Time Management as one of the managerial competencies

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of time management as one of the managerial competencies needed to successfully perform managerial work. The diploma thesis shows a theoretical point of this theme, its application in practice and empirici research. The main aim of diploma thesis is to show to managers the possibilities of such self- assessment may be carried out in the field of time management, discover their strengths and weaknesses in this area and find potential opportunities for development. To develop the empirical part of diploma thesis I chose technique of management shadowing, method of 360degree feedback and Competency Based Interview. Into the research I have included three manager women of non-profit and profit organizations. The research resulted serious and less serious individual shortcomings in the theme of in time management. The most serious shortcomings may include reluctance to delegate tasks, which is due to a lack of confidence in the ability of colleagues and subordinates managers, and inability to reject the request due to a sense of guilt against the applicant. Employment opportunities for information professionals in corporate sector

This bachelor thesis is focused on employment opportunities of information professionals in the labour market in conjunction with current educational possibilities in the Czech Republic. The thesis provides a detailed overview of competencies related to information profession within six information areas. Furthermore, it also monitors local and international trends in this field. The second part aims to evaluate usefulness and practicality of selected professional courses currently offered within the Information studies and librarianship at the Faculty of Arts at the Charles University in relation with the needs of graduates in the corporate sector.
Educational programs for the digital libraries sphere and digitisation on information and library science schools in the USA

(in English): The aim of diploma theses Educational Programs for the Digital Libraries Sphere and Digitisation on Information and Library Science Schools in the USA is to compare studying programs of chosen schools of information science and librarianship in the USA for digital libraries and digitisation sphere and according to this analysis make some recommendations for ÚISK FF UK. In the theoretical part there are competencies for that field introduced and its development in praxis and education is showed. In the practical part of the work follows the analysis of chosen american schools of information studies (universities Chapel Hill in the North Carolina, Michigan, Boston, Illinois and Syracuse), where the issues of digitisation and digital libraries are taught. Based on this analysis continues the work with some recommendations possible for using in the ÚISK FF UK.
Supervision as a source of support for midwives

This work is focused on the profession of midwifery and supervision in this profession. The main objective was to identify the sources of stress and perceived support midwives in their work and determine, whether the supervision rendering source of support for midwives. The theoretical part is concerned with the context of the profession of midwives and then presents the profession in the Czech Republic, especially the education and competence, as provided for developing legislation. For comparison options are, also presented Conditions profession of midwives in selected European countries. Separate chapters are devoted to sources of stress to which the midwife faced in their work, the concept of resilience as its counterweight and finally sources of support that midwife in the exercise of their profession can earn. In the empirical part of the thesis is a qualitative research technique using focus groups. Its aim is to describe the factors that act as sources of stress or support in the profession of midwives as they see themselves. Using analytical story is then presented contemporary painting experience midwives set in the context presented in the theoretical part. The diploma thesis "Current issues in adult education in the helping professions" deals with present possibilities of life-long education of a helping professional. In the theoretical part it focuses on the general terminology and specifies the terms that characterise the helping professions. It introduces the issue of competencies, which, at the present time, have become output categories in the educational process. The thesis describes individual phases of a professional career and educational opportunities which are connected with the different phases. Compliance with legislation by healthcare professionals in the ICU

The topic of this diploma thesis is the compliance with legislation in an area of competencies of general nurses and special nurses working in intensive care units (ICU). The aim of the investigation was to map out, how nurses in the ICU comply with legislation in the area of their competencies and whether their work is influenced by anything. The results showed two trends - situation within a specific unit, that means whether nurses contravene their competencies; whether nurses are aware about their competencies and about competencies of doctors and in addition why nurses are contravening their competencies and what is the opinion of doctors on compliance of competencies for medical professionals, what is the position of management towards contravention of competencies by nurses . Furthermore, the situation overall, that means existence of further regulatory measures, which impact on the conduct of nurses within units. On the basis of those findings the following recommendations are made for leaders of department.
