DIRECTING ONE’S OWN PLAY, ADAPTATION OR TRANSLATION AS WELL AS REGULAR DRAMATIC TEXT

Tomáš Loužný’s Bachelor Thesis follows foundations of his directing work both inside and outside of the realm of school projects. Meanwhile,two basic approaches to the text are being analyzed. First approach could be called interpretational and the second one authorial. The latter includes adaptations of a theatre plays as well as novels. In the first part the key concepts upon which the thesis is built are introduced. Second part comprises of a closer analysis of three productions: Její pastorkyňe (Her Stepdaughter), school production from rural realism, bachelor production of the theatre play Nevinní jsou nevinní (Innocent Are Innocent) and direction of the adaptation of the novel The Confusions of Young Törless, renamed to Synáčci (Mummy’s Boys). Preparatory phase is emhasized. The author mentions rehearsal process itself as well, with the intention to analyze the influence it had on his future approach to directing. He concludes with the question that implicitly appears in all of the chapters: What is actually the difference between adaptation and dramatization?
Russian "New Drama"

The work focuses on the current Russian-language theatre writing, more precisely on its strongest and best-known fraction known as the “New Drama” movement. It questions the usage of the term itself as well as it outlines the historical development of Russian theatre, of drama of last twenty-five years and related events of the collapse of the Soviet Union and reflects the change of social paradigm. It describes the emergence of the phenomenon of "New Drama". It presents the names, institutions, general tendencies and its typology. In the second part, it puts emphasis on the production of four selected authors of the movement: Olya Mukhina, Ivan Vyrypayeva, Mikhail Durnyenkov and Yaroslava Pulinovich, whose works are analysed in detail. The analysis of the work of the four chosen authors and the context of its creation confirms the initial thesis of the gradual convergence of the original subcultural phenomenon with the mainstream. In conclusion, the thesis attempts to name the circumstances that led to the change of the authors’ strategies and thus generally to the transformation of the mainstream subculture.

The idea of the dissertation study is to capture in the historical-literary form Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre's history, characters of its personalities, marionettes, events, and introduced theatre performances in the years 1939-1990, (from the outset of the prof. In this thesis, the author focus on the description of mass, later called popular culture, and its products, the two selected, originally British, talent singing reality show, "Česko hledá SuperStar" (and "Česko Slovenská SuperStar") and X Factor. Their competitors are the subject for qualitative research of articles in periodical press. The aim of the research is using qualitative content analysis to analyse "Mladá fronta DNES" and "Blesk", and how published texts construct contestants of selected shows. For research was selected period of time when the competition was broadcasted, February - June 2004; February - June 2008 and September - December 2009.
Anděl awards in media: from its foundation to the present day

Bachelor thesis Anděl awards in media: From its foundation to the present day deals with analysis of medial reflection of Anděl wards from its foundation to the present day in chosen press. For this purpose following media where chosen: newspapers Mladá fronta DNES and PRÁVO, social magazines Respekt and Reflex, Rock and Pop, internet sites Musicsite and Musicserver. This thesis also elaborates history of Anděl awards and its important moments. Main part of this thesis is the analysis of medial reflection in particular press, which is done by combination of hermeneutic and quantitative approach. Throught chosen articles analysis provides insight in changes of Anděl awards. Special chapter inquires into Anděl award impact on particular musician and sales of his albums. The bachelor thesis Anděl Awards in media: From its foundation to the present day is analyzing a reflection of Anděl Awards in the Czech media. For this purpose, the following media were chosen: two major broadsheets Mladá fronta DNES and PRÁVO, social magazines Respekt and Reflex, music magazine Rock and Pop as well as internet sites Musicsite.cz and Musicserver.cz. The thesis is using a quantitative content analysis to prove whether the nature of the articles in Czech media is rather positive, negative or neutral. Apart from the analysis, it also observes the evolution of Anděl Awards, the composition of the academy, the method of voting, awarded artists and the ceremony itself. The first part of the thesis is focusing on a description of history of twenty three years of Anděl Awards, along with their milestones and significant moments. Also, there is a presentation of other music awards in Czech Republic as well as the reasoning why Anděl Awards were chosen for a detailed analysis. The function of the language semiosis in Prago Union's music lyrics

This bachelor thesis The function of the language semiosis in Prago Union's music lyrics" aims to capture and describe the uniqueness of linguistic expressions in the song lyrics of Adam Svatoš, the songwriter of the hip-hop music band Prago Union. It also presents the band as a whole and summarizes its contribution to the Czech music scene. Through a semiotic analysis the thesis examines significant elements of the song lyrics and describes their content, message and characteristic expressions. Primarily, it focuses on characteristic signs and symbols as the main unit and tool of the semiosis, and interpretation of the signs in the context of popular culture, where the hip hop music belongs. Furthermore, it concentrates on the description of used semantic phenomena, the explanation of their occurrence in the author's work and its appearance in the lyrics. The thesis attempts to capture the originality of expression and the contribution of the artist's work. In conclusion, the author's work is compared to the Beat Generation poetry.
The sexual content in current music videos

This thesis deals with the representation of sexual content in music videos as a product of mass communication between musical artist or record company and the audience. The main objective of this work is to analyze and interpret phenomena of sexual behaviour or nudity in a predefined sample music videos. The theoretical part defines marketing function of music video and explains the principles that are the base for displaying the sexual content in current production of movies. Other functions of music video such as socio-cultural principle and charity aim are mentioned. Theoretical part also briefly describes history of music videos. The practical part is based on content analysis of the presence of sexually explicit content in music video and ivestigates its various forms. There are two pre-defined aspects which are subject of observation: i.e. the presence of predefined forms of sexual behaviors divided into seven specific categories as well as the presence of three degrees of nudity. The observed sample is a set of fifty music videos that were posted on YouTube in 2014, while in the same year reached the largest viewership. This work describes the transformation of a literary work Válka s mloky through a form of radio drama script to the final form of this dramatic radio form. This work focuses on specific resources, which have the radio dramaturge and the director for their work with literature and also this work want to characterize the new quality that this work gets. This work also situates this radio play to the historic context of radio creation and also to context of the society in the Czechoslovakia.
Media promotion of a music festival on social networks and internet

I have chosen the topic of my thesis - music festivals promotion on social networks and the Internet - for one simple reason. I have been interested in the activities and events on the music scene for a long time, I am a team member of the band Wohnout and in the summer festivals are my daily bread. As soon as the weather gets warmer, the music business begins producing different events in large quantities. Every week dozens of various concerts and music events take place all around the country, ranging from small local ones to large cultural events of nationwide importance. The aim of my thesis is to describe the way a festival " gets to people" in general, but concentrate also to how new media (especially internet and social sites) changed the way of promotion of music festival a their communication with their visitors.
