Machining of bio-composite materials
Obid, Daniel ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on machining of composite materials mainly from natural fibers. The first part describes the production of composite materials and the methods used for their machining. The practical part of the work is devoted to the study of the influence of tool choice and cutting conditions on the cutting process and the quality of machined surfaces. The measured data are analysed using regression analysis.
Effect of material moisture on mechanical properties of a FDM printed part
Matějka, Tomáš ; Zouhar, Jan (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
This thesis deals with the effect of humidity to the mechanical properties of 3D FDM printed parts. The aim of the thesis was to experimentally determine the rate of infulence of humidity to the mechanical properties, according to selected tests, for 3D printed parts by FDM method. Furthermore the course of air moisture absorption over time was monitored. The thesis contains description of the machines and material used. The way in which materials absorb moisture is also described here. Based on the research were selected specific materials, PLA, ABS, PETG, ASA and Nylon PA12. Tested samples were produced on a Kossel Linear Plus 3D printer from Anycubic. First experiment dealt with weight loss due to drying and the weight change due to air mositure absorption over time. This was followed by experimental evaluation of changes in tensile properties of the samples. In the next part of the thesis the change in toughness of materials was evaluated. There were made analysis of the macrostructure of the quarries for both tests. Furthermore the hardeness change was measured depending on the presence of moisture in the original samples. A microtome cut was made to analyze the results. The last part of the work was the economic evaluation of drying processes, which resulted in specific recommendations for the storage of printing materials.
Recursive linear models and conditional independence structures
Zouhar, Jan ; Studený, Milan (advisor) ; Hlubinka, Daniel (referee)
Linear recursive systems (LRS) describe linear relationships among continuous random variables (typically, normally distributed ones). Acyclic oriented graphs are used to provide a qualitative description of these relationships. In a different branch of statistics, graphs serve as a means to describe conditional independence (CI) structures in systems of random variables. One of the aims of the thesis is to show that within the class of regular Gaussian distributions, both approaches coincide: for a given acyclic oriented graph, the statistical model of LRS specified by the graph is equivalent to a class of Gaussian distributions with CI structures that accord with the same graph. Furthermore, we generalized some of the relations between a graph of LRS and its CI structure outside the scope of Gaussian distributions. Another focus of the thesis is the relation between the graph of a LRS and the covariances among its variables. We derived a relationship that is analogous to the method of path coefficients which was introduced in the 1920s by the American geneticist Sewall Wright.
A retargetable code-generator
Zouhar, Jan ; Bednárek, David (advisor) ; Král, Jaroslav (referee)
This work is focusing on a retargetable backend design for a C++ compiler. The backend is composed of two parts: a target architecture description and a code-generator. The architecture description is based on the XML language. A source XML le is an input for XSL templates that generate C++ classes with the architecture's characteristics such as instructions, supported data types, registers, etc. These classes are used by the code generator as a source of information about the target architecture. The code-generator is architecture-independent. The main phases are: instruction selection, instruction scheduling, register allocation, spill-code generation. The generated output is an assembly source code.
Manufacturing technology of centrifugal compressor for small jet engine
Remer, Radim ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with redesigning of the current technological manufacturing process and subsequent production of a centrifugal impeller of a small tubojet engine. Thesis is divided into three main parts. First part deals with the theoretical background of the turbojet engines and the centrifugal impeller. Next part is focused on the proposed manufacturing technology of the centrifugal impeller using machining. Final part of the thesis deals with evaluation of the achieved goals.
Design of oscillating head for surface welding of Inconel 625
Franc, Tadeáš ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the structural design and production of a oscillating head for surface welding of a protective layer of Inconel® 625 superalloy on membrane walls. The design is preceded by a research for possible variants of the solution. Of the two designs, one was successfully manufactured and assembled, and incentives for future improvements were set. For easy optimization and testing of the device, an oscillating motion program was created in the LinMoT Talk 6.9 software. The production costs for the manufactured equipment were then calculated and the recommended selling price was determined, based on a general calculation formula. The result of the project is a functional device, a proposal for its control and a technical - economic evaluation of the production process.
Bonding of composite materials in precise applications
Schubert, Vojtěch ; Zouhar, Jan (referee) ; Kupčák, Radim (advisor)
This work is focused on the bonding of composite materials. Related research dealing with technology of production and bonding of these materials was additionally conducted. Practical part of this thesis was set to find out what the optimal bond line thickness was for the bonding of the composites. Thus, the strength of single-lap joints (SLJ) in series of various bond line thicknesses was therein tested. A model of samples (and design of their production by wet lay-up) for the experiment is also provided in this thesis.
Manufacturing of parts with lattice structure and topological optimization
Pospíšil, Jan ; Zemčík, Oskar (referee) ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals vith the design of welding torch holder using topology optimization and lattice structure. The objective of this thesis is gaining knowledge about topology optimization in different software and aplication of methods to that part. Conclusion of this thesis is about production design and economic evaluation.
Manufacturing concept of a composite swing arm
Gregor, Lukáš ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor)
The subject of this master’s thesis is manufacturing design and production of CFRP swingarm prototype for off-road motorcycle. Theoretical part describes conventional types of swingarm, provides basic introduction to composites and manufacturing technologies. Practical part describes production steps, assembly jigs and assembly process. The last part of thesis deals with measuring stiffness properties using photogrammetry system TRITOP.
Construction and production of 3D optical scanner
Běhůnek, David ; Zouhar, Jan (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on an optical method for 3D scanning. There is selected photogrammetry for creating 3D models. In the practical part, a mechanism for automatic photo capture is designed and manufactured and 3D printed with using a digital camera, Arduino microcontroller and stepper motors. There are proposed two methods of capturing photographs with which digital twins of reference objects are created. The result of the work is a functional 3D scanner. The next are evaluated used methods as well as the production costs and the time required by the operator when creating a digital copy of the object is listed.
