The elections in the České Budějovice region in 1946 and 1948, comparison from the perspective of economic and social history

This thesis deals with the situation in the České Budějovice region after World War II. from 1945 1948. It is focused on the post-war economical and social situation of the region and on the elections in 1946 and 1948. In the first part, the state of post-war Czechoslovakia in 1945 1948 is described. This part deals especially with economical and social development of Czechoslovakia. It describes the establishment of the National Front of the Czechs and Slovaks and its the system of its working. And portrays the allowed political parties (the communists, national socialists, social democrats and the People's Party) a their programmes. The second part introduces the České Budějovice region in the 20 th century. It deals with the postwar difficulties of econimical and social situation of the region, especially the transfer of the German population. The third part is focused on the elections. It describes election order of the Third Republic and deals with the elections' results a compares them with the results in Bohemia. And pursues the possible cause of these results.
The History of Bukovec from the 18th to the Half of the 19th Century

The topic of the master thesis is the history of the village of Bukovec near Horšovský Týn, beginning with the early 18th century to the half of 19th century. The timeframe was chosen on the one hand with the consideration to the already written history of the village until the late 17th century, while the other boundary was defined by the revolutionary year of 1848, which brought major changes in the functioning of municipalities and their governments. Bukovec was a part of the large Trauttmansdorffs' dominion with its centre in Horšovský Týn throughout the specified period. It was also the seat of the parish: The analysis of manor and parish documents allows largely understand the social and economic ties within the village, and outline its historical development in the described period. From the Wold of Business to the World of Planned Distribution A Look into the Development of Czech Consumer Cooperatives: 1945 - 1956 (Ústí nad Labem Region) The dissertation deals with changes in the content, forms and roles of the Czech consumer co- operatives in the years 1945 - 1956. This issue is a theme in four surveyed areas (territorially - organizational structure, the role of co-operatives in the Czechoslovak economy, relations with the Communist Party, economic activity of co-operatives). These are prerequisites of the transformation of consumer cooperatives from autonomous business entities in the subordinate sections of the state-organized distribution. The dissertation analyzes this transformation in its various stages and puts it into a broader context of Sovietisation, creation of a system of centrally planned economy and the economic, social and political development of Czechoslovakia during the researched period. History of brewing in Velké Popovice

This bachelor thesis explores the beginnings of beer brewing industry in the village of Velké Popovice. The crucial part of the thesis dedicated to the brewery is preceded by a brief analysis of the relevant literature. The following section outlines the development of beer brewing since its coming to existence in the global context and in the Czech lands, with special attention dedicated to the crown cities, nobility, the guild system and periods of crisis. The core of the thesis focuses first on the history of Velké Popovice and is continued by the history of the brewery since the first mention of its existence in the 16th century written sources. Then it scrutinizes the historical periods of changing ownership until the founding of the current brewery by František Ringhoffer in 1874. Attention is also paid to the cultural and historical influence of the premonstratensians and the benedictines on the pre-industrial beer brewing, cultural and historical development of the whole estate, as well as their influence on the economic and social structure of the inhabitants.

Jan Lhoták Borough landed estate of Sušice. From borough villages to abolition of corvee and its results (abstract) The aim of this doctoral thesis lies in its contribution to a complex problem of economic development of Czech landowning towns in the post-White Mountain period. The research is focused on a selected problem of town feudalisation, i. e. analysis of the importance as well as extent of their seignorial activities. Czech historiography has dealt with such a topic rather marginally, because towns used to be understood as a strange element in feudal environment, which on the contrary created conditions for social modernisation. Aristocratic (chamber) or church landed estates used to be studied as a matter of priority. Introductory chapter balances current research on the topic of borough landed estates. General survey of the research in Western Europe is presented first. Seignorial ambitions of towns are part and parcel of a vast outlined study of mutual relation between the town and the country. The topic has already been applicated in archaeology and medievistics. Incorporated brewery in Smichov 1918-1948

This thesis is a case study of the Schareholding brewery in Smíchov in the years 1918- 1948. It not only focuses upon its contribution to the business history in interwar Czechoslovakia, but also charts its transition from a successful joint-stock company with a full market economy to a mixed economic system with central planning. The development of the company is the development of the company is examined through the analysis of business strategy, looking at the approaches of the shareholders and management regarding investment, modernization, division of profits, lending tools and support sales. Attention is also paid to the business mentality of the company's management and its development at the time of the First Republic. The work also provides an insight into business in Czech society during the interwar period and is a contribution to the history of the Czech brewing industry.
Economic crisis in 1929-1934 and its impact on the Jablonec glass industry with special reference to Železný Brod region

A B S T R A C T This thesis analyzes the impact of the economic crisis in 1929-1934 on the Jablonec glass making with main attention to the district Železný Brod. One of the main causes of decline of the Czechoslovak glass industry in the first half of the 30s of 20th century was formed by pro-export focus. The region of Železný Brod and Jablonec nad Nisou had represented sites with major export, production and refining of glass that were for this reason by the economic crisis strongly affected. Deteriorating economic conditions at the beginning of 30s have resulted in intensified state intervention in industry, including the glass manufacturing as one of the most affected industrial areas. Because mostly cartels had regulatory function in the industry, a number of agreements among the glass producers in Jablonec nad Nisou and Železný Brod area were concluded. This thesis considers with different types of production and refining of the glass in order to offer the complete overview over the glass production in districts Jalonec nad Nisou and Železný Brod. The Changes of agricultural Landscape of Microregion Sedlčany in the years 1850-1943

The thesis is focused on the economic situation development in the Sedlčany region from the first half of the 19th century till second half of the 20th century. The period observes changes from the agrarian landscape. At the end of period of the Second Czechoslovak Republic the landscape could be described as agrarian-industrial landscape. Traditionally, the Sedlčany region is considered industrially influenced. The presented thesis deals with confirmation or disproof of this idea. The research tries to find the potential focuses of dynamic economic development. If the focuses existed in the past, the research deals with comparison economic development of the Sedlčany region with other parts of Bohemia and finds the circumstances of the development. The economic situation of this area is located into wider context of the industrialization in the Czech countries during given period. Of course, the phenomenon of industrialization process relates to many factors, such as demographic development, transportation, trade, banking, agriculture and administrative activities. The diploma thesis analyses the economy of Ukraine and its importance from the world economy perspective. The work strives to investigate what key economic areas of influence Ukraine has and how development of Ukraine can impact other countries. At the beginning, this thesis analysis the history of the Ukrainian economy, all its struggles and successes. Subsequently, this work defines why and how the current situation in Ukraine is important to the world. Mainly, relationship with the European Union is considered. The thesis is concluded with an overview of economic predictions and scenarios of future development announced by international organizations.
