Educational Programmes in Rehabilitation Classes of Special Primary Schools
Tůmová, Jana ; Zemková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Strnadová, Iva (referee)
My thesis wil be focused on the problems with education of children with severe mental retardation in the rebahilition classes of the special primary school. The introduction will pay attention to the characteristics of the children with severe mental retardation, including the case report. Then there will be explicated the specifics of the rehabilitation classes; their organization and therapy. I will focus on the actual legislative regulations. The thesis will be aimed on education of the sensible pedagogy at the rehabilitation classes, expecially on senses tools usage mapping. As an outcome there will be an overview of some tools for senses perception progress, which turned out through tuition at rehabilitation classes, and further possibilities for their exploitation.
Application of selected plant materials for the preparation of biodegradable plastics
TŮMOVÁ, Jana
The main aim of the thesis was to evaluate the feasibility of the production of sustainable and biodegradable films for food packaging made from raw plant materials using casting method. Specific objectives were: a) Optimization of the steps of the casting method for films preparation based on the use of different types of flours, determination of their physical properties (colour, cohesiveness, elasticity). b) Preparation of biobased plastic material from selected types of flours, determi-nation of their physical and mechanical properties (visual and tactile aspects, colour, thickness, moisture content). c) Investigation of the biodegradability of prepared materials based on enzymatic degradation in water suspension and water itself.
Effect of selected nutrients on skeletal muscle mitochondrial metabolism
Tůmová, Jana ; Anděl, Michal (advisor) ; Poledne, Rudolf (referee) ; Drahota, Zdeněk (referee)
Skeletal muscle plays an important role in the maintenance of whole-body metabolic homeostasis. Metabolic alterations of skeletal muscle contribute to the pathogenesis of a wide range of human diseases, such as obesity, type 2 diabetes and hypertension. Relative excess and suboptimal composition of nutrients negatively affect skeletal muscle metabolism and a better understanding of mechanisms involved in these changes is of central importance. The aim of the work presented in this thesis was to explore cell viability and mitochondrial respiratory parameters following experimentally induced changes in the availability or composition of selected nutrients (fatty acids and glutamine). We attempted to elucidate the mechanisms responsible for the observed changes, such as mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) damage, or nuclear receptors activation. The studies were performed in vitro on skeletal muscle cell culture models. In addition, we examined mitochondrial function and fat accumulation in skeletal muscle of vegans, i.e. subjects consuming a strict plant-based diet. Using C2C12 skeletal muscle cells we studied the effects of free fatty acids (FFA). We found that relatively low doses of saturated palmitic acid increased hydrogen peroxide production and induced mtDNA damage, mitochondrial respiratory dysfunction...
Use of folk songs for moral values strengthening of children in kindergarten
TŮMOVÁ, Jana
The Bachelor Thesis deals with possibilities of a folk song utilization for strengthening of moral values in a kindergarten. In the theoretical part there is a moral values definition included, a characterization of individual values, the work also pursues of upbringing to values issues in the common society. The work also focuses on a folk song as such, its characterization and its possibilities of an utilization in upbringing to values with regard with the Framework Education Programme for a preschool education. In the practical part there has been created a programme of activities coming out of folk songs and focuses on an acquiring bases of moral values. For the programme evaluation has been used a method of a structured observation where as a research group acts a class of heterogeneous children of one kindergarten. The aim of this work is to bring new ideas for using a folk song in upbringing to values and find out how working with a song with a moral content can influent following behaviour and thinking of children in a group.
Arthropods as a model taxon in learning about nature at primary level
TŮMOVÁ, Jana
This diploma thesis deals with the arthropod strain as a suitable taxon model in learning about the nature at the first grade of a primary school. The methodological analysis of using the animal strain explains the reasons why the arthropods are used in teaching natural science lessons and provides specific characteristics and manifestations of living organisms, which are possible to be demonstrated on it. The second part of the literature review presents the status of learning about the nature according to the Framework educational program and representation of arthropods in czech textbooks of the natural sciences. The thesis is a collection of newly created exercises for a first degree pupils of primary education, using the selected representatives of arthropods. These tasks use the methods of the direct study of nature and the elements of contemporary popular research-oriented teaching.
Deflation and the Czechoslovak experience
Tůmová, Jana ; Holub, Tomáš (advisor) ; Dědek, Oldřich (referee)
This thesis focuses on the term deflation, i.e., a decline in the price level in the economy, from a theoretical point of view, as well as empirically by an analysis of two deflationary periods in interwar Czechoslovakia. The first part focuses on theoretical concepts concerning the decline in price level. Deflation, currently a frequently discussed topic, can be distinguished as deflation caused by a negative demand shock and by a positive supply shock. Based on this distinction, a group of contemporary economists distinguishes between "good" and "bad" deflation. In contrast to this concept, the other group of economists consider deflation only as a negative phenomenon, even though deflation is caused by a positive shock. The second part of this thesis analyzes two deflationary eras in the 1920's and 1930's in Czechoslovakia. The first deflation was induced by interventions on the foreign exchange market in order to reduce the price level and stabilize the currency. In contrast, the second deflationary period was associated with the Great Depression, i.e., with an external factor. The third part analyzes Czechoslovak interwar time series using Spearman's and Pearson's correlation. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Ethics and economics
Tůmová, Jana ; Mlčoch, Lubomír (advisor) ; Zelený, Tomáš (referee)
Bachelor thesis called Ethics and Economics deals with two masterpieces of the founder of economic science, Adam Smith, The Wealth of Nations and The Theory of Moral Sentiments. Research in fields of economy and ethics seems to be very distinctive nowadays, however it has not been the same case during the past. Nevertheless, Adam Smith was able to present both fields as interdependent. Sympathy as innate human emotion is the foundation for moral judgment by which we approve or disapprove actions of others. We also try to gain as favorable judgment of others as possible. In order to do so we follow some general rules. Only if people respect such rules and the justice can trigger any economic activity. Otherwise, for example in case of the lackness of trust between individuals, the human society might collapse.
Issues of life imprisonment
Tůmová, Jana ; Novotný, Oto (advisor) ; Karabec, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kalvodová, Věra (referee)
Problematika trestu odnětí svobody na doživotí Disertační práce Mgr. Jana Tůmová Katedra trestního práva PF UK Strana 263 Synopsis The theme of this dissertation work is the issue of one of the exceptional punishments, namely that of life imprisonment, which following the abolition of capital punishment as the absolute punishment can be considered at the present time to constitute the strictest punishment which national courts may impose upon the establishment of guilt for the most serious criminal offences. This represents a continuously discussed theme, since this punishment in its purest form is the definitive punishment. The work focuses on the punishment of lifetime imprisonment as a whole, whilst the individual chapters link to one another logically and chronologically from the perspective of the time sequence of the criminal proceedings, including the executive proceedings. The first chapter deals with a definition of punishment as such and its purpose from the perspective of criminal law (Act no. 140/1961 Coll.). The second chapter addresses the situation of the punishment of life imprisonment within the system of punishments, its relation to the death penalty, in which part of the chapter is devoted to capital punishment from both a domestic and foreign perspective, including a history of the legal...
