Design and implementation of the soil resistivity measurement system
Dirbák, Štefan ; Ptáček, Michal (referee) ; Vrána, Michal (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with research and study of soil impedance measurement and soil resistivity. Currently, the issue of measuring and determining soil resistance is ensured through the gradual measurement of certain soil parameters at individual points of the surface (or depth of the ground). This thesis focuses on the idea of measuring soil resistance on a certain area using a network of electrodes through a suitably designed test, measurement and evaluation system. Such an approach may find application in the need to determine soil parameters (such as resistivity) on a specific demarcated area (or depth). The prospect of such an application can be seen in saving time, energy and money needed to measure the soil resistivity of a certain area (as opposed to gradual point measurements). The configuration possibilities of OMICRON CPC 100 measuring instrument were used for the design and implementation of the measuring system for the mentioned purpose. The work is completed by verification of the proposed solution by real measurement with evaluation of the results.
Design of wind turbine regulator
Kowalczyk, Wiktor ; Vrána, Michal (referee) ; Morávek, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with charge control of a lead acid battery driven by 300 W wind turbine. The thesis is divided into four parts. First deals with the issue of lead battery charge controllers and the definition of a regulator for a wind turbine with permanent magnet synchronous generator, including a description of the regulated system elements. The second part deals with measurments done on the given system. Third part describes the design, algorithms and regulator programming and the last part describes construction and testing of a built-in controller.
Distributed generation support for voltage regulation by means of power control
Majer, Šimon ; Vrána, Michal (referee) ; Blahůšek, Radim (referee) ; Drápela, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis is focused on voltage regulation in low voltage distribution system. It describes power management methods using photovoltaic inverters. The thesis describes the working PQ space of the inverter and the regulation characteristics of the active and reactive power in dependence on the voltage. The practical part focuses on the simulation of specific PQU control settings on the test models created in PSCAD. The model is used as a basis for real measurement. Outputs obtained from measurement and simulation are validated in the text. The last part of the thesis identifies limits for connecting resources with and without support.
PV inverter and hybrid inverter test bench
Sedlačko, Jozef ; Morávek, Jan (referee) ; Vrána, Michal (advisor)
Electricity production from photovoltaic power plants has been one of the fastest growing energy industries in the last decade. Number of small power inverters working parallelly with the low voltage grid is growing. At the same time, the requirements for the correct behaviour of network inverters in the network by the distribution grid operators are also increasing. The thesis deals with creation of a workplace for testing the operational and technical requirements for micro-sources. The first part of the thesis consists of literature search of inverter demands according to the current rules for parallel production operation. The second part deals with the setting up of test procedures and automation. The last part evaluates selected tests of the functions of the inverters.
