Systematic evaluation of quality of palliative care in the Czech Republic

In both the social work and health sector, there is an increasing emphasis on monitoring and improving the quality of care and services provided. In both areas, quality standards are already established in wider practice and attention is therefore focused on monitoring the quality of services and care at a system level. However, this requires the availability of appropriate tools. This also applies to palliative care, which is developing rapidly in the Czech Republic and whose need will continue to increase as a result of the prolongation of life expectancy. The theoretical part of this dissertation shows, through the example of palliative care, the deeper interconnection of the social and health spheres. It occurs thanks to its holistic approach to the patient and the irreplaceable role of social workers in a multidisciplinary team. There is also a growing demand in palliative care for systematic quality monitoring and improvement of care and services. The theoretical part summarizes knowledge regarding the development and use of quality indicators, presents examples of systematic quality measurement in palliative care abroad and compares their strengths and weaknesses. Medical Nurse as the victim of mobbing at the intensive and resuscitation care workplace

Key words: mobbing, bossing, psychical terror, aggressivity, conflict, team of nurses, human relations at the workplace. specialized working teams This bachelor dissertarion is aimed on the psychical terror on the medicinal workplaces. Its purpose is to recognize the problems of the mobbing in highly specialized teams of people, renderiug the care at the intensive medicine workplaces. It is no doubt about the fact, that relations among people can be dangerous at the moment, when somebody takes the advantage of superior position to systematic intervention into the professional and private life of other people. In the teoretical level I am concentrated on the utterances, reasous and the course of mobbing process. I give attention to the psychology of the victim and of the culprit I also want to draw near the possibilities of the prevence and the solution of this problem. The core of the dissertation is in the quantitative research in form of the questionnaire. This searching discloses real as well as potential victims of mobbing activities m the uurse - teams of the intensive care. Health support by a nurse in the primary care

The baccalaureate work is dealing with health support in the primary care, in particular with the activity of a nurse, and how the nurse can actively contribute to the improvement of the health level of the population. It evaluates, in which part of prevention and care the nurse should be more active, and which questions she is to target first. As a method there is used an interview of a selected group of respondents. The interview should reveal the level of knowledge in the field of alimentation, sporting activity and health care and support. The men - blood donors of age between 40 and 50 in the Transfusion Department of the Teaching Hospital in Hradec Králové were addressed. The output of the inquiry was put under analysis with the object to target the knowledge deficiencies. The results can be instrumental for the educational activity of the nurse in the primary care.
Posttraumatic stress disorder by soldiers comming back from peacekeeping missions

The bachelor's thesis describes the posttraumatic stress disorder by soldier's coming back from peacekeeping missions and the real psychological help provided to concerned soldiers. Theoretically informs about PTSD. More over summarizes the possibilities given within the scope of testing before leaving and after coming back from missions and the psychological care during the execution of a mission. In addition the information about military operations, which the Czech soldiers have taken part recently and are involved nowadays and its characteristics. The key part of this work is the field testing as to discover PTSD symptoms as well as the quality of health care after an accomplishing of missions. The field testing was done by an evaluation of the tested sample which is made of foreign mission participants being deployed during last five years into one or two military operations lasting more than 3 months.
Benefits of supervision: nurses' views

This thesis focuses on the issues related to supervision in medicine, possibilities for evaluation of the supervision and available evaluation instruments. The role of supervision in medicine and other care providing areas is discussed. Particular emphasis is on the occupational characteristics of medical nurses in retirement homes. This thesis also mentions context of clinical supervision abroad, especially in Great Britain. In research part of the thesis author studies the benefits of supervision in relation to the length of employment and experiences with supervision in particular functions (supportive, managerial and educational). We have not proven direct relationship between these factors and benefits of supervision. Qualitative analysis of data showed balanced benefits of particular functions of supervision. But open statements of respondents showed different results, when nurses above all appreciated supportive function of supervision. Instrument used for this study was questionnaire adapted and translated from english questionnaire and some issues related to its psychometric qualities and its use in clinical practice are also discussed in this thesis. Influence of the life style resulting in the obesity

Bachelor's thesis deals with an influence of the lifestyle resulting in obesity. In the theoretical part of the thesis I focused on the definition of a healthy lifestyle and on introducing of the problematics of obesity, its diagnostics, possibilites of treatment, risks and importance of the obesity prevention. The Empirical part is focused on the analysis of the clinic's for reduction of overweight and obesity clients questionnaire surveying. I tried to assess how the lifestyle is reflected on the nutrition condition of the selected group, to evalute the nutrition condition of clinic's clients and their physical activity and find out their attitude to their own health together with treating with it concerning the overweight and obesity.

How occupations differ in their approach to personal health

Annotatin The theoretic part of this bachelor thesis reviews the scope and importance of preventive medical check-ups and employer provided preventive medical care. Negative risk factors influencing our health and increasing the risk of disease were the main focus of this study. The practical part of this thesis is a quantitative evaluation study focused on different professions in their approaches and attitudes to health. Each profession was assessed on its health awareness, risk perception, lifestyle and emphasis on medical check-ups.
