Waste-to-Energy in the Czech Republic
Rajkovič, Jaroslav ; Toman, Filip (referee) ; Lachman, Jakub (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on Waste-to-Energy process of municipal waste in the Czech republic. It describes production of municipal waste in the Czech republic, influence of waste composition on burning process and principle of incineration technology. The largest attention is paid to current Waste-to-Energy plants in the Czech republic and new planned projects. Last part of the thesis evaluates fulfilment of Waste management plan of the Czech republic goals.
Heating the House by a Heat Pump
Najbrtová, Zuzana ; Sitek, Tomáš (referee) ; Toman, Filip (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of heating a house by a heat pump. It has two parts: The theoretical part describes the principle of heat pump and its types, according to the source of low-potential energy used. The practical part outlines the dimensioning of the heat pump, based on the calculation of the heat loss of the selected building. Finally, the economic-technical comparison of the heat pump and the gas boiler is drawn.
Heating options of a house
Veselý, Přemysl ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Toman, Filip (advisor)
The bachelors thesis deals with the topic of heating possibilities of family houses. The work is divided into two parts. The first chapter deals with the search for heat sources used in local central Europe conditions. The practical part deals with economic calculation and economic assessment for used heat sources. Its aim is assess the correct economic intensity of resources used for different family houses, divided by heat loss.
Oil heater design
Daxner, Ján ; Toman, Filip (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of heat exchangers for crude oil heating. The first part deals with the theoretical basis of heat transfer, heat exchanger properties and oil properties. In the second part, a design of two heat exchangers was developed. In the first variant, oil was placed in the pipes and steam was placed on the shell side. For the second variant, the media placement has been swapped. The design part consists of the design of the geometry of the tubes, the shell, and the baffles. Furthermore, thermal, and hydraulic calculations were performed. At the end, the proposed variants were compared, and a more advantageous design was selected.
Assessment of three types of heat exchangers
Hlavinková, Valérie ; Toman, Filip (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to assess selected three types of heat exchangers designed for emergency cooling. The theoretical part of this thesis consists of a research containing an overview of exchangers. It includes a description of the construction of exchangers, characte-ristics in terms of heat transfer and an indication of the areas of its use. The practical part deals with the thermal and hydraulic design of two tube heat exchangers and a plate heat exchanger. Finally, the evaluation of the designed exchangers is performed.
Solar systems utilization for family house energy demand
Šamanová, Jaroslava ; Toman, Filip (referee) ; Sitek, Tomáš (advisor)
Solar systems are more and more common part of residential houses. Main reason for this, is that solar elements are state-supported with subsidies, which is reducing payback time of these investments. At the same time, the prices for these systems are dropping. The state support is connected with effort to reduce dependancy on non-renewable energy sources, e.g. coal powerplants, which are polluting atmosphere. State administration i salso the reason for large scale solar powerplant constructions, which are, according to some opinions, misshaping the landscape and covering large areas of sometimes fertile land.
Heat exchanger design
Palyza, Vojtěch ; Lachman, Jakub (referee) ; Toman, Filip (advisor)
The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to propose a design of a flue gas – air heat exchanger. Based on theoretical knowledge and thermal and hydraulic calculations a basic design is presented.
Cogeneration units for family houses
Pekárek, Michal ; Toman, Filip (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
The scope of this bachelor’s thesis is basic design cogeneration unit in family house. The work is divided into three parts. The first part includes a summary of suitable cogeneration units. For each technology is mentioned short description with advantages and disadvantages. Based on this information was made a conclusion, that the most suitable microcogeneration units are with combustion engine, Stirling engine and fuel cells. This section focuses on legal requirements, which are connected with the application in family houses. The last section deals with the application in a specific family house. Heat loss of family house is 12,4 kW, amount of heat we have to provide for heating and warm water is 41,7 MWh and during the year was used 3,15 MWh of electricity. We have decided to design three different variations, all traffic-related cost and revenues are calculated for each design. In conclusion, they are compared with original state of energy supply to the family house.
Calculation of the heat balance of latent heat utilization of flue gases by means of a condenser
Toman, Filip ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
Thesis is focused on calculation of the condenser of flue gas, which is created by burning of natural gas. In the first part is theoretical overview of equations describing film condensation and physical properties of the flue gas. The second part deals with practical thermal calculation of the specified condenser. In third part parametric study is done in which a tempature of cooling water at inlet and the coefficient of excess air are changed. The last part of the thesis is dedicated to geometric design of the flue gas condenser whose required power is 8 MW.
Heat exchanger design for using of residual heat of flue gas
Niesner, Lukáš ; Sitek, Tomáš (referee) ; Toman, Filip (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is focused at design of a heat exchanger for getting residual heat energy from flue gases formed by burning beech wood in a fireplace or stove. In first part is situated a brief overview of heat exchangers and what types can be found at market. Second part deal with stechiometric calculation of flue gases origin and their physical properties. Last part is about designing two exchangers, flue gases–air and flue gases–water.
