The target of this diploma thesis is the transformation of the countryside after the Second World War in the territory of the former district of Horšovský Týn, whose existence is defined in the years 1945-1960. The work, based on the study of primary sources from the State District Archive of Domažlice, located in Horšovský Týn (primarily from the ONV Horšovský Týn resource), the study of periodicals and secondary literature creates a picture of the post-war border district, which had to go through a series of revolutionary changes during its existence. Using the example of the memoirs of Walter Bernklau, who as a German was deported from Czechoslovakia after the Second World War, the work shows what fates the German-speaking population had to go through during the deportation and what awaited them in their new home. The second half of the work is mainly devoted to the development of agriculture in the region, the history of auxiliary cooperatives in the district of Horšovský Týn in the years 1945-1948 and the collectivization of the region after 1949. In the last chapter, the work on selected...

Cibulková, Alžběta ; Záruba, František (advisor) ; Šmied, Miroslav (referee)
Castle chapell in the Horšovský Týn The purpose of the work is to examine its resemblance and to do the research on its functionality since its creation (1260- 1270) to 1988, when extensive reconstruction was finished. The chapel is kept in this state till today. Each chapter is focused on particular period of existence of the chapel including castle and chateau. The first period is a period of bishop castle. The cirsterian-burgund building hut was invited to the Horšovský Týn and the hut built the chapel on a small area which was originally one castle chamber. Another important chapter is period of Jan Popel jun. from Lobkowicz, during which the big fire of whole town of Horšovský Týn broke out in 1547. The castle was also affected by fire including chapel, where the stability was damaged. Subsequently the chapel was fixed and fitted with renaissance frescos ordered by Jan Popel jun. from Lobkowicz. Then the work will be focused on period after 1834, when part of vault on the west side was removed and replaced with beamed ceiling to 1988, when extensive reconstruction was finished. The work is not solely focused on enumeration of architectural modifications of chapel, but is also focused on its artistic value such as architectonical value, chapel decoration and equipment.
