Development of Desktop Applications on the NetBeans Platform
Vondráček, Martin ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (advisor) ; Rais, Aziz Ahmad (referee)
This thesis serves as an introduction to use of the NetBeans Platform for development of desktop applications. Its goal is to present the platform both on a compact example application and on a real-world scenario application. Secondary goal is to provide a summary of materials for further learning. The description of the particular pieces of the platform is interlaid with the step by step tutorial, which invites to further testing of the platform's features. Some principles of the platform are then presented in a source code from a real-world application. This application is a tool for authors and should provide an evidence of both academic and literary texts, notes and named entities (like characters, locations, terms etc.). The analysis of this tool and a description in a more detail is presented in the appendix. An organized summary of shortly commented links to other sources is there too. The main benefits of this thesis are: the demonstration of the NetBeans Platform on particular examples in context, and the summary of online materials for further reading.
MATERIALS SCIENCE BEAMLINE, ELETTRA TRIESTE - NEW INSTRUMENT FOR SURFACE SCIENCE
Vašina, R. ; Doležel, P. ; Vondráček, Martin ; Cháb, Vladimír ; Prince, K. C. ; Ressel, B.
The Materials Science Beamline is attached to a bending magnet at synchrotron Elettra Trieste, Italy. The tuning range is from 35 to 800 eV with calculated spectral resolving power E/delta E better than 4000 in the whole range. The optical elements consist of a toroidal prefocusing mirror, polarization aperture, entrance slit, plane pre-mirror, single plane grating (blazed), spherical mirror, exit slit and toroidal refocusing mirror. The plane grating is operated in the fixed focus mode with Cff = 2.4. Energy scanning is performed by rotation of the plane grating and simultaneous translation and rotation of the plane pre-mirror. In the first tests, a resolving power of at least 4000 has been achieved at energies of 400 eV. The calculated photon flux at the sample is compared with measured values. Various experimental chambers depending on experiments can be attached to the beamline (LEEM, ESCA).
Usability of groupware in leisure activities
Vondráček, Martin ; Kunstová, Renáta (advisor) ; Kapitán, Petr (referee)
Groupware products support collaboration in an enterprise environment, however their components are often used in everyday life. Also the collaboration is present in many different activities. This bachelor's thesis first analyzes the current use of groupware components (e-mail, discussion boards, and calendar) in the community of science fiction fans and deals with present problems in communication, cooperation and coordination. After that, it states requirements for the system, which should improve the situation. Finally, it evaluates selected system (a combination of Google services) and demonstrates its use. The purpose of this paper is to decide, how groupware is useful in the community, and prepare for its full deployment.
