Design and verification of lab-scale spray column for CO2 capture
Veselý, Filip ; Bělka, Miloslav (referee) ; Malý, Milan (advisor)
The concept and design of the lab-scaled spray column for CO2 capture which is capable of using optical measurement technologies and provides variations of experimental conditions is crucial to research CO2 absorption using sprays. This thesis is focused on the design of the column and all necessary components. Furthermore, there are discussed experimental conditions and measurement technologies. It provides deep look at velocity profile adjustments and efficiency of the absorption for MEA and aqueous ammonia. There is a discussion about each configuration and its results including design adjustments suggestions.
Design of a spray column for CO2 capture
Veselý, Filip ; Malý, Milan (referee) ; Cejpek, Ondřej (advisor)
This work deals with methods of CO2 separation from flue gases in energy industry and industrial processes in order to reduce CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. Bachelor thesis discusses the post-combustion CO2 capture using spray columns. After literature review of separation processes and experiments conducted before, advantages and disadvantages of separation processes are discussed. The following part of bachelor thesis is dedicated to the analysis of spray column components. At the end of this chapter the suitable components are chosen and designed. The main outcome of the work is a conceptual design of a spray column. Spray column is designed for research purposes at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in spray labs. In the design procedure main aim was devoted to suitable spray columns design for optical experiments. During the spray column design the space requirements of the laboratory and economic of the design need to be accounted.
Distribution and number of wear debris particles around jouint replacements
Veselý, Filip ; Sosna, Antonín (advisor) ; Zima, Tomáš (referee) ; Koudela, Karel (referee)
Aseptic loosening due to polyethylene wear presents one of the most frequently occurring joint replacement complications requiring a revision surgery. Numerous scientific works and publications deal with the issue of morphology, determination and distribution of wear particles. Few studies, however, determine reliably amounts of particles in individual periprosthetic zones. The objective of this work was to evaluate the correlation between amounts of wear particles and periprosthetic osteolysis findings. Description of distribution of these particles in the surroundings of joint replacement presented further objectives of the work. Wear particles were isolated from granuloma obtained during revisions of total hip replacements. Amounts of wear particles were determined using IRc. These findings were correlated with X-ray examinations and intraoperative findings. Method of progressive enzymatic degradation of tissue was used in order to describe wear particles distribution in polyethylene granuloma and surrounding periprosthetic tissues. Results showed uneven incidence of wear particles in the surroundings of the total joint replacement. The incidence correlated with X-ray examinations and intraoperative findings. Distribution of particles was described as well as new determination methods and further...
PSO-Particle Swarm Optimizations
Veselý, Filip ; Jaroš, Jiří (referee) ; Schwarz, Josef (advisor)
This work deals with swarm intelligence, strictly speaking particle swarm intelligence. It shortly describes questions of optimization and some optimization techniques. Part of this work is recherché of variants of particle swarm optimization algorithm. These algorithms are mathematically described. Their advantages or disadvantages in comparison with the basic PSO algorithm are mentioned. The second part of this work describes mQPSO algorithm and created modification mQPSOPC. Described algorithms are compared with each other and with another evolution algorithm on several tests.
The Application of PSO in Business
Veselý, Filip ; Kaštovský, Petr (referee) ; Dostál, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with two optimization problems, traveling salesman problem and cluster analysis. Solution of these optimization problems are applied on INVEA-TECH company needs. It shortly describes questions of optimization and some optimization techniques. Closely deals with swarm intelligence, strictly speaking particle swarm intelligence. Part of this work is recherché of variants of particle swarm optimization algorithm. The second part describes PSO algorithms solving clustering problem and traveling salesman problem and their implementation in Matlab language.
