Evaluation of the error rate of the InBody 770 and Bodystat 4000 devices in case of violation of the measurement conditions specified by the manufacturer.
Pevalová, Nicole ; Adamík, Richard (referee) ; Bedáňová, Kamila (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the error rate evaluation of the InBody 770 and Bodystat QuadScan 4000 bioimpedance devices used for human body composition analysis. The theoretical part of the thesis contains technical knowledge about the individual instruments as well as a description of the bioelectrical impedance used by the aforementioned instruments for their operation. The practical part consists of measurements of subjects using both devices. The monitored variables are impedance, BFM (body fat) and TBW (total body water). The measurements consist of a reference measurement on each device separately and then four error measurements are made where the measurement conditions set by the manufacturers are not followed. The measured values of impedance, body fat total body water were statistically compared using a two-sample t-test. Instrument error was quantified using the mean relative deviation of the error measurements from the reference measurement.
Relation of body activities on composition of the human body
Frechová, Vendula ; Zemanová, Jana (referee) ; Vránová, Dana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deal with relationship between physical activities and constitution of a human body. The first theoretic part is focused on components of foodstuff which are important for human nutrition, energy metabolism and different types of movement activity. The particular components of a human body such as body water, active body mass and body fat are described in the next part of the thesis. Diagnostic methods of human body’s constitution are mentioned in the last part. An analysis of a body constitution has a task to diagnose body components quantitatively and therefore provides main information about fitness. The practical part of the thesis contains influence of physical activity on body constitution, which was tested on the first group of people, and a study of eating manners of the second group of people.
Low carbohydrate regimes (low carb diet, the cyclical ketogenic diet, intermittent fasting) and their impact on cardiorespiratory fitness, body composition, muscular strength, sports performance and muscle cells resistance against exercise
Kysel, Pavel ; Vilikus, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Otáhal, Jakub (referee) ; Stackeová, Daniela (referee)
(EN) Low-carbohydrate diets are a debated topic in relation to athletic performance, overweight and obesity, but also to the health status of the individual. The impact on health and fitness is still ambiguous. The aim of this study was to compare and investigate the effect of a low carbohydrate, in this case ketogenic, diet on body composition, sports performance at different exercise loads and levels of selected circulating cytokines. Our study aimed to investigate the effects of a cyclic ketogenic reduction diet (CKD) vs. a nutritionally balanced reduction diet (RD) combined with regular resistance/aerobic training in healthy young men for 8 weeks. Participants in both the CKD and RD groups reduced their body weight, body fat, and body mass index (BMI) values. In the CKD group, the amount of fat-free mass (net body weight) and the amount of water in the body decreased. In the RD group, however, the volume of these parameters did not change significantly. Muscle strength parameters were not affected in the CKD group, while maximal strength performances in chest pulldown and lower limb press increased in the RD group. Similarly, endurance performances were not affected in the CKD group, whereas maximal power output and maximal oxygen consumption increased in the RD group. Our findings suggest that...

Title: Profile of youth footballers as goalkeepers Objectives: The objective of this study was to compare selected parameters of body composition, level of static postural stability and level of lower extremities explosive strength between male and female goalkeepers in soccer and between selected age categories. Methods: A total of 33 male (n = 22) and female (n = 11) soccer goalkeepers participated in the study. They were divided into six test groups based on gender and age category (14-15, 16- 17 and 18-19 years) for performance assessment. These groups were assessed for basic anthropometric data (body height and weight), body composition parameters (% body fat, fat free mass), and level of static postural stability (deviations of the total center of pressure path) in four types of stands (narrow stand open eyes/closed eyes, right/left lower limb stand) and lower extremities explosive strength (jump height, relative force impulse, relative maximum force produced) in four types of jumps (counter movement jump free arms, counter movement jump, squat jump, drop jump). We used a Tanita MC-980MA bioimpedance device (Tanita Corporation, Japan) to assess body composition parameters, a Footscan pressure plates (RSscan International, Belgium) to assess postural stability, and a KISTLER 8611 force plates...
