Gluing of plaster casts
Zítková, Petra ; Ďoubal, Jakub ; Tišlová, Renata ; Kokstejnová, Aneta
The aim of the conservation procedure was to create a study which first focused on the evaluation of materials (traditionally used and modern) according to criteria corresponding to the requirements for contemporary conservation procedures. Based on the information and findings of the study, the procedure subsequently recommends the use of a suitable adhesive material and further presents several possibilities of solving the gluing procedures depending on the damage of the works representing the most frequently solved situations in the restoration of plaster casts. The methods and procedures are demonstrated on selected objects made of plaster from the collection of plaster casts by Stanislav Sucharda, where they were used and verified during their restoration.

Repair formulations for fine-grained stone arte-facts
Tišlová, R. ; Novotná, Adéla
Stone restoration practice continuously deals with the problem of the selection of suitable repair materials. In establishing the requirements that guide their specification, the fundamental aim should always be to achieve the best compatibility between the substrate and the repair. When dealing with the restoration of stone, several aspects must be taken into consideration: not only the way in which compatibility influences the durability and structural and environmental resistance of the repair, but also the properties of the stone substrate itself must be considered. Compatibility is a highly complex problem but when considering the above mentioned aspects, functional compatibility – the compliance between physical and mechanical characteristics of the materials – is the most critical in prolonging the sustainability of the repair.
Repair mortars/artificial stone for restoration of biodetritic limestones
Tišlová, R. ; Novotná, Adéla
This study deals with the properties of repair mortars for two types of biodetritic limestones from Kutná Hora and St. Margarethen (Austria). The binder of the mixtures was based on natural hydraulic lime (NHL), which has good processability and fits to optical properties of the substrates. Properties of repair mortars were modified by the type of aggregate (crushed rock, normalized quartz sand and mixture of aggregates). The artificial stone samples were characterized by means of the microstructure description and measurement of selected physical and mechanical properties.
