Technological unemployment
Miňovský, Michael ; Vlček, Josef (advisor) ; Lupač, Petr (referee)
Will robotization lead to unemployment? What will be the society-wide impact of automation? Will it affect the economy? And what is the general macroeconomic and microeconomic context of such developments? These and many other questions are asked throughout this thesis. On the next 60 or so pages, a detailed overview of changes connected with robotics revolution is provided, while the primary topic is the issue of technological unemployment. Based on the study of historical evidence, there is a proposition pronounced on a qualitative difference between current technology and earlier technological milestones consiting in the ability of the machines to substitute not only routine manual work but the non-routine cognitive tasks as well. This hypothesis is then being developed and analyzed through a more detailed examination of the fundamental differences of robotics and the current technological foundation of industry and services. Viewpoint of other authors is also included as the objective of this thesis's author is not to be rediscovering well-known facts but to enrich the stint of knowledge in general. Thanks to this, it is possible to present some impressive results such as a list of probabilities of computerization of a wide spectrum of jobs for the next decades based on an extrapolation of the current...
Investment Valuation
Cápíková, Markéta ; Sieber, Martina (advisor) ; Vlček, Josef (referee)
My thesis deals with the evaluation of investment, specifically it focuses on investments in solar panels used for water heating. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. In the first part I summarize theoretical knowledge about investment valuation. At the beginning I explain what an investment is, and go on to explain the individual methods of valuation and I also examine the cost of capital in broad range. In the second half of the theoretical part I deal with the creation of the financial plan and with determination of the salvage value. At the very end of theoretical part, I abandon economic parameters and I try to briefly introduce the reader to the topic of solar panels. At the beginning of the practical part, I deal with the dimensioning of the solar system. In the next part I focus on evaluation of the specific example of the solar system, in which the knowledge acquired in the theoretical part is transformed into practice.

Martina Mikeszová : PHD DISSERTATION - HOUSING MARKET AND RISK OF HOMELESSNESS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC. ABSTRACT The PhD dissertation focuses on the theme of loss of permanent housing together with the problematic of housing affordability in the Czech Republic. In the first part, the objective is to identify the types of households potentially at risk of being unable to afford housing since 2000, and to trace the development of regional differences in the percentage of at-risk households in the Czech Republic. In the regard to the end of deregulation process in recent years, the analysis of housing (un)affordability of "market" rent housing shows the possible social consequences of the process. Owing to the absence of useful aggregate data on incomes and expenditures for different household types in the regions of the Czech Republic, the alternative data sources and the simulation methodology for measuring housing affordability which combines available regional wage statistics and data on market rents were used. The results indicate that the general risk of being unable to afford rental housing and regional differences in housing affordability are both decreasing. Not only the stagnation of market rent growth related to the growth of household income is behind the development. The main reason is the fact that...

The next part is devoted to the theoretical background applied in the work. After the theoretical part, there is the literature review followed by both, the qualitative and the quantitative investigation. The results obtained were compared with the results stemming from international research projects. In accordance with the Theory of Diffusion of Innovations, the participants of qualitative survey were labelled as innovators or early adopters, for whom technical knowledge is more important. But on the other hand, for later adopters, the interpersonal relationship is more important, as they can compensate the lack of technical knowledge this way. As follows from the results of qualitative survey, decision-making connected with the acquisition of electric vehicles is influenced by the overall awareness (or knowledge, experience), then by technical characteristics of the purchase together with economic factors and by the perceived expectations of other people.
