First part reveals important life milestones, which affects his philosophical mindedness reflected in his work, as well as his view of the literature and its values for a human. Second part of this thesis is focused on ethical values, which in Fuks works (Pan Theodor Munstdock, Spalovač mrtvol and Myši Natálie Mooshabrové) are the most occurred. The goal isn't only to show how the ethical values like life and death, truth and lie, good and evil, existence and absurdity affects character's lives in novels, but also their relativity. The Comparison of Literary and Film Narrative (Ladislav Fuks: Spalovač mrtvol)

The topic of this bachelor thesis was an analysis of the literary text and its film adapta-tion and subsequent comparison of the two. Material for this particular comparison was the novella The Cremator by Ladislav Fuks and the film version of the same name directed by Ju-raj Herz. The analysis of Fuks' book was done according to Seymour Chatman's Story and Discourse. During the analysis of film adaptation, we tried to a divide the movie into the sec-tions similar to those we used in our novella's study, and then we described those sections. In the final chapter we outlined some problems that might occur during the process of adapting of the literary text and finally we compared the novella and the film. As a result of the comparison of the novella and its film adaptation we concluded that Herz's movie is one of the best adaptations and one of the best Czech films ever made.

Stylization procedures in texts by Ladislav Fuks

This thesis deals with the stylization procedures used in the belletristic and journalistic texts written by Ladislav Fuks. The aim of the thesis is to define and demonstrate the basic distinctive methods and procedures such as repetition, intertextuality, ambiguity and mystification, ambivalence and autostylization. This thesis follows the methods mentioned above in characteristic exposures and transformations and examines the diversity of functions these methods fulfil in several texts of different nature. Furthermore, this thesis occupies with the relationship between these methods and author`s artistic stylization as well as to what extent he can be cogitated. This thesis is directed to defining the uniqueness of Fuks`s writing method which offers a variety of reading approaches. It allows to look at Fuks`s writing from different angles and observe the intensity of author`s personal attitudes projecting into his texts.
