The impact of the activities of LAG Aktivios for the development of the region
VÍTOVCOVÁ, Kateřina
The cooperation of the population, non-profit organizations, the private business sphere and the public administration is called the local action group. This is a group that helps from the idea, through its financing to the actual realization. It supports the development of business, takes care of the landscape and develops education. All this contributes to the overall development of the region, which is the main goal of this work. The theoretical part contains a basic definition of concepts related to the development of the region with the help of local action groups of the Czech Republic. Subsequently, the connections with regional development, cooperation of municipalities, the LEADER method or Community-led local development and its strategy are defined. Furthermore, this part provides a comprehensive view of the issue of the influence of the local action group in the development of the region. An integral part describes the influence of LAGs on the development of regional planning and association into the national network and regional associations of LAGs within the country. The practical part brings findings from the questionnaire survey and direct analysis and synthesis of the evaluation of the activities of Aktivios within its contribution to the development of the region. The evaluation of the final outputs is further based on a structured interview provided to me by the chairman of the Regional Association of the National Network LAGs of the Czech republic of the Pilsen Region. The results of the thesis bring proposals for possible changes in the management of LAG Aktivios, Especially in evaluating the results of the position of the LAG for the past programming period.
Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Local Action Groups in the Pilsen Region
VÍTOVCOVÁ, Kateřina
Today's time period is renowned for a great percentage of people moving out from the cities to rural areas. One of many reasons is a better social and cultural environment of inhabitants. Local action groups (LAG), on which evaluation is focus in bachelor thesis, positively contribute to solving the stated issue. The main objectives are the evaluation and analysis of their activities in the matter of the Pilsen region. The theoretical part contains definitions of basic terms connected with the issues of local action groups on a national level. The identification of the local action groups in the range of the whole Czech Republic is focused on their reasons of commencement, legal terms regarded to them, history, and the possibilities for financing, a variety of activities and other characteristic features. Subsequently, the selected local action groups are analyzed as a major topic of this thesis. The practical part focuses on the evaluation which derives from nine local action groups located in the Pilsen region. The NS MAS evaluative scale is used for the evaluation. For the evaluation, certain indicators are selected like time for their establishment, amounts of members of the groups, financing, and other. Subsequently, a synthesis of the collected data, the very comparison, and evaluation of the effectiveness of functioning and benefits for the region is executed. Basic statistics is used to evaluate the outcomes and the outcomes are presented graphically. The conclusion of the thesis dedicates to strengths, weaknesses and other opportunities of operation of LAGs in the Pilsen region.
Restoration of hay meadows on ex-arable land: commercial seed mixtures vs. spontaneous succession.
VÍTOVCOVÁ, Kamila
The subject of this study were to compare two methods of grassland restoration - regrassing and spontaneous revegetating of abandoned fields in the Bohemian Forest foothills. The main aims of this study were to assess the phytocoenose differences between the re-grassed and spontaneously revegetated fields and effect of surrounding to abandoned field. The data were collected during the season 2008 and were analyzed by ordination methods (DCA, CCA) and by the ANCOVA. The significant difference between regrassed and naturally revegetated fields was not found. The effect of surrounding was important, most meadow species (92% in average)that were found in the field occurring in the surroundings too.
Succession in regrassed and spontaneously revegetated fields in the Bohemian Forest foothills
VÍTOVCOVÁ, Kamila
The subjects of this study were the plant succession of the regrassed and spontaneously revegetated fields in the Bohemian Forest foothills and the effect of grass cutting management on vegetation changes in time and some of the important soil microbial characteristics. The main aims of this study were to assess i) the phytocoenose differences between the re-grassed and spontaneously revegetated fields, ii) the effect of abandoned field surroundings on the field grassing, iii) the possible correlations between the successional age of fields and characteristics of meadow plant species. The data for the landscape view were collected during the season 2008 and were analyzed by ordination methods (DCA, CCA) and by the ANCOVA. The second data for the detailed view were collected during three seasons (2006-2008) from ten experimental squares and were analyzed by the ordination method (RDA) and the methods Repeated Measures ANOVA and One Way ANOVA. The significant difference between regrassed and naturally revegetated fields was not found. The effect of surrounding was important, while most of the plant species (86% in average) occurring in the surroundings were also found on the studied fields. The field age was positively correlated with particular characteristics of presented meadow plant species. Although the effect of grass cutting on the phytocoenose was not significant, the effect on the microbial biomas was significant in the mineralization rate of soil organic mater.

A spontaneous succession in young abandoned fields
VÍTOVCOVÁ, Kamila
Initial stages of spontaneous succession were studied in two differently aged abandoned field. The main tasks were to answer the following questions: Are the differences in vegetation related to the distance to a source of diaspores? Which species exhibit easier dispersal from the source? The souce of diaspors have a significant effect on the vegetation in the abandoned field and thus on the process of spontaneous succession. The succession leads to meadow vegetation and the succession is rather fast.
