Financial Analysis of Ravak, Inc. and Inter-company Comparison

The theme of this thesis is a financial analysis of the Ravak, Inc. from the view of external user for the period 2004 to 2009. In theoretical part of the thesis , there are defined meaning and importance of financial analysis, its users, information sources and methods of financial analysis. The practical part includes basic information about the company and application of theoretical knowledge to the financial data of Ravak, Inc. In another part of the work, the methods of financial analysis are applied to a selected group of competitors for the purpose of inter-company comparison. Conclusion contains evaluation of results and financial situation of company and their major competitors.

Creation and application of a financially-economic evaluation of selected company

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to create a system of a financially-economic evaluation of selected company. First, a common financial analysis was performed. This analysis also included the prediction model. The common financial analysis was modified because of the property and capital specifics. As a result were received the modified indicators of profitability and assets. However, these indicators were not able to determine the causes of the development. It was, therefore, build up a pyramidal decomposition using a different production base. I have used all the mentioned procedures to interpret the financial situation of the selected company.

I elaborated the analyse by doing horizontal and vertical analyse of a balance sheet and income sheet, ratio analyse, analyse of the net working capital, pyramidal decomposition of the return on equity, comparison of balance rules, economic normal and using of failure and solvent models, calculation of economic value added and comparison to competing company

The application of bankruptcy and solvency models on companies in insolvency proceedings

This bachelor thesis elaborates the application of seven bankruptcy and three solvency models on six companies. All of the companies are in insolvency proceedings. The theoretical part concerns with description of the models. The practical part is focused on the results of the models applied on companies and rating information capability of the models. The purpose of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate successfulness of information capability of the models and assess the convenience of their usage.

Assessment of the explanatory power of models

The object of this paper is the application of solvency models and bankruptcy prediction models on two companies and assessment whether the models are capable of correctly classifying both companies. Models are used on companies Hartmann-Rico a.s., which is in good financial-economic situation, and Pliva-Lachema a.s., which was threatened by bankruptcy and from 1st January 2010 is in liquidation. The first part is devoted to the issue at the theoretical level. In the second part is this issue applied on both companies and is evaluated with which accuracy the companies were rated by different models. The conclusion will be assessed the explanatory power of models.

The first part (theoretical)is focused on the subject of financial analysis, methods and indicators for financial analysis. Then, in the second part (practical) is implemented financial analysis of the company PSVS, a.s. It is mainly an analysis or profitability, liquidity, stability and models of financial standing. Finally, summarizes all important evidence.

The bachelor thesis contains financial analysis of the company Českomoravská stavební společnost s.r.o. In the methodical part, there are explained financial statements, particular indicators (horizontal and vertical analysis, ratio indicators) and also their systems in bankruptcy and credibility models (Altman model, Index IN95, Taffler model, Kralicek quicktest). In practical part, the calculations of these indicators and models are performed. The results are interpreted.
