Energy policy of China in global perspectives

I decided to dedicate my bachelor thesis to China and its energy policy. Specifically, I chose the area of energy and mineral resources because in recent years China has experienced a huge economic boom. The usage and the growing demand for natural resources must have largely contributed to the growth of its economy. In the future these resources will certainly serve to consolidate the growing influence of China. The aim of this thesis is to highlight the importance of natural resources in the Chinese economy, to observe the trends on the future development of the Chinese market of raw materials. Moreover I will deal with investments in the region and prospects for the future.
Threats for the Future Economic Growth of China with Special Attention to Environmental Aspects

The objective of this bachelor thesis is to examine possible threats for the future economic development of People's Republic of China. Special attention is dedicated to the environmental threat that I find as the most serious. The first chapter analyses basic trends of the contemporary chinese economy and tries to outline prospective future development. The second chapter examines the main threats - structural, political and demographic. The last part of the thesis is concerned with enviromental threats.
Financial crisis and its impact on public finances

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to analyze impact of financial crisis on public sector, especially on public expenses and government budget. First part describes mortgage crisis and its causes. Further there is an analysis of its impact on financial sector and origin of financial crisis, which after all led in economic recession. The second part is devoted to government rescue plans to boost the economy and financial system and evaluation of their efficiency. The last part is focused on debt crisis of developed countries and its possible solutions.
The influence of economic crisis on regional integration in Asia

The thesis describes the development of integration in Southeast Asia, therefore ASEAN mainly, and the influence of world economic crisis on development of this integration. Its interest is mainly the way in which the member states reacted to the crisis and how they changed their attitude towards regional integration afterwards.
Economic Relations between the Czech Republic and China

This thesis aims to analyse the economic relations between The Czech Republic and China according to the statistical, institutional and contractual data. It is supposed to assess its importance especially for the Czech economy and show possibilities of entering the Chinese market. The second part of the paper analyses the Chinese market itself and in the third part the prediction of future development is outlined.
Current Economy of Hong Kong Under Chinese Administration

The main objective of this work is to analyze the current economy of Hong Kong and also its position under the Chinese influence, their interrelationship, or to capture the fundamental changes that took place after the handover of Hong Kong to China. The first chapter is devoted to the principal characteristics of the economy of Hong Kong, particularly to its economic structure and macroeconomic data. The second section deals with international trade, which is divided into international trade in services and trade in goods. It also mentions direct investments and the current account of balance of payments. The third chapter summarizes fundamental impacts of the Asian financial crisis of 1997-1998 in Hong Kong. The last chapter explains the relationship of Hong Kong with the People's Republic of China and it also deals with Hong Kong in the period after the handover to China.
Economic aspects of the unification of the Korean Peninsula

This thesis analyzes the development of both south and north economies after the Second World War, development of their mutual relations and current economic situation in both countries. It focuses on the future of the Korean Peninsula, the main accent is put on its reunification, related problems and costs. Attention is also paid to the international impact of the unification.
China´s trade relations post-WTO accession

First chapter describes World Trade Organization. This chapter describes foundation, agreements establishing this organization and its structure. Second chapter focus on trade liberalization in China and on its transition from centrally planned economy to socialist market economy. Third chapter is analysis of China's trade relations post-WTO accession. It describes China's trade relations with its most important trading parners USA, EU, Japan, ASEAN and its specific trade relations with Special Administrative Region Hong Kong and with Russia.
East Asian Crisis in South Korea and the Role of International Institutions

The aim of this paper is to provide greater insight into the role of international organizations, notably the International Monetary Fund, during the crisis in South Korea and objectively evaluate their actions. The first chapter describes the economic development in historical context and subsequent causes of the crisis in South Korea. The second part is devoted to the course of the crisis, its effects on the economy and also the measures that were adopted by the Korean Government. This section also describes the response of the IMF as the major international institution, responsible for the rescue project. The third part focuses on the agenda of the Washington consensus and proposed changes.
Position of Singapore in the world economy

The thesis is focused on the analysis of current Singapore's economy, including macroeconomic data with emphasis on foreign trade and investment, which are the engines of the economy and identify the main focus of political and economic strategy of the country. The objective of the thesis is to find main causes of success of the country, name them and find out what results Singapore achieves in some sectors in comparison with the world's leading economies.
