Title: Alternative and augmentative communication in PE lessons for pupils with pervasive disorder. Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to investigate the possibilities of using pictograms as methods of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) to support the communication of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in physical education (PE) classes.. Methods: The work is based on theoretical-empirical methods. In the first phase of the research, the SOP methology (word, picture, movement) was created, which can be used for testing and conducting PE for individuals with communication disorders. In the second phase, the method was tested on a group of five students with ASD (age 18-20 years, 2 women, 3 men) studying at a special secondary school. The qualitative investigation included the following methods of data collection: a three-phase test of understanding of physical education terminology, diagnosis by independent pedagogic staff in classes and participant evaluation by the researcher. The intervention consisted in the implementation of a comprehensive 4-month program for the development of communication skills using the SOP method in PE lessons with support in other lessons. In the third phase of the research, teachers were asked about their experiences, opinions and needs in the...

Title: Functional independence measures in wheelchair rugby players Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to investigate the relationship between the sports activity of wheelchair rugby players and the degree of functional independence in daily activities in people with spinal cord injury. Methods: 20 male wheelchair rugby players aged between 20 and 51 years, in the range of spinal cord injury level C5 - Th8, were selected for the empirical mixed research using the purposive sampling method. The methods of data collection include an interview and a self-constructed questionnaire that elicits anamnestic data, subjective assessment of self- sufficiency and player's experiences with health complications associated with wheelchair rugby. Furthermore, an evaluation of the SCIM III functional degree of independence was carried out, the results of which were compared with the results of two previous studies (EMSCI and assumptions of Occupational Therapists from the Czech Republic). Results: The results confirm a positive relationship between the player's functional independence and the sports activity of wheelchair rugby players. Respondents at levels of complete spinal cord injury C6 and C7-8 with the SCIM III assessment demonstrated a higher functional independence rate compared to the overall average...

Title: Prevention of poor posture and muscle imbalances of pupils in the 1st grade of elementary school - questionnaire survey Objectives: Finding the frequency of use of the means of preventing poor posture and muscle imbalances in elementary schools in the South Bohemian Region. Methods: I used a quantitative method, a questionnaire, which contained 22 questions, to develop the research in the diploma thesis. I sent the questionnaire by e-mail to the management of 250 schools in the South Bohemian Region with a request to resent it to 1st grade teachers. The questionnaire contained closed, semi-closed and open questions. A total of 92 completed questionnaires were returned. Results: The results of the questionnaire survey showed that 32.6% of teachers in the South Bohemian Region regularly engage in compensatory exercise, which includes stretching and strengthening exercises, every PA lesson. According to my survey, only 29.3% of teachers add physical education moments to their lessons regularly every day. Three-quarters of teachers use the movement to learn during mathematics or Czech language lessons. Key words: compensatory exercise, upper and lower...
