Graphene as the active layer for gas detection
Zach, Pavel ; Prášek, Jan (referee) ; Gablech, Imrich (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to sum up theoretical knowledge concerning gas detection by sensor with a graphene active layer. It is focused on principles and construction of selected sensors. Furthermore, this work describes values characterizing the measurement results. Both crystallographic and electrical properties of graphene are discussed as well. This thesis explains the methods of production of graphene and its derivatives and also gives a look into selected characterization methods for the study of graphene. Furthermore, this work describes the phenomena behind the sensor's ability to detect gas. At the end of this study, the results of gas measurements (NO2, NH3, H2 etc.) by a graphene transistor are interpreted.
Control unit for Eurorack audio modular system
Zach, Pavel ; Novotný, Radovan (referee) ; Levek, Vladimír (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to design and implement a control system for a Eurorack modular audio system. The system consists of a voltage controlled oscillator, circuits for its control and is equipped with MIDI connectivity. The theoretical part describes the different sound synthesis methods and how the synthesis is implemented. Furthermore, the text discusses the integrated circuit used and the MIDI protocol itself. The practical part focuses on the design of the control block, which contains a voltage controlled oscillator. The module provides signals for other modules of the Eurorack platform and is capable of communicating with a computer and other MIDI peripherals.
New Movements in the Church and Postmodern Spirituality
Noska, Martin ; Lachman, Jan (advisor) ; Zach, Pavel (referee)
Growth of the postmodern spirituality is caused by the transformation of our society from modern to postmodern one or from industrial to information type that has begun in the middle of the 20th century and continues to the present. These social changes affect not only churches, but also for majority of human beings the relationship to God. Postmodern man/woman does not like archaic traditional forms of the spirituality; he/she tries to live his/her relationship to God in individual specific form, sometimes completely modified according to their visions. It causes the spiritual deregulation, which is the typical phenomenon of present time. Many new movements in church based on postmodern principles try to satisfy the spiritual needs of today's men/women, for whom are the old church institutions functionless. In my opinion, this trend will continue in future in this direction. The growing of new movements and the decay of the old institutions is easily noticeable already today. The main characteristics of postmodern spirituality are for example the charismatism, emphasis on personal relationships, evangelicalism, spontaneous missionary activities and the new forms of ecumenism.
