Title of thesis: The effect of manual therapy on visual acuity. Goal: The main goal is to present theoretical facts about manual eye therapy, to examine the effect of manual therapy of oculomotor muscles on selected parameters: visual acuity, subjective evaluation using a questionnaire and eye muscle pain in patients with refractive errors and eye accommodation disorders. Methods: The research was completed by 20 patients with refractive errors and eye accommodation disorders, from aged 18 to 55 years. An initial and subsequent treatment and exit examination and of eye muscles with the help of manual techniques, in particular, reciprocal inhibition and mobilization of eyeball were performed. The initial examination was performed by an optometrist, who assessed visual acuity by using an Autorefractometr, Snellen optotype and Red-green test test. After than was performed the subjective evaluation questionnaire, then was performed palpation assessment of attachments of eye muscles. Palpation pain proband evaluated using the Numeric Pain Rating Scale. The resulting data were processed using statistical software R. A paired t-test was used to calculate p-values. Statistical significance was assessed at the critical significance level of 0.05 and 0.01. Results: Our measurement did not show a statically...

Vomáčková, Helena ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Kovanda, Jan (referee)
I ABSTRACT Autor: Mgr. Helena Vomáčková Title: The Possibilities of Evaluation of the Sport Performance on the Postural Functions - CDP Normative Data for Sport Population Objective: The main aim of the dissertation is to determine the standardized values (normative data) of individual parameters of test protocols obtainable with usage of dynamic computer posturography of the NeuroCom SMART EquiTest System (hereinafter SMEQ). The partial second goal is to compare the determined normative data with the existing values used for routine evaluation of postural stability given by the SMEQ software. Another partial goal is to determine the reliability of individual test parameters in an additional pilot survey. Methods: Data for the determination of standardized values were obtained by laboratory measurements using the SMEQ system and subsequently were converted, unified and adjusted for further processing by statistical "software R". To determine the normative data, an input data-set obtained from a deliberately selected group of active athletes (n = 245) in the selected age range of 20 - 30 years with an average age of 24,04 (± 1,23 years), with an average body height of 173, 29 (± 10,04 cm), mean body weight 68,46 (± 13,10 kg) and mean BMI 22,67 (± 3,04) was used. To calculate the predicted normative data for...

Juranová, Magdalena ; Vomáčková, Helena (advisor) ; Maršáková, Kateřina (referee)
Title: Postural stability in Ultimate frisbee players Aims: The aim of the work is to objectively measure and evaluate the dynamic postural stability of a deliberately selected group of Czech Utimate frisbee (UF) players and then compare the measured results with the "Athles Norm 20-30" (AN 20-30) standard, set for the sporting population. The postural stability of the research group of probands was measured once using the computer dynamic posturography - NeuroCom Smart EquiTest System. A partial goal of the work was to describe the results of measuring postural stability with respect to pivoting. This characteristic movement is used by UF players to obtain a suitable position for passing to a teammateduring the game. Methods: This is a scientific research work, specifically a quantitative observational cross-sectional study. The research group (n = 28) was, on the basis of predetermined criteria (to be an active UF player registered under the organization ČALD (Czech Flying Disc Association), age 18-35 years, to attend UF for at least 3 years and to have at least one national team start at the European Championships or in higher competition). UF players who met these criteria were included. Measurement on the Smart EquiTest System from NeuroCom was chosen as an objective way of evaluating postural...

Author: Bc. Petra Žitná Title: Evaluation of the influence of regular slackline activity on the dynamic postural stability of the sport population aged 20-30 years Aim: The aim of this work is an attempt to objectively evaluate the influence of regular slackline sporting activity on dynamic postural stability in comparison with a standard named "Athles Norm 20-30" (further stated as "Norm AN") set for sporting population aged between 20 - 30 years. Methods: The measurements were carried out in the Laboratory of kinesiology at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University. There were tested 10 participants aged 20-30 years doing the slackline sport for long time. For testing the dynamic postural stability were used the Sensory Organization Test, Unilateral Stance and Head Shake - Sensory Organization Test. The measurements on the NeuroCom Smart Equi Test were preceded by carrying out the Stork Standing Balance Test both in standardized form and modification. After specifying the statistic difference between the measured values and Norm AN there was used the Welch Test with the significance level of α = 0.05. For evaluating the correlations there was used the Pearson Test. As a high degree of reliability there was accepted the value of r ≥ 0.70. Results: There were recorded...

Almathami, Saad Hassan ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Vomáčková, Helena (referee)
The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of opened and closed loop cueing intervention on Parkinson disease patients gait function focusing on the temporal and spatial parameters of gait and to define the most effective cueing approach for different gait parameters and finally to examine the closed loop feedback system for regular usage in regular physiotherapy clinics or patients own homes. A 37 clinical trial including 1014 patients were investigated to reach an answer for this review questions. Results reveled that both open and closed cueing intervention has a positive effect on gait spatial, temporal gait parameters and capable to reduce the number of freezes in Parkinson diseases patients. Auditory cueing strategies had a superior effect on patient speed of gait with higher rhythm of cues and better overall gait function during dual tasking. Visual cues showed better effect on stride length and stride frequency. The close loop feedback system of cues still built on complex machinery segments which make it difficult to be used as regular intervention in physiotherapy clinics and patients own homes. As an overall cueing intervention found to be significantly effective as locomotive therapeutic approach on gait functionality, but each intervention procedure and methodology...
