Interactive web applications for image processing education
Krolop, Filip ; Záviška, Pavel (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
Introduction to theory related to applets that will be used for educational purposes, creation of custom design, draft of their basic functionality and control elements, followed by own implementation and optimization. This is an interactive submission of image processing algorithms specifically, applets are focused on color models, their relationships and calculations between each other: 1 / Pallet (index) image representation, 2 / Colormixing in different models, 3 / Color image conversion to grayscale image, 4 / Conversion of a grayscale image to color image (false colors). Applets implemented using HTMLand JavaScript to demonstrate the theory and encourage students to interact.
Restoration of audio signals damaged by quantization
Šiška, Jakub ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Záviška, Pavel (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the restoration of audio signals damaged by quantization. The theoretical part starts with a description of quantization and dequantization in general, few existing methods of dequantization of audio signals and theory of sparse representations of signals are also presented. The next part introduces algorithms suitable for dequantization, specifically Douglas–Rachford, Chambolle–Pock, SPADEQ and implementation of these algorithms in MATLAB application in the next chapter. In the last part of this thesis, testing of reconstructed signals using the algorithms takes place and results are evaluated by objective measures SDR, PEMO-Q, PEAQ and subjective listening test MUSHRA.

Berky, Martin ; Záviška, Pavel (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with separation of moving objects from static unchanging background in video sequence. Thesis contains description of common method of separation and approach based sparse signal representation. In the practical part of thesis, there were created video sequences, which are used to verify designed algorithm implemented in Matlab interface, disegned to obtain separated background from damaged video frames.

This diploma thesis deals with separation of moving objects from static unchanging background in video sequence. In this thesis are described common method of separation and access using sparse signal representation. In the practical part of thesis was created video sequences, on which is verified the designed algorithm, implemented in Matlab, for obtaining background from damaged video frames and comparing this methods.
Restoration of signals with limited instantaneous value for the multichannel audio signal
Hájek, Vojtěch ; Vrba, Kamil (referee) ; Záviška, Pavel (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the restoration of clipped multichannel audio signals based on sparse representations. First, a general theory of clipping and theory of sparse representations of audio signals is described. A short overview of existing restoration methods is part of this thesis as well. Subsequently, two declipping algorithms are introduced and are also implemented in the Matlab environment as a part of the thesis. The first one, SPADE, is considered a state- of-the-art method for mono audio signals declipping and the second one, CASCADE, which is derived from SPADE, is designed for the restoration of multichannel signals. In the last part of the thesis, both algorithms are tested and the results are compared using the objective measures SDR and PEAQ, and also using the subjective listening test MUSHRA.
Restoration of signals with limited instantaneous value using a psychoacoustic model
Beňo, Tomáš ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Záviška, Pavel (advisor)
The master's thesis deals with the restoration of audio signals that have been damaged by clipping. Used methods are based on sparse representations of signals. The introduction of the thesis explains the issue of clipping and mentions the list of already existing methods that solve declipping, which are followed by the thesis. In the next chapter, the necessary theory of sparse representations and the proximal algorithms is described, including specific representatives from the category of convex optimization problems. The thesis contains declipping algorithm implemented in Matlab software environment. Chosen method for solving the task uses the Condat algorithm or Generic proximal algorithm for convex optimization and solves minimization of sum of three convex functions. The result of the thesis is five versions of algorithm and three of them have implemented psychoacoustic model for results improvement. For each version has been found optimal setting of parameters. The restoration quality results are evaluated using objective measurements like SDR and PEMO-Q and also using subjective listening test.
Modern audio denoising with utilization of phase information
Skyva, Pavel ; Záviška, Pavel (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis deals with modern methods of audio denoising. Reconstruction of the audiosignal is primarly based on utilization of phase information of signals and phase derivatives. Denoising methods also use sparse signal representations. In thesis is described the way of searching sparse coefficients using proximal Condat algorithm and following computation of reconstructed signal using this coefficients. The reconstruction algorithms are implemented in the MATLAB software with toolbox LTFAT included. Results of the reconstruction are compared using objective evaluation method Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) and also by subjective evaluation.
Interactive web applications for support of teaching signal processing
Mašek, Petr ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Záviška, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of processing one-dimensional signals. Five interactive web applications have been created in JavaScript to support teaching. These are applets that relate to the following topics: rational number resampling of the discrete signal, mean and root mean square signal values, discrete linear and circular convolution in 1D, and discrete cross correlation. The thesis introduces each topic by a theoretical foreword, followed by description of implementation and user interface of the created applications and further there is a commentary on the development and testing of applets.
Image Bit-Depth Expansion Method Based On Sparse Representations
Záviška, Pavel
In this paper, a method for restoration of low bit-depth images based on sparse representations is presented. Proposed method is independent on the transform used, however for the purposes of experiments, Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) are used. The experiments show that our method enhances the visual quality of low bit-depth images and performs better, in terms of PSNR, than basic bit-depth expansion methods.
Applications supporting lectures on colour models
Khaladzinski, Kiryl ; Záviška, Pavel (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create Web applications that show the possibilities of working with different color models in real examples shows principles of digital images creation and the possibility of processing digital image data. Theoretical part devoted to the basic concept in color theory and the basis of raster images. The practical part is the design of four applications and their creation. The first of the applets shows the principle of mixing colors in different color models, the second on the example shows the basis of the index representation of the image, the third shows the methods of translating the color image to grayscale and the last applet is used to translate grayscale image to color image.
