Halásová, Michaela ; Soudek, Jan (advisor) ; Fišerová, Tereza (referee)
In many cases the organization of major sport events brings various benefits to hosting economies, especially those resulting from encouraged tourism. However, these events carry extensive costs coming mostly from public resources which could be used for other purposes, e.g. healthcare. The main goal of this thesis is to analyze the socioeconomic impact of the Ice Hockey World Championship 2015 on Prague and the Moravian-Silesian Region using a Cost-Benefit Analysis in which costs and benefits are summed up and benefit-cost ratio calculated. In our analysis we conclude that the event was beneficial not only for the Czech Ice Hockey Association; the hosting organization reporting profit of 450 million CZK before taxes but also for the regions with a benefit-cost ratio of 5.53, meaning that the benefit created equals 5.53 times the amount the regions invested into the event. Moreover, in this analysis we confirm an overall positive effect of the championship on tourism. Čajánková, Aneta ; Jüptner, Petr (advisor) ; Hájek, Lukáš (referee)
The bachelor's thesis is a case study that deals with the influence of factors that influence interest in the post of mayor of small municipalities in the Moravian-Silesian Region. This thesis describes Czech local politics, which is very specific due to its large number of small municipalities in the Czech Republic. The local politics of the Czech Republic is extensively researched, thanks to many important authors who have devoted themselves, for example, to local councils, rural municipalities, or the creation of coalitions or parties of representatives. Research usually comes to the conclusion that there is no interest in the post of mayor in small municipalities, yet no work published so far describes the exact reasons that influence this interest. Since this phenomenon of interest has not yet been specifically described, however, the circumstances confirming lack of interest are very specific, this work is based on qualitative research. The aim of the thesis is to find out what affects the mayor's interest in the post of mayor. To fulfill the aim of the work, he uses case studies and conducts seven semi-structured interviews with mayors of small municipalities in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is evaluation of the concentration levels of selected heavy metals (arsenic, beryllium, cadmium, cobalt, chromium, copper, nickel, lead, vanadium, and zinc) in agriculture soils on 19 sampling points in Moravian-Silesian Region. The Central Institute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture provided data for this thesis. The samples were collected as part of the Basal Soil Monitoring in sampling cycles 1995, 2001, 2007, 2013 and 2019. The contents of risk elements in soils were determined by the optic inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy after the Aqua regia decomposition in the National Reference Laboratory ÚKZÚZ. Villages Oldřišov, Markvartovice a Nové Sedlice in Opava district were the least contaminated. The most contaminated locality was Město Albrechtice in Bruntál district, here, the legislative preventive value for copper and lead content, and the indicative value for cadmium and zinc, were exceeded. The preventive values for chromium and nickel content were exceeded in the part of the city Žilina in Nový Jičín district. The highest concentration of zinc was found in Marklovice in Karviná district, where the legislative indicative values were exceeded multiple times. It was not possible to determine from the provided sample data if the concentration of heavy metals is increasing in generally long-term perspective.
