The Cooperation of the State and NGOs on the MEDEVAC / Ukraine Program in 2014

This diploma thesis focuses on the possible cooperation between the state and NGOs on the program of medical evacuation MEDEVAC during the Ukrainian conflict in 2014. The aim of this study is to bring a coherent view on the MEDEVAC program and mainly to look into a relation between the state and NGOs which provide services to the state so they play irreplaceable role in this interaction, all through the analysis of interview with particular representatives. The study also focuses on the motivation, which both parties are entering into the relation, and advantages which the collaboration brings. The discovered findings from the research and evaluated achieved aims are placed in the conclusion of the thesis.
The Involvement of Young Russian-Speaking Immigrants into Civil Society in Prague

Russian-speaking immigrant`s community in the Czech Republic is quite extensive and quite closed. A large proportion of this group includes university students whose civic engagement is an excellent indicator for assessing the level of integration into Czech society. The aim of this thesis is to find out how the young Russian-speaking immigrants participate in civil society in Prague and what potential obstacles to participation they have already had or may have. In addition, the large role is played by personal background and motivation of migrants. The history of the Russian migration in Czechoslovakia, integration theory and the theory of civic engagement are included in theoretical background. Design of the thesis is a qualitative research.
Ombudsman in Relation with Human Rights Organizations

Diploma thesis is concerning about cooperation between human rights, non-profit, non- governmental organizations and the Ombudsman. Area of service and competence of the Ombudsman in recent years has significantly widened, which could be interesting and useful for the civil sector, and that it is primarily for the mentioned non-governmental organizations. The aim is to determine whether there is between these actors cooperation or not, optionally in which areas. Thesis is based on the theory of division of power, and assumes that the actors will be willingness to cooperate. Whether this actually works, was investigated by means of mixed research, starting from the survey between human rights organizations, and consequently more views on cooperation were gathered from interviews. The outcome of this thesis is to find in what specific areas cooperation proceeds, why cooperation does not appear and where they could find points of contact of cooperation.
Comparative analyses of immigration and integration policies in Czech Republic and Slovak Republic and a profile of non-governmental organizations working in this field

Topic of immigration and integration of foreigners to the majority has become more relevant in last few years in Czech and Slovak public. This essay deals with migration and integration on the level of government policies, introduces basic documents and conceptions, which were accepted in those states and the role of ministries and regions. Consequently, situation in both states is compared. In the second part of the essay, non-governmental organization and their role in the field of migration and integration are introduced and chosen aspects of three pairs of NGOs are compared with the effort to put them into the broader context. Activity of NGOs in the frame of state integration policy of foreigners in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis deals with issues of activities of NGOs in the frame of state integration policy and is bared oh the supposition that NGOs are important powerful factors which can influence and change state integration policy of foreigners in the Czech Republic. The main goal is to map NGOs engaged in the topic and examine their ways, structure and types of influencing public policy in the area. The theoretical part concerns description of issues of migration and its development in the CR, deals with Czech integration policy and describes theoretical types of influencing public policy and relationships between the state and NGOs. The empirical part includes basic information about particular NGOs and analysis of interviews with representatives of NGOs and the institutions and departments of state and an overall summary of the research. The discovered finding form the research and evaluated achieved aims are placed at the and of the thesis.
Effectiveness of NGOs in the field of integration and discrimination against foreigners

This thesis "Effectiveness of NGOs in the field of integration and discrimination against foreigners" is dedicated to the service efficiency of NGOs on issues of integration and discrimination against foreigners. The main goal of the work is to find answers to questions important for understanding the issue during the research. Another aim of the research is to determine whether it conforms to offer integration services of NGOs declared needs of users-foreigners. The thesis deals with the services offered by NGOs, the use of these services by foreigners, the relevance of similar services and how versatile such organizations could and should operate. It examined the rate of participation and assist NGOs in addressing discrimination and integration of foreigners and efficiency of their services. The benefit of this work are recommendations for NGOs, which could increase the efficiency and effectiveness of services in the field of integration and discrimination against foreigners. The recommendation is based on in-depth interviews with clients and a questionnaire survey of NGO employees.
Experimental and finite element analysis of composite gun barrels

In this work experimental and numerical investigation of composite gun barrels was studied. The history of the stress-induced deformations located at the center of gun barrels on the outer surface generated by impact loading was measured for six types of barrels. The obtained signals were subsequently evaluated using wavelet transformation. Finally, the finite element analysis in Abaqus and MARC software for optimum composite material M46J was performed.
Lobbying of non-governmental organizations in the free legal assistance law-making process

The master thesis is focused on the case of lobbying of non-governmental organizations in the free legal assistance law-making process. In the first part we can find definitions of lobbying and its actors, further the categories of resources, techniques and lobbying function. A part of the thesis summarizes the problematic points of the free legal assistance law, the situation of the issue before the start of lobbying by organizations and proposed problem solutions. In the chapter of the conceptual framework presents the thesis some of the civil society theories on the function of non-governmental non-profit organizations representing the interests of citizens and the models of partnerships between the civil sector and the state. The case study analyzes lobbying activities of the non-profit organizations in the free legal assistance law-making process and the reasons for his unsuccessful result.
