This master's thesis "The activity of charitable organizations of the Catholic Church - compared to other organizations" aims to present the charity itself. It discusses the social effects of Churches in the Czech Republic, describes the service to the needed and presents the list of registered churches that are professionally involved in the social field. Mainly deals with the Caritas of the Czech Republic. The focus is on the diocesan Caritas in the Czech province, including: the Caritas Czech Budejovice, the Catholic Charities Diocese of Hradec Kralove, the Caritas Litomerice, the Caritas Plzen, the Archdiocese Caritas Prague, and Greek Catholic charity. The analysis was not determined only by defined areas of individual archdiocesan, diocesan or regional parishor charities, but also by the type of service (human development aid, social and legal counseling, sheltered workshops, probation system, retirement homes, etc.) as well as by the typologies of people, which the individual charities care (homeless, ex-convicts, women in need and their children, etc.). Children Sponsorship Programme - Exploration of the Activities of the Archdiocesan Charitas of Prague

The bachelor's thesis titled Exploration of the Activities of the Archdiocesan Charity Prague focusing on the Adopce na dálku® (remote adoption) project provides information about the activities of this charity focusing on the project, which facilitates access to education for children from underdeveloped countries. The Adopce na dálku® project is analysed here in detail, being highlighted as the most significant one. The thesis contains both positive and negative evaluation of the project, including little research concentrated on how charity and sponsorship of children are perceived in the catholic and non-catholic environment. Comparison of the pastoral and charity care for the senior citizens in the Archdiocese of Prague

The diploma thesis "Comparison of the pastoral and charitable care for the elderly in the Archdiocese of Prague" enquires into the relation between the pastoral and charitable care for the elderly in the Archdiocese of Prague and the quality of accessible local services. It seeks to define the meaning of being old in the 21st century, deals with the questions of ageing and old age and the perception of these phenomenons in the broad social context. The thesis underlines the dignity of old men as well as their specific psychological and spiritual needs. The second part of the paper inquires into the principles of the charitable and pastoral care and it tries to sort out the accessible services. The last, empirical part contains the methodology and interpretation of the research among the charitable and pastoral institutions and parishes.
