Relationship of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia towards the Catholic Church and Religion during the First Czechoslovak Republic

Relationship of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia to catholic church in the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic The bachelor thesis analyzes the relationship of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia to religion and churches in the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic. It is based on an analysis of the contemporary party press through which the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia disseminated its views and informed the Czechoslovak public about its political actions. In particular, the author seeks to establish whether the persecution of the Church that occurred after the Communist Party seized full power in 1948 could have been predicted. At the same time, the author aims to discern whether the views and attitudes of the Communist Party towards religion evolved and changed during the interwar period. The Parish Budišov u Třebíče in the 2nd Half of the 20th Century Abstract: The Diploma thesis "The Parish Budišov u Třebíče in the 2nd Half of the 20th Century" approaches the life of the parish of Budišov u Třebíče between years 1950 and 2000. In context of the political-religious situation, it tries to map out religious life of the parish, introduces all of the church administrators, and watches the relationship between the village and the parish and all the reconstruction work accomplished in mentioned time. The main sources of information are materials from national and diocesan archives and also materials from archives of the security forces. The parish and municipal chronicles are helpful sources too. Saint Zdislava of Lemberk and Saint Elizabeth of Hungary

The work presents the life of both saints Zdislava and Elizabeth of Thuringia, and also the external context, which largely affected their lives. Saints are described here in their wide range, both through our history and the history of European nations. The structure's work corresponds to a defined plan. The first chapter deals with the contemporary background and major events that occurred just before their birth and their lives. The following two chapters depict Zdislava own and Elizabeth's life, their work. The next chapter describes the work of saints in the social field. The fifth chapter is devoted to a comparison of the two saints with Saint Agnes. The last chapter contains evaluation figures Zdislava and Elizabeth of Thuringia and their significance for today. The concept of the work is based on the conviction that the stereotypes describing the lives of the saints can be overcame. The author seeks a new perspective on the work and life of both saints - Zdislava and Elisabeth. Problem of Sacrament with especial regard to Eucharist and Matrimony

This thesis Problem of Sacrament with especial regard to Eucharist and Matrimony deals with issues of the Sacrament, a relation of a visible and invisible level in the Sacrament, a role of a symbol and a comparison of a conception of the Sacrament in the orthodox, reformed and catholic churches from the religionistic point of view. Further, this thesis deals with two selected sacraments: the Eucharist which is the Sacrament in all the churches, and the Matrimony which most of the churches do not recognize as the Sacrament. In the issue of the Eucharist, there has been solved a progress of its understanding and a comparison of a conception in particular churches. In the issue of the Matrimony, there have been presented options why it is possible or not to recognize it as the Sacrament, then a comparison of a conception of the selected churches, an issue of a confesionally mixed marriages and an issue of divorces.

Drugs addiction and Church's position

English abstract This thesis is entitled "Požívání návykových látek a stanovisko církve", or, in English, "Use of Addictive Substances and Attitudes of the Church." It aims at providing - at least a limited - description of this problem, which is a negative feature of modern history of the Czech Republic. Following a shift in its political system in 1989, when a liberal capitalist system replaced a Communist system, the structure of values and the social structure of Czech society - young people in particular - changed much. Most of the data that I use apply to the Czech Republic and, to a lesser degrese, the European Union and the US. I look at these data from the perspective of the Catolic Church, that is to say, Christian ethics, morals, and the Canon law. I also examine the effect of evil with regard to this issue. The belief that the real situation of using addictive substance is very bad and extremely dangerous for the future hasproved to be correct. The Czech republic is one of the worst affected countries in Europe in term of using addictive substances (tobacco, alcohol, and illegal drugs). This is due to underestimating and taking a negligent approach to the problem in the past, among other factors. This had resulted in a rapid increase in use of these substances and in related crime. Madelaine Delbrêl - inspiration for lay spirituality Abstract Madeleine Delbrêl is one of significant personalities in the Catholic Church in the twentieth century. Her way of life and her thoughts, in particular those regarding universal vocation to sainthood and mission influenced the Second Vatican Council. Her prophetic inspiration about lay dignity based on baptism was after thirty years expressed in many council documents and so contributed to a change of lay status in the Church. Abstract The aim of this project was the study of the ordination law, the history of the hidden church, and the subsequent research and comparison of all "types" of secret ordinations in all levels (ordination and consecration) granted during the Communist regime of 1948-1989 in Czechoslovakia or to Czechoslovak citizens abroad, especially from the perspective of the canon law. The presented dissertation consists of an introduction, seven chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter gives the basics of the ordination law, the second chapter describes the relations between the Church and the state during the relevant historical period in Czechoslovakia and the first secret Episcopal ordinations. The third chapter introduces the Mexican faculties.
