is put on the negative electrode materials for sodium-ion batteries based on hard carbon as an active electrode material.
Updating the capacity model of roundabouts
Patočka, Miroslav ; Bačová, Katarina (referee) ; Kumpošt, Petr (referee) ; Radimský, Michal (advisor)
The doctoral thesis deals with a new approach to the characteristics of traffic flows at roundabouts in relation to the capacity estimation. The currently used methodology, which was introduced in 1973 by Werner Siegloch, is based on imprecise assumptions and simplifications, which may ultimately distort the results of capacity assessments carried out according to the existing valid national regulation. This thesis uses not only an innovative procedure for obtaining empirical data by image analysis using so-called computer vision, but above all, the process of gap-acceptance of main-stream time clearances by minor stream vehicles is solved as a stochastic phenomenon. This approach aims to replace the deterministic values of the critical gap and follow-up headway with an appropriate probability density function that will meet empirical data in the best way.
Crossroad I/38 X II/408 near Znojmo - Study
Becková, Lucie ; Jakl, Tomáš (referee) ; Radimský, Michal (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is to create a study of a junction of roads I/38 and II/408 located in an unincorporated area near Znojmo town. Out of the total of three proposed variants, the first replaces the existing condition with a circular intersection, and the remaining two variants offer a grade-separated junction solution. The proposed solutions eliminates possible collision situations and replaces the existing intersection, which in its current disposition does not comply with trafic safety regulations.
Modification of the intersection of Palackého and Krátká streets in Holešov
Dlhopolček, Michal ; Patočka, Miroslav (referee) ; Smělý, Martin (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor study is to design renovation of a T intersection of roads II/432 and II/438 in city Holešov. The intersection is on the west side of the city Holešov, which is located twenty kilometers north from regional city Zlín. Solution of the intersection are not convenient, especially for trucks connecting from street Krátká to center of city Holešov. Which creates traffic jams long around 175 m and reach near rail crossing, thereby creating an additional traffic risk. From three variations, was choosen one that fulfils all requests, like smoother conection to intersection, safety ride in roundabout. Increasing the capacity and ensuring sufficient quality of the intersection from the side way and even the main roads.
Sodium-ion batteries: research of carbon based negative electrode materials
Homolka, Tomáš ; Máca, Josef (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
This work focuses on the research of hard carbon as a promising negative electrode material for sodium-ion batteries. The first part deals with electrochemical cells and their development in general. Then lithium-ion cells, their history and the materials currently used are mentioned. The next section discusses sodium-ion cells, their development so far, current issues and differences compared to lithium-ion cells, as they appear to be one of the promising post-lithium technologies with the potential for rapid commercialization. In the practical part, properties of some material samples are tested with a focus on their capacity and coulombic efficiency.
Comparison of different types of commercial lithium-ion batteries and their properties under low temperature
Bičák, Tomáš ; Máca, Josef (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of lithium-ion batteries. Describes development, technologies and materials used. The diploma thesis describes the operating principle, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. The work is focused on the characteristic properties of commercial lithium-ion batteries under standard conditions and at reduced temperatures. At reduced temperatures, changes in properties due to low temperatures are observed. Furthermore, in this work they compare the measured values with the values given by the manufacturers.
Volume indicators and the performance of junior representatives in cross-country skiing
Suchánková, Barbora ; Přibyl, Ivan (advisor) ; Mojžíš, Otakar (referee)
This work is intended primarily interested in the cross-country skiing, whether the general public engaged in this sport, and coaches and athletes who have the opportunity to look into the training and performance indicators junior reprezentants for the past 6 years. The work deals with the basic characteristics of cross-country skiing, and not least on the sports training and performance in this sport.
Prognostic estimate of needed capacity of facilities providing care for elderly in Nový Jičín District until the year 2030
Dubcová, Ivana ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor) ; Burcin, Boris (referee)
The main aim of the thesis is to estimate a needed capacity of nursing homes and houses with home help services in the district Nový Jičín. The year 2030 was chosen as a time horizon. Current facilities, age and sex structure of their users in this district were described by means of field inquiry. The proportion of users of facilities was estimated from real population of the district at specific age. Important part of the thesis is a forecast of population growth of the district, which was based on the previous population development there. This trend was compared with population development in Moravian-Silesian region and in the Czech Republic as a whole in the special chapter. The estimate of needed capacity of above-mentioned facilities connects the forecast of the future development of age structure of elderly with contemporary availability of the facilities providing care for elderly. The thesis also describes the development of facilities providing care for elderly in the Czech Republic, furthermore it analyses the factors that can influence demand for these facilities.
