History of athletics in Domažlice
Haasová, Simona ; Kašpar, Ladislav (advisor) ; Dlouhý, Martin (referee)
Athletics is a popular sport in Domažlice. It is performed by athletes of all age groups who have no awareness of their club or their sport. This is one of the main problems. There has been no solid records taken so far, summarizing the activities on the athletic field of this geographical region. Therefore, this thesis should bring closer the history of athletics in Domažlice and evaluate the activities of athletics clubs in this region from the very beginning to the present, with a particular focus on AC Domažlice club. Marginally the thesis should be dealing with general history of athletics in Czechia and in the world.

Method: In a quantitative empirical study in the form of a quasi-experiment, a group of performance athletes from track and field sports club ASK Dipoli z.s (n = 10, 6 girls, 4 boys) underwent a 2-month intervention program to support the foot arch. Separate exercises for activating and stabilising the foot arch took place 3 times a week for 10 minutes. In the data collection, diagnostic tests, biomedical and physical measurements related to the foot arch were used in both the pre-test and post-test: aspection, palpation, evaluation of leg stabilization, anthropometric data regarding the foot arch, evaluation of the foot printed on paper, and other specific tests. Using the Excel software, the results were recorded and statistically processed at the level of comparison of values between each test. Results: As a result of the intervention, 2 of the 10 probands experienced changes in leg stabilization, which was assessed with a test by standing on 1 leg. All 10 probands experienced foot-shaped changes: the foot posture index (100%) test in particular showed...

Analysis of the use of social sites as a key communication tool of the Czech Athletic Federation and their's change over time
Kolář, Adam ; Turková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Chladová, Marta (referee)
In my diploma thesis, I deal with social networks - specifically the social networks of the Czech Athletic Federation. It uses them as one of his main communication channels. Several quantitative and qualitative methods were used in the research. The main goal of the resarch was to compare social sites of the Czech Athletics Federation in 2019 and 2022. It was found that the main goal of the Czech Athletic Federation remains the same in the long term - to inform about the results of Czech athletes. Otherwise, however, social networks have undergone a transformation. The biggest difference over the years can be found in Instagram Stories, which the Federation has taken care of and significantly improved them over that three years. Media routines have also changed. Czech Athletics Federation tried to not be outdated, which is why a TikTok account was made and Instagram Reels were regularly created. The biggest failing can be seen in posts on Instagram, which practically copied Facebook. Overall, however, the year-on-year change on social networks can be seen positively, with which corresponds the growth of fans.

"It's just a state of mind" - An Ethnography of Pain and Injury Among Elite Athletes
Korečková, Adéla ; Halbich, Marek (advisor) ; Poděbradský, Oldřich (referee)
The main topic of this thesis is pain and injury. The research on these two phenomena, which are closely related to elite and high performance sports, was conducted in the environment of a training group of elite athletes - throwers. The aim of the thesis is to describe how these researched athletes react and how they experience pain and injury. Pain and injury are two distinct concepts that may or may not occur together. Pain is a more subjective phenomenon, whereas injury tends to be viewed more objectively. Athletes test the limits of the human body in training and competition, and it is very common for both of these phenomena to occur. A culture of risk-taking is also associated with testing the limits of the body, which is also included as a research subquestion in the thesis. In order to gain a more comprehensive view of the researched issue, not only the athletes themselves, but also the coach, sports doctor and physiotherapist were involved in the research. Qualitative methods were used during the research, which consisted of observations, interviews and document-based data.

The statistical software IBM SPSS Statistics was used for statistical operations, tests and graphs. In addition, tests of normality, homogeneity of variances and comparisons of results of correlation analyses, analyses of variance and partial post-hoc tests were used. Results: Based on the analysis of the dataset of athlete testing results in the Sports Centres it was found that, between 2019 and 2022, there was a significant deterioration in general movement performance in all categories studied, particularly in the male and female student categories aged 14 to 15 years. Comparison of the physical fitness of registered athletes - elevs and the general population of children of the same age category in athletic quadruple
Růžičková, Daniela ; Kašpar, Ladislav (advisor) ; Bunc, Václav (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the comparison of the performance of registered athletes of the elevs category and children of the general population of fifth grade in athletic quadruple. The athletic quadruple consists of 60 metres run, long jump, 600 metres run and cricket ball throw. The main objective is to determine, how much specialization at an early age affects athletic performance. A sub-objective is to compare the performance of registered athletes and children of the general population using mathematical and statistical methods in each selected discipline. The performance measurements took place in the USK Provod club and at the Mírová elementary school in Ústí nad Labem. The total number of the research population is 40 children, 20 registered athletes and 20 children of the general population, 10 girls and 10 boys. The data from my research show that specialization and regular training at an early age were able to significantly influence the performance of registered athletes. The category of registered athletes performs better than the category of children of the general population in all the specified disciplines.
Healthy lifestyle of children in an athletic hobby group
Mundil, Petr ; Hanková, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Kočí, Jana (referee)
The target of the bachelor's thesis is to find out the way of life of children who attend the athletics hobby club and to compare their daily routine with generally valid recommendations that should be followed if we want to live a healthy and quality life. Finally, after evaluating the results of the case study, propose appropriate adjustments and changes leading to an increase in the quality of life or an improvement in sports performance. The theoretical part is dedicated to clarifying a healthy lifestyle and defines generally valid recommendations that a person should follow if they want to live a healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, the theoretical part is devoted to the topic of educating children about health in schools, comparing the way of life in history and today. The practical part takes over knowledge from the theoretical part and, using a case study, finds out how children live in an athletics hobby club. The results of the analysis are then compared with generally valid recommendations. The children are then given recommendations for improvement based on the results of the analysis during the interview.
