Bauerová, Lucie ; Topková, Petra (advisor) ; Pánková, Barbora (referee)
This thesis focuses on implicit theories of wisdom, primarily in the context of the Czech working environment. The goal was to qualitatively verify whether there are differences in the concept of wisdom among people in different career fields, specifically among people in the helping sphere and those in the marketing sphere. For these needs, an online questionnaire with open-ended questions was developed, asking about the definition of wisdom, the characteristics of a wise person, examples of wise people, and a specific experience with wisdom. The questionnaire collected a total of 25 relevant responses, which were then assessed using the thematic analysis. Three themes were determined for evaluation based on Monika Ardelt's three-dimensional model of wisdom - the cognitive, reflective, and affective dimensions. The definitions of respondents from both spheres were further assessed concerning the importance of mentioned characteristics in their career field. Equally were analysed concrete situations and names mentioned in respondents' answers. The results indicate that although the individual dimensions often overlapped or partially complemented each other, people from the helping professions mentioned the affective component of wisdom much more often. Respondents from business fields considered...
