I tried to find out how psychology can contribute to HR management and what impact it has on its efficiency. The thesis consists of three parts each of which describes individual HR management areas. The first part looks at HR management in the context of social sciences and introduces psychological disciplines the theses and patterns of which HR management draws on. The main emphasis lays on social psychology of organisation, this area being the main background source of information for the following parts of this work. The second part describes selected HR activities, their methods and potential application of psychology, the main objective being to thoroughly analyse how psychological observations can be applied to employee selection and evaluation. The last part focuses on the personality of employees, employee motivation possibilities, enhancement of employee satisfaction, and on the scope of corporate care of employees.
