Object detection
Vítek, Pavel ; Kratochvíla, Lukáš (referee) ; Richter, Miloslav (advisor)
This paper deals with object detection where a human figure is used as a model. The introductory chapter defines terms detection and object. The second chapter describes the basic theory of computer vision , such as image processing and its parts. A substantial part is also focused on the Canny edge detection, upper body detection and pose detection. The third chapter describes the MATLAB integrated development environment in which the image processing functions are implemented. The last chapter is a practical demonstration of object detection. Different upper body detection methods are compared there. In the last subsection, two methods of determining the deviations based on the template are compared. Finally, all methods are compared with respect to the obtained results.
Prognostic impact of nutritional status of patients with head and neck cancer on the efficacy of concomitant radio(chemo)therapy: A prospective clinical trial.
Králová, Anna ; Dršata, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Vítek, Pavel (referee)
The study is designed as a prospective clinical trial. Patients with histologically proven head and neck cancer treated by curative radiotherapy were included. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between pretreatment or posttreatment nutritional status and overall surival or locoregional / distant control. Pretreatment and posttreatment nutritional status was evaluated by body weight, body mass index, total serum protein, albumin, prealbumin, transferin and cholinesterase. Univariete and multivariete regression analyses were applied for prognostic factors associated with survival or tumor control. In this study we demonstrated, that poorer nutritional status prior curative radiotherapy, has a negative impact on subsequent control of cancer. The most sensitive parameter was serum cholinesterase. Serum cholinesterase  108 kat/l was the independent negative prognostic factor for both locoregional and distant tumor control. Results of this study indicate the need for intensive nutritional support before starting of curative treatment.
Pyrimidine metabolism in the environment of post-radiation chemotherapy response - a model for determining the optimal scheme chemoradiotherapy
Vítek, Pavel ; Rosina, Jozef (advisor) ; Zámečník, Jiří (referee) ; Petera, Jiří (referee)
Objectives of thesis research: 1.2 Primary objectives - Identify part-time post-radiation reactions, respectively. determine the dynamics of induction of expression of certain genes involved in its product in the metabolism of fluorinated pyrimidine. - Identify relevant increases in respective protein. - Some developments TP / DPD ratio. 2.2 Secondary objectives - Verify the model fluorinated pyrimidine potentiation of radiation as a basis for supraaditivní chemoradiaci in effect. - Determine the optimal scheme for the application of fluorinated pyrimidine in fractionated radiation application.

The analysis of effectiveness and undesirable effects of the radical chemoradiotherapy of anal cancer
Vácha, Ondřej ; Vítek, Pavel (advisor) ; Konopásek, Bohuslav (referee)
The subject of presented bachelor thesis is an analysis of efficacy and side effects in chemoradiotherapy of anal canal cancer. High anticancer activity besides severe adverse effects are specific for anal canal cancer. Adverse effect may finally negatively influence even overall survival. The data of 110 patients treated within the last 20 years at the Institute of Radiation Oncology, University Hospital Na Bulovce, Prague were analyzed to determine an impact of radiation delivery technique, chemotherapy and other variables on treatment results. Common chemoradiation regimen of mitomycin + 5-FU and radiation up to 60 Gy was employed. The single-institution data confirm high efficacy of standard treatment in terms of survival and relapse rate. There is a substantial rate of acute and delayed toxicity. Therefore there is a significant reduction of chemotherapy in elderly patients. However the survival and time to relapse data do not significantly differ in elderly patients. The age at diagnosis as a continuous variable does not significantly influence either survival or time to relapse. More advanced radiation delivery technique IMRT brings significantly less side effects compared to classic 2D and 3D conformal radiation therapy. Conclusions: High toxicity of standard chemoradiation for anal canal...

The Application of Fuzzy Logic for Evaluation of Quality of Customers
Šulc, Ondřej ; Vítek, Pavel (referee) ; Dostál, Petr (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the application of fuzzy logic for evaluating the quality of customers in company PPL CZ s.r.o. For evaluation was used Microsoft Excel and MathWorks MATLAB. There are going to be created models using fuzzy logic. The introductory part is devoted to the theoretical bases that are necessary to understand the whole issue. The second part includes information about the company and analyzes of the current situation. Finally, the last part presents fuzzy models used to evaluation of existing customers.
The properties of welding joint after hot-dip galvanizing
Vítek, Pavel ; Suchánková, Ivana (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
The project elaborated in frame of Master's studies branch 2303T002 presents a study of welded joints for hot-dip galvanizing. On the basis of literature study it is assumed that zinc influences the properties of welded joints. Samples were made of high strength steels DOMEX and wear-resistant steels HARDOX which were welded using MAG. Subsequently, half of the samples treated with zinc. The evaluation is used tear test and test Vickers hardness. Finally, the project is the comparison of the measured values of galvanized steel and steel without zinc.
