Ventilation of sports hall
Urban, Ondřej ; Blasinski, Petr (referee) ; Uher, Pavel (advisor)
The master thesis deals with flow modeling in the CFD program. By means of which the opti-mal version of the air distribution diffuser in the sports hall will be selected. The first variant will bring fresh air through textile diffusers. The second variant will bring fresh air through flooded large circular diffusers. The tested parameter of the indoor environment will be the flow velocity and the age of the air. The better-performing version will be processed as an implementation documentation.
Methods for Kármán vortices suppression
Kukrle, Daniel ; Urban, Ondřej (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelory thesis is considering a Kármán vorticies and their suppresion. The theoretical part describes principle of phenomenon origin and concepts connected with this topic. Following chapter deals with Kármán vortex street occurrence and danger. In the end of the first part there is an overview of phenomenon suppresion methods. Experiment applies selected suppresoin methods and proves their effectivness.
Dancing liquid - vibration eigenmode shapes of liquids
Urban, Ondřej ; Pochylý, František (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with phenomena connected with vertically oscillating liquid layer, particularly with Faraday waves and liquid atomization. More in detail it deals with the linear mathematical model for vertically oscilating inviscid and incompresible liquids by Benjamin & Ursell (1954). It also presents the appearance of these and other phenomena connected with liquid vibration in practical applications. Furthermore, results of experiments are presented. Their aim was to find some eigenmode shapes using the linear model and also to document some of their properties. Final part is aimed to the design of an experimental device for visualization of vibration eigenmode shapes of liquids.
Active control of flow past a cylinder
Kukrle, Daniel ; Urban, Ondřej (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
The diploma thesis is considering active flow control. At first part describes boundary layer separation and Kármán vortices formation. It also explains why it is important to control the flow, and the control is divided into basic categories. Then there are described known active flow control methods. Next part defines default problem with Kármán vortices formed behind a cylinder, analyzes flow and suggests useable flow control principles. In last part of the thesis are tested chosen flow control methods. At first there are verified open-loop methods, then closed-loop methods too.
Aircondition of club
Urban, Ondřej ; Rubinová, Olga (referee) ; Uher, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the air-conditioning of a club. Its design focuses specifically on sanitary facilities and sports hall. The project of the bachelor thesis covers ventilation units, including heat recovery from a sport hall and outline of displacement ventilation.
Particle separation from fluid flow
Fejta, Vojtěch ; Urban, Ondřej (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the particle separation from fluid flow. The aim of this thesis is to get acquainted with the already existing methods of separation, to study their principles and to describe devices designed for particle separation. The thesis is divided into two main units, the first explains the individual methods of separation, the second describes the specific particle separators, their advantages and disadvantages. The final part of the thesis is devoted to the design of another approach to separation.
Analog Modular Synthesizer
Klecl, Martin ; Urban, Ondřej (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis explores the topic of analog modular synthesizers and the circuit designs used in these devices. The introduction of the theoretical part deals with the basic terminology of modular synthesizers and their history and classification. The thesis also presents and characterizes the methods of producing sound focusing on additive, subtractive and modulation synthesis. From the fundamental components of a subtractive synthesizer, the thesis describes a voltage controlled filter, voltage controlled oscillator, low frequency oscillator and voltage controlled amplifier. The practical part of the thesis concerns design and construction of these components into a single universal Eurorack format module. The results of the thesis comprise measurements of the parameters of each of the basic blocks of the synthesizer module.
Reduced order model of swirling flow
Urban, Ondřej ; Pochylý, František (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the formulation and application of reduced order models based on extraction of dominant structures from a system utilizing the method of proper orthogonal decomposition. Time evolution of computed modes is described by a system of ordinary differential equations, which is gained by means of Galerkin projection of these modes onto the Navier-Stokes equations. This methodology was applied on two test cases Kármán vortex street and vortex rope. In both cases, a CFD simulation of one refference point was carried out and by utilizing gained modes, the corresponding reduced order models were formulated. Their results were assessed by comparing to the refference simulation.
Study of vortical structures generated by a swirl generator
Kurková, Michaela ; Pochylý, František (referee) ; Urban, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the study of vortical structures generated by a swirl generator. The theoretical part is focused on the description of experimental and numerical studies of the vortex rope phenomenon. This part also includes a brief overview of vortex identification methods. The second part is dedicated to the study of vortical structures captured by CFD simulations. The vortex identification methods are compared on an example of the vortex rope.
Vortex breakdown
Lunda, Filip ; Rudolf, Pavel (referee) ; Urban, Ondřej (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the vortex breakdown phenomenon. The first part focuses on a description of the vortex breakdown and its own characteristics. The next part deals with the theoretical description. After that, an enumaration of experimental devices used for observation of vortex breakdown follows. The last chapter contains information about control of this phenomenon.
