Třeboň, Passau army and Bohemian revolt
TITL, David
The bachelor thesis primarily aims at describing the warrior role of the town Třeboň in two major conflicts, which affected southern Bohemia in the first half of the 17th Century - the Passau army incursion in 1611 and the Bohemian Revolt from 1618 to 1620, including next two years of persisting resistance to victorious imperial party. At this territory, there the significant military and diplomatic operations happened. They noticeably influenced the development of both conflicts. Even that in both cases Třeboň represented a strategically important fortress, its role differed. These differences were chosen by the author to be the main topic of his thesis. Therefore, a comparative approach was chosen by using the direct method and the method of "sonda" (focused on something in detail). This way the author is looking at both wartime situations and evaluating its impact on microhistory of the region.
