DIPLOMA THESIS Comparison of Case Studies of Methods Used for Students with Mild Mental Disability at Primary Schools and Primary Schools Established under Paragraph 16, Section 9th Education Act Jindřiška Papežová ABSTRACT The diploma thesis deals with comparison of the application of possible support measures for pupils with mild mental disabilities in primary schools and primary schools established pursuant to Article 16 (9) of the Education Act. The aim of the work is to point out available support and the use of support measures in the context of education of pupils with mild mental disabilities in primary schools and primary schools established pursuant to Article 16 (9) of the Education Act. This issue is interconnected with inclusive education. The diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical one aims at specifying the concept of mild mental retardation and defining a pupil with a mild mental disability in the context of education. Prevalence of kratom use among 8th and 9th-grade students in primary schools in the Nymburk district - a questionnaire survey

Background: Mitragyna Speciosa - a plant, more commonly known as kratom, that has a history and tradition in Southeast Asia for centuries. In recent decades, it has been gaining popularity worldwide. In addition to its benefits, which include energizing, pain and stress relief, and reducing opiate withdrawal symptoms, kratom use carries health risks along with the development of addiction. In the Czech Republic, kratom is not yet legislated, its use is not regulated and everyone, including children, has access to it. Aims: The aim of this study was to map the lifetime prevalence among 8th and 9th graders in the Nymburk district and patterns of use, their awareness in terms of effects, risks and availability, sources of information about kratom and attitudes towards it. Methods: The data were collected using a paper questionnaire in four primary schools in the Nymburk district. The schools were selected by random sampling. 287 pupils participated in the survey. Results: 17.8% of pupils had experience with kratom. Boys reported experience more often than girls. More than half of the respondents with experience have used kratom at most twice, got it for free from a friend and tried it out of curiosity. Aspects of promoting well-being in primary school with focus on exceptionally gifted students

This thesis focuses on the wellbeing of students in education. Specifically, it concerns pupils of two parallel classes attending a primary school with a specific organization of education for exceptionally gifted pupils. The aim of the paper is to capture the pupil`s subjective feelings in relation to aspects of the school environment that have been implemented to promote pupil`s wellbeing. The first part of the thesis includes a theoretical background that summarizes the knowledge on the issue of wellbeing. It focuses on the aspects that may influence wellbeing in education, taking into account the teaching of exceptionally gifted pupils. The second part of the thesis contains a description and results of the actual research investigation, which was conducted in two stages. The first stage of the research investigation used a quantitative method of data collection through a questionnaire, the respondents were pupils in two parallel classes at a selected primary school. Based on the analysis of the results of the first stage of the research survey, the basis for the questions for the second stage of the research survey was created. The Level of Lower Secondary School Students Data Literacy in the Context of Environmental Education

This thesis focuses on data literacy and its application in the field of environmental and science literacy. The aim of this thesis was to map data literacy in environmental education among second grade elementary school students. This aim of the thesis was fulfilled through a test that involved data analysis, sorting and comparing data, and making decisions based on the data presented in the context of an environmental situation within four environmental education tasks. It was found that, on average, 68% of the pupils were able to extract the correct data from the attached maps, graphs and tables, 59% of the pupils were able to compare the data correctly with each other and 60% of the pupils were able to use the data presented to make decisions in the context of the environmental situation. The bachelor’s thesis describes various ways of teaching vocational training in today’s world. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes the basic concepts of vocational training, its history, organization, methots, and forms of implementation. In the practical part, a questionnaire survey was conducted to determine how students perceive the professionalism of teachers in theoretical and practical education and whether the subject matter covered in vocational subjects is sufficient for today’s needs. The second part of the survey focuses directly on students in vocational training, examining the aspects that are crucial to them when choosing vocational practice and what influences their approach and performance in vocational practice the most.

This bachelor thesis content is focused on the success of disciples in school in regards of problems in a family environment. The main goal of this work is to find out how a problematic family conditions affects the disciples success in school. In theoretical part of this work, I will define individual influences and concepts, that are closely related to school success. Next, I will define individual influences that considerably affect school success. The following part of this bachelor thesis is dedicated to family environment. Every individual person throughout life lives in different family conditions, that may affect them in their own way in their academic upbringing. Because of this, I incorporated in this work different kinds of conditions. Since my work is focused on period of high-school education, I dedicate to characteristics of adolescence in my work. The final chapter of the theoretical part is focused on individual functions of family and the problematic burdens on it. Empirical part of this bachelor thesis refers to my results obtained in exploratory investigation, data needed for this research I obtained using a qualitative method. I used semi-structured conversation form, individual data I then analysed, using open coding and thus, I got the necessary results that are part of the empirical part.

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the analysis of teaching methods in vocational education in the field of carpentry. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether something can be changed or modified in the teaching methods in this field so that the graduates gain sufficient knowledge to perform their work in a self-sufficient manner. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part discusses key competences, technical and practical skills and didactic methods. Furthermore, two pedagogical approaches to teaching are pre-sented - the Transmissive and the Constructivist, and the Research-Oriented Tea-ching pedagogical approach. The last chapter presents teaching methods in vocati-onal training and how they are used in teaching. In the practical part, the teaching methods are presented seeded into one teaching day with the same topic and bro-ken-down how this day would look like.

The bachelor thesis focuses on students' opinions on the effectiveness of rewards and punishments in high schools and is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. The theoretical part explains the concepts of reward, punishment, and motivation from the experts' perspective and their application in education. The practical part aims to determine how high school students perceive these concepts. The data for this work was obtained through a questionnaire survey at high schools. The overall contribution of this thesis is to provide useful information for pedagogical practice and life in general.

The theoretical part deals with the definition of narcotic and psychotropic substances, the division of drugs, their description, circumstances influencing individuals to abuse them, prevention, adolescents and the current situation in secondary schools. The bachelor's thesis deals with the education of pupils with special learning disabilities in secondary schools. The theoretical part consists of the definition of terminology and clarification of individual learning disorders. It also includes diagnosis and re-education of specific learning disabilities. The theoretical part is processed on the basis of information from professional sources on the studied issue. The practical part consists of an exploratory investigation focused on individuals with a specific learning disability. It uses a qualitative approach and contains the elaboration of three case studies. The exploratory investigation is based on the method of semi-structured in-depth interview and observation. The survey also draws on individual documents of the respondent, such as an individual educational plan or recommendations from pedagogical and psychological counselling services. The main goal is to find out how students with a specific learning disability manage the demands of their studies. Another area of interest is finding out what helps students in their studies and what, on the contrary, burdens them. We also find out how do teachers help them and how do they perceive their specific learning disability. Furthermore we examined what are the pupils' relationships with their classmates and how did they perceive the transition from primary to secondary school.
