Separation of induced and remanent sources of magnetic anomalies on the Moon
Vávra, Ondřej ; Kletetschka, Günther (advisor) ; Valenta, Jan (referee)
During every full Moon our natural satellite passes through the Earth's magnetotail. For about 6 days the moon is exposed to a much stronger magnetic field, which induces magnetization in the paramagnetic and ferromagnetic minerals.. I'm trying to find a trace of these minerals in orbital magnetometric data and suggest a new way of analysing the magnetometer data suited for finding iron deposits. In the theoretical part of this work, I presented basic concepts of magnetism, described the magnetosphere, focusing on the dynamic nature of the magnetotail, which is directly influenced by the interaction of the magnetosphere with the fast moving particles of the solar wind. In the computational part, I plotted maps of the magnetometric data from the satellite Kaguya (SELENE) for times in which the Moon is in the Earth's magnetotail and reference maps from times in which the Moon is in the interplanetary magnetic field. I subtracted the data thus making a plot of the induced anomalies. I managed to confirm the occurrence of one of the anomalies in two separate magnetotail events. The induced anomaly located on the northern rim of the South Pole - Aitken Basin likely shows a signature of significant iron deposits.
Designing a web application for online photo-stock business
Vávra, Ondřej ; Střížová, Vlasta (advisor) ; Galba, Alexander (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on conceptual design of photo-stock web application, which uses information management to a comprehensive solution to the problem. The first part deals with the problem definition and related areas, as well as theoretical base. There are explained main terms that relate to photo-stock business and web application technologies. Since the proposal is focused on the area of electronic sales, attention here is focused on the current form of e-commerce, statistics and specifics, which arise from the electronic shopping. Then are mentioned characteristics of two methodologies - MMDIS methodology, which focuses on the multidimensional approach to system design and Chackland soft systems methodology. Methodologies and their phases are used to identify areas that need to be addressed in the proposal. Finally, describes the principles for designing successful web applications and basic parts of web audit. The second part is focused on understanding the complex situation that concerns the intention of creating a photo-stock business draft. There are identified lines of business, objectives and strategies of the organization. Based on the company's award is presented a basic specification of the application and the required functionality. Further segmentation is performed by potential customers. System approaches are defined by the root system definitions. Then are introduced analysis of competition and SWOT analysis, which is made from two views of access to the system. Summarized and discussed are economic and technical aspects of the proposal, including the income model. It is performed process system (identify processes, their connections and their information needs). Furthermore, the proposal deals with the possibilities of outsourcing in the data storage and networking basic parts of the system. All this information is transformed into the final design solution. This is outlined in terms of customer, vendor and business perspective. They are presented modified processes that were created in the process analysis. The specification and the design is formulated by questions and answers that bring the system. The following is a brief comparison with competing projects and an outline of further development options. The conclusion includes an appraisal of the work and its benefits.
Technologies, design and graphic user interface of web applications
Vávra, Ondřej ; Krsek, Libor (advisor) ; Horný, Stanislav (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on development of modern web applications and their graphic user interface. First part defines basic terms, introduces contemporary technologies of web applications and their specifications for GUI design and also presents the overview of design process. Practicing part analyzes frameworks usage and their GUI components for web applications. Contribution of this thesis is in framework analysis, evaluation and demonstration usage for GUI design. Document also contains own survey of framework usage in Czech e-shops and answers to questions about better GUI solutions, where frameworks are used.
ICT Project Portfolio Management: Theory and Applications in the Czech banking sector
Vávra, Ondřej ; Chocholatý, Drahomír (advisor) ; Matyáš, Zdeněk (referee)
The Thesis deals with a relatively new approach to managing groups of projects / programs as a portfolio, which comes from the general Theory of portfolio. The main objective of this Diploma Thesis entitled ICT Project Portfolio Management: Theory and Application in the Czech banking sector is to provide a theoretical base of affecting the most important knowledge about the problems of portfolio management of ICT projects with a focus on the operational level. The second main objective of the Thesis is to design the optimal process management (sub) portfolio of ICT projects at the operational level in the Business Intelligence department -- the separate organizational unit in Komercni banka, a.s. This Thesis is beneficial to its readers for the processing of international standard entitled Portfolio Management. This standard has never been previously treated at the University of Economics in Prague. The Thesis is thanks to processing of other expert information sources full of new, timely and quality information about this theme that is compatible with international standards. In addition to the theory the reader is enriched by a practical demonstration of application portfolio management at Komercni banka, a.s., one of the leading banking institutions in the Czech Republic The contribution of the Thesis for Komercni banka, a.s., specifically for the Business Intelligence department, consists in the identification of constraints in the process (sub) portfolio management of BI projects with a proposal of their optimization.
